Thanks for an excellent video. I grew up in Wishaw just down the line and a friend and I regularly went spotting at Carluke in the late 1960s. Carluke was great because you got all the WCML stuff before the routes split at Law Junction. In those days there was a proper station building on the down (Glasgow) platform with a coal fire in the waiting room. A lot has changed in the last 50+ years!
Carluke railway station is a railway station on the West Coast Main Line (WCML) that serves the town of Carluke, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is managed by Abellio ScotRail and is predominantly served by Argyle Line commuter trains running between Lanark and Glasgow Central. The station lies at the western edge of the town, and enjoys panoramic views of the Clyde Valley and beyond to the hills of Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.
Great video. I filmed here once before and it was a great evening. I'm up in Scotland again soon and after watching your video I am considering going here again.
If you can go on a day where a lot of mossend freight runs, you can see a lot more variety than I did. There is also Royal Mail which tends to run at odd times. Glad you enjoyed Ben! 😃
You should come to Leamington Spa, a Victorian Station. Queen Victoria visited here hence the name Royal Leamington Spa. Or how about a compilation of Warwickshire?
Maybe ScotRail could inherit more Class 320s (redundant Class 321s cascaded from Greater Anglia) so that ScotRail can replace the Class 318s. Or maybe Hitachi could continue on manufacturing more Class 385s to replace the Class 318 and Class 320. And for the Class 318 and Class 320 to be scrapped. Plus I do like the lady announcement that is in Scottish.
I think it is very likely that a follow up 385 order will be made especially since East Kilbride and northern Scotland look to be getting electrification in the future. The 320s and 318s are the oldest EMUs on ScotRail and they will eventually fall victim to the chop.
This particular service was an 802 being used to train drivers on the stock before being used on some West Coast services. There were servers runs to and from Glasgow for this purpose. There was also another one in my Haymarket video. Thanks George 😃

Nice fast trains through a station I have never heard of! Good job!
I can remember in the 1960’s crossing the tracks with my grandfather, walking along the tracks, asa short cut down to Unitas crescent😎
Good station with nice bends on both sides
Ideal for watching the Pendolinos.

Great video compilation enjoyed watching it.
397s look so futuristic. Pendolinos are ancient looking by comparison 😅
Loving this Scotland series Keep it going :-)
Plenty of big stations still to come Ricky and I’m looking forward to showing you 👍🏻
The class 318 is the Scottish version of the class 321 along with the 320, change my mind
Well we have bins so that doesn’t work, and if you really want me to be pedantic they’re more of a Scottish electric version of the 150
Great railway video as always.
Thank you verrrry much 😃

I like the Britisch EMU,s ( Electric Multipple Units ) !!!
the class 385 is similar 800!
