That's an excellent rendition of that hat.👍 I am surprised by the fact so many movie character cowboy hats are marketed that only vaguely look like the real deal.
Nice work again Richard and looks great. All ya need now is a Colt Single Action Army revolver and a Winchester 1873 Carbine and you can play the part. Keep 'um comin'. JimE
Hi Richard, awesome job on the hat Sir! One thing I noticed on the movie hat side by side is Clint's hat had a little side wing on it. Maybe with some wet molding on the veggie leather it will stay formed. Makes me want to get back to leather working again. Thank you for all your hard work and time Sir.
I noticed when I stretch it a bit, the side wings appear a little more pronounced. There are a few scenes where it just looks really beat up too. Thanks for watching!
I'm sorry, but every time you do a leather video I think: But I'm here for the guns! And then I absorb every aspect of the leather work. By the end I'm going: Oh yeah! And then I'm thinking about different leather projects. Keep 'em coming! Still would like a walk-around of your Saloon.
I try to keep all the leather videos, "gun related". I like doing videos of guns used in movies too. In Two Mules for Sister Sara, Clint Eastwood uses an 1873 Winchester to shoot the dynamite on the train trestle. The hat ties the gun to the movie, at least in my mind it does. In other words, I'll be doing a video of an 1873 Winchester when the weather gets a little better! Thanks for watching both the gun and the leather stuff!
I wish I had time to make and sell some leather goods. I'm hoping I can do some projects in the future, but it's going to be a long time! Thanks for watching!
In a different life you may have ended up a leather smith or taylor for your community rather than whatever job you actually ended up doing. Skills like these are so important and being lost quickly.
Great stuff, Richard. Love the color you got.
Thanks Santee!
Thank you for coming back to your leather work glad to see it!
My pleasure!

There's a few things I need to tweak to make it just right. Thanks for watching TUCO!
Ooooh. I *LIKE* this one! It's now on my "todo" list! Thanks for the inspiration!
You are so welcome!
I love your leather videos can watch them all day.
Thanks! I recon I need to make more of them! The weather right now is just right for some indoor projects! Thanks for watching!
Great video, excellent craftsman! Thanks, fun to watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's a lot of work. I couldn't find a reproduction for retail sale. Having leatherworking skills can prove to be valuable.
I've still got much to learn. When you do find reproductions, they're usually quite pricey! Thanks for watching Squib!
Very nice hat Richard.
Thank you Sir!
Love your work bro..cool
Much appreciated
🤠.. super nice hat, very good video, thanks 😎👍🇺🇸
Thank you too!
That took a lot of effort. Well done!
Thanks!
Another ambitious project that turned out very nice! When you first dyed the brim I was thinkin’ that’s way too light colored. You proved me wrong.😉
It took a lot of neatsfoot oil to get it dark enough to match. Now I need to get some dirt on it to make it look right! Thanks for watching!

I need the vest! Thanks JimE!
Good stuff✌✌✌✌
Thanks ✌
That is a neat hat i always thought. L o l probably wouldn't actually be very practical in the desert though
It's heavy but I'm used to wearing a welding hood and hardhat. Thanks for watching!

Hi Richard, Are you taking orders for the Two mules for sister Sarah Clint Easwood hat?
Sorry, I am not. Maybe someday when I retire. Thanks for watching!

Any chance you'd sell one of these? Super Cool!

Great job! Is the original hatband rawhide maybe?
I wish I knew for sure, all I have to go by is screen shots. I think it's actually veg tanned leather. Thanks for watching!

This life ain't over yet! Thanks for the comment Joshua and thanks for watching too!
Very nice hat . Would you be interested in making any to sell ?
Not any time soon, maybe in a few years when I retire.
