Ok fair but the second bear was a gong show man you can’t actually think he would’ve hit that bear if it didn’t suddenly jump after the shot too much wind, to far for who ever was shooting and such a high risk of wounding it and losing it glad the elk and cows are safer but some one or all of you need a head shake on that one

But the main goal of that hunt is to help the ranchers out due to the numbers. The first bear surprisingly was 6/8 from making book. There was a guy a few days later in the same canyon that dropped an absolute stud (20+) never got score from him. But if I could post pics I would. Bear was just shy of 7’. So having two bears what are worthy of book coming out of the same canyon, shooting another bear while skinning and running into a sow and 2 cubs walking down to the second bear shows how many bears are really in this unit. Absolutely stupid how many there are. Respectfully I do understand what your saying and luckily we did kill that bear fast with a high lung. But in the end we did the job that this tag was meant for and helped the ranchers and elk.
It's my first "budget custom" its a .300 win mag savage 111 action with a 27" Xcaliber barrel. Mcmillan m40a1 edge fill stock. Leupold Vx5 3-15 (now topped with a NF NXS). Shooting 212 eldx on top of H1000 right at 2800fps.
To me bear hunting is predator control so really all these goons in the comments need to chill the fuck out… bears pound elk calves in the spring and Idaho has an estimated 30k black bears they kill 10s of thousands of elk calves every spring hence the units where you can get two bear tags. Good job.

What is with massive silencers on hunting rifles when you are in the middle of nowhere! Seriously what the fuck is happening to hunters with this crazy equipment to hunt with!

We made a bunch of summer sausage! Haven’t dug one out yet but had some burger in spaghetti and tasted ok to me. Not like elk but I’d put it about how antelope burger tasted for me. There’s better but it’s not bad.

@@dondammert 100% agree. Moose hunt could’ve been waaaaay better. This hunt was my brother in-law that filled in. Hasn’t used a camera. The hardest part is the videoing in my mind. We have an antelope hunt shortly coming that’s 100x better camera work. We do appreciate the watch. So thank you!

Don’t need to be showing as much background/ Scenery in your videos. Especially in a unit I hunt boys! Never know who’s watching and what areas they know. Rookie move here, all to get RUclips famous and show strangers how cool you are? Ruining sacred ground. I’d blast where this was but don’t want Keith finding the honey hole for bears and sheds that Dakota missed! If you’re from Pocatello I’m guessing you drove about 4 hours west hunting littles property.
Literally 14 of the 19 minutes of this video were you either standing there talking to the camera (which no one cares about) or you filming your buddy’s backside because your camera skills suck. Or you filming random rocks and the sky and trying to focus the camera. And taking potshots at bears. This was one of the worst hunting videos I’ve ever seen. I mean, glad you got two bears, but please don’t quit your day job.

Plus this is why we call it a hobby and not a profession 😂 we didn’t go to school for this or have the money to hire a guy. Reduces from 160 dB 2110 which takes a firearm going off from damaging your hearing to actually just being a little loud

It was a terrible sling. I had forgotten I sold my last sling with the last rifle so I had to use my waterfowl sling. Lol
