It’s almost poetic how Tom Previte is the voice actor for Gaster and most of the choruses. It symbolizes how Gaster is watching you throughout your entire journey. Just like how the chorus is in most of the videos in Undertale the musical.
I haven't seen anyone bring this up yet, but all of Gaster's attacks here are mental, literally. Everyone else who has ever tried to oppose the genocidal protagonist has gone for physical attacks, attempting to flat out kill the person. Gaster knows this doesn't work, so he tries something different. He breaks you upon an unbreakable wall. The one who deals the final blow to you is YOU.

I love how despite Gaster doing something positive there’s still an undercurrent of ominousness-largely given the implication he now sees himself as God-mainly the lyric about his will being done and the allusion to Amazing Grace (‘once I was lost but now I’m found’). Also digging the subtle implication that every time you get ‘but nobody came’ Gaster was trying to manifest to kick your ass.
Yup. The line "My will be done!" is classic god-speak. The thing is, Gaster is embedded into the "code" of the Undertale universe. If he can manipulate the events and outcomes of the "real" world governed by said code, he is a god of sorts.

I think the best part about all of this is that Gaster isn't the one to kill Frisk, but he lets Frisk do the job, instead. Gaster is a reality warping being who exists outside of time itself. At any point, if he had wanted to, he could've killed Frisk then and there, but no, he instead gives Frisk the opportunity to attack. He's giving Frisk another chance. If Frisk had just chosen not to attack, they'd be perfectly fine, however, their unending genocide killed them

I think it's interesting how he said "say in the flames" because in the CORE song the chorus said something about flames and such and at one point in Entry Number 17 it had the same melody. Interesting tidbit. At 3:01 the lyrics are "Through the fire and the Flames, they've forgotten my name." Remember how Gaster fell *into* the CORE? Well, in "CORE" from UNDERTALE the Musical, there's a line in the chorus that goes: "Through the fire and the flame, you will see something very strange." It's not only the fact that we killed monsters he loves - it's possible that Gaster was alive when Asriel and Chara were alive, and that he looked after Chara's injuries from their fall as the closest thing to a doctor the Underground had, and that he cared for Chara at least as much as the rest of the Underground did with them being a symbol of hope, and possibly that he was a close family friend of the Dreemurrs and cared for Chara deeply. And we the player just destroyed Chara; we brought them back to life, yes, but we also turned them into an evil one-dimensional personification of violence in video games when they were a child who did not deserve any of this, we made Chara's horrible fate of dying then Asriel being killed even worse! Gaster would hate us for that alone!

YES #MoreTomGaster2017 paid off! So I've been listening to this song nonstop from the moment we at Internet Remix got to take a listen. It went on my running playlist immediately and I can't get it out of my head. There's just so much ENERGY to it. It starts off so strongly with Tom's opening, genuinely chilling laugh. The way he hisses out "I can see you didn't miss me" is just so DELIGHTFULLY dangerous, I adore it! Tom's Gaster voice is just delightful, for much of the song he seems so calm and in control, the way he just hisses out "Do you know what it's like to not exist?" feels so in control but there's this crackling energy beneath the surface of it. I love the line "to see yourself scattered throughout the mist" just because it's such a nicely written one. I love how things pick up with "I once thought this whole world was blind, now I see!" I love the sheer power in the lines that Tom really pushes, like "Now I see!", it comes across like this forceful attack but unlike Sans' Megalovania this feels controlled, almost effortless. To me it sounds like Gaster's attacks clapping together or his hands being spread apart to send some volley of attacks, it's so good. Also that lyric is just a really fun one. I just love the way Tom sings "Interesting!", it just makes me smile. "Now you will feel the void as well, beckoning!" I LOVE this line, prior to this Gaster seemed to only be playing, but that line feels truly threatening. There's some genuine malice now. I love how the video here has what I can only assume is wingding laughter, a great effect here. "You who look, but are blind to see. Stare into the abyss, the abyss gazes back", I LOVE the way the last bit here is snapped out and I LOVE this whole line. I'm a sucker for references to the abyss gazing back and the lyric does such a good job of putting Gaster in complete control "I am here, it's a fact, so you must believe." Sorry kiddp, you thought the game was over but you were wrong. "You will break, you will quake at the things I know." Such a great line, great energy and it has such a powerful ring to it. "I am here, finally, time to end this show." Another great fourth wall break, as is standard of UTM and the Geno package. I love the "within the flames" bit as the hands draw closer in the art. It's genuinely foreboding and a great callback to Sans' line. Gaster may not have access to literal fire, but Frisk is FINALLY receiving the hell they were promised and it's not a good time. Then comes the shots of Frisk being slammed around and there's something genuinely brutal about it as Gaster speaks of his backstory. I love how Tom snaps out "I made one mistake, fell into the CORE." God the way he sings "erase the past, my will be done." It's just so strong, there's so much determination to it, there's no doubt in his delivery here. I love how "You cannot stop me, I have not begun!" just feels like it has this dark smile to it, what a dangerous promise the line holds. "You will never strike your killing blow", there's such a great emphasis on killing blow, I love how with a few lines emphasized, even without the art you know for a fact this is a follow up to the Geno route. Gaster knows what went down and he is DONE. The second "Time to end this show!" has more emphasis and seems angrier now. "Every time, every crime, every lie you told yourself!" Jeez Gaster I feel called out, GREAT writing here that really pushes that Judgement at the end of the game home. "I have seen everything, watching from within the code." MMM so well written, such a great story line. "Break this world, lies unfurled, chaos whirls, the truth will show!" The way this line just speeds past with such ferocity and then Tom ends on such a forceful note, UGH it's SO GOOD. "Haven't you heard to beware the doctor who speaks in hands?" I love the way Tom sings "Doctor" here, I'm not sure how to describe it but it's just spoken in such a way that gives me chills. I love the callback to YBF with "you fell down, now I'll have fun" and then AAAHHH the callback to Sans and Papyrus with their faces flashing by in the art breaks my heart. It's here that Gaster truly sounds ANGRY, "you can't stop what has begun" is most dangerous Gaster has sounded in an already dangerous piece. "The doctor is insane, I have bugs in my brain", this whole segment is so quick and has such a great beat to it and it's all done in such a matter-of-fact "I'm mad, but what does that say about you" sort of tone. "You won't be entertained", MMMM GOOD CALLBACK TO THE SANS FIGHT SO GOOD SUCH A GREAT THING TO FINALLY SEE THIS ALL COMING TOGETHER AAA IT'S SO GOOD. The emphasis on "punishment" as the Gaster Blasters are unleashed in the art is so goshdarn cool. "Fallen child end this game, only you are to blame." AW MAN SO GOOD. God that line is just so accusatory and spoken so cooly and it's such a great callout, this song is full of them but that in particular is so good. "Now you will feel the void as well, beckoning" AAAAAH the way that last line is done so finally. And then Gaster's final lines are so chilling but strangely hopeful. Maybe now that this is over, this experiment can reveal... something, at least. We can dream. So uh, yeah, this was amazing and I adore it. Tom knocked this out of the park, the song is SO FAST and i'm very impressed at how well he kept time with it. Such great emphasis on so many lines and I just adore his Gaster voice. GOD SYM'S ART! Sym has been knocking it out of the park and DEAR LORD the animation! I can't handle how great it is! I love how Frisk finally seems at a loss here after being so cold and in control in the rest of the Geno art. The animations of Frisk being surrounded by hands and nearly crushed is so good. I love the animation where they slash Gaster and then the wound just heals and we see Frisk through said wound, SO GOOD. Of course the real standout here is Frisk going through different dimensions-- it kinda broke my heart to see Frisk in bright colors again, it brings to mind the Pacifist route and oh it hurts but GOD THE EFFECTS HERE ARE SO AMAZING. I love the motion to Frisk being bashed around the screen, even without animation the way it's drawn gives so much motion. And then in the end, when Frisk stabs themselves... the knife through the heart hurts. It feels like Geno Frisk is stabbing Pacifist Frisk, because we haven't seen that red soul since the Pacifist route. But well, that makes sense, doesn't it? When it comes to the Geno route, you aren't just killing your friends, in a way you are also killing yourself. So uh, yeah. Amazing job guys!

Gaster is portrayed as an unbeatable opponent, and wouldnt that be frustrating as all hell? The player finally thinks they land a hit and all of a sudden, they realize that it was all for nothing.

I love how despite Gaster doing something positive there’s still an undercurrent of ominousness-largely given the implication he now sees himself as God-mainly the lyric about his will being done and the allusion to Amazing Grace (‘once I was lost but now I’m found’).
Also digging the subtle implication that every time you get ‘but nobody came’ Gaster was trying to manifest to kick your ass.
Yup. The line "My will be done!" is classic god-speak.
The thing is, Gaster is embedded into the "code" of the Undertale universe. If he can manipulate the events and outcomes of the "real" world governed by said code, he is a god of sorts.

I think the best part about all of this is that Gaster isn't the one to kill Frisk, but he lets Frisk do the job, instead. Gaster is a reality warping being who exists outside of time itself. At any point, if he had wanted to, he could've killed Frisk then and there, but no, he instead gives Frisk the opportunity to attack.
He's giving Frisk another chance. If Frisk had just chosen not to attack, they'd be perfectly fine, however, their unending genocide killed them

Gaster are: a secret sound test room that contains his theme, a mysterious room in a hallway, containing what we assume is the doctor himself, and the G. Followers. All of which are locked behind the FUN variable.

Wait deltarune wasn't realeased when this came right?
It's not only the fact that we killed monsters he loves - it's possible that Gaster was alive when Asriel and Chara were alive, and that he looked after Chara's injuries from their fall as the closest thing to a doctor the Underground had, and that he cared for Chara at least as much as the rest of the Underground did with them being a symbol of hope, and possibly that he was a close family friend of the Dreemurrs and cared for Chara deeply. And we the player just destroyed Chara; we brought them back to life, yes, but we also turned them into an evil one-dimensional personification of violence in video games when they were a child who did not deserve any of this, we made Chara's horrible fate of dying then Asriel being killed even worse! Gaster would hate us for that alone!
And then he knows physical attacks won't work so he breaks the "player" with words!

YES #MoreTomGaster2017 paid off! So I've been listening to this song nonstop from the moment we at Internet Remix got to take a listen. It went on my running playlist immediately and I can't get it out of my head. There's just so much ENERGY to it. It starts off so strongly with Tom's opening, genuinely chilling laugh. The way he hisses out "I can see you didn't miss me" is just so DELIGHTFULLY dangerous, I adore it!
Tom's Gaster voice is just delightful, for much of the song he seems so calm and in control, the way he just hisses out "Do you know what it's like to not exist?" feels so in control but there's this crackling energy beneath the surface of it. I love the line "to see yourself scattered throughout the mist" just because it's such a nicely written one. I love how things pick up with "I once thought this whole world was blind, now I see!" I love the sheer power in the lines that Tom really pushes, like "Now I see!", it comes across like this forceful attack but unlike Sans' Megalovania this feels controlled, almost effortless. To me it sounds like Gaster's attacks clapping together or his hands being spread apart to send some volley of attacks, it's so good. Also that lyric is just a really fun one. I just love the way Tom sings "Interesting!", it just makes me smile.
"Now you will feel the void as well, beckoning!" I LOVE this line, prior to this Gaster seemed to only be playing, but that line feels truly threatening. There's some genuine malice now. I love how the video here has what I can only assume is wingding laughter, a great effect here. "You who look, but are blind to see. Stare into the abyss, the abyss gazes back", I LOVE the way the last bit here is snapped out and I LOVE this whole line. I'm a sucker for references to the abyss gazing back and the lyric does such a good job of putting Gaster in complete control "I am here, it's a fact, so you must believe." Sorry kiddp, you thought the game was over but you were wrong. "You will break, you will quake at the things I know." Such a great line, great energy and it has such a powerful ring to it. "I am here, finally, time to end this show." Another great fourth wall break, as is standard of UTM and the Geno package.
I love the "within the flames" bit as the hands draw closer in the art. It's genuinely foreboding and a great callback to Sans' line. Gaster may not have access to literal fire, but Frisk is FINALLY receiving the hell they were promised and it's not a good time. Then comes the shots of Frisk being slammed around and there's something genuinely brutal about it as Gaster speaks of his backstory. I love how Tom snaps out "I made one mistake, fell into the CORE." God the way he sings "erase the past, my will be done." It's just so strong, there's so much determination to it, there's no doubt in his delivery here. I love how "You cannot stop me, I have not begun!" just feels like it has this dark smile to it, what a dangerous promise the line holds. "You will never strike your killing blow", there's such a great emphasis on killing blow, I love how with a few lines emphasized, even without the art you know for a fact this is a follow up to the Geno route. Gaster knows what went down and he is DONE.
The second "Time to end this show!" has more emphasis and seems angrier now. "Every time, every crime, every lie you told yourself!" Jeez Gaster I feel called out, GREAT writing here that really pushes that Judgement at the end of the game home. "I have seen everything, watching from within the code." MMM so well written, such a great story line. "Break this world, lies unfurled, chaos whirls, the truth will show!" The way this line just speeds past with such ferocity and then Tom ends on such a forceful note, UGH it's SO GOOD. "Haven't you heard to beware the doctor who speaks in hands?" I love the way Tom sings "Doctor" here, I'm not sure how to describe it but it's just spoken in such a way that gives me chills.
I love the callback to YBF with "you fell down, now I'll have fun" and then AAAHHH the callback to Sans and Papyrus with their faces flashing by in the art breaks my heart. It's here that Gaster truly sounds ANGRY, "you can't stop what has begun" is most dangerous Gaster has sounded in an already dangerous piece. "The doctor is insane, I have bugs in my brain", this whole segment is so quick and has such a great beat to it and it's all done in such a matter-of-fact "I'm mad, but what does that say about you" sort of tone.
"You won't be entertained", MMMM GOOD CALLBACK TO THE SANS FIGHT SO GOOD SUCH A GREAT THING TO FINALLY SEE THIS ALL COMING TOGETHER AAA IT'S SO GOOD. The emphasis on "punishment" as the Gaster Blasters are unleashed in the art is so goshdarn cool. "Fallen child end this game, only you are to blame." AW MAN SO GOOD. God that line is just so accusatory and spoken so cooly and it's such a great callout, this song is full of them but that in particular is so good. "Now you will feel the void as well, beckoning" AAAAAH the way that last line is done so finally.
And then Gaster's final lines are so chilling but strangely hopeful. Maybe now that this is over, this experiment can reveal... something, at least. We can dream.
So uh, yeah, this was amazing and I adore it. Tom knocked this out of the park, the song is SO FAST and i'm very impressed at how well he kept time with it. Such great emphasis on so many lines and I just adore his Gaster voice. GOD SYM'S ART! Sym has been knocking it out of the park and DEAR LORD the animation! I can't handle how great it is! I love how Frisk finally seems at a loss here after being so cold and in control in the rest of the Geno art. The animations of Frisk being surrounded by hands and nearly crushed is so good. I love the animation where they slash Gaster and then the wound just heals and we see Frisk through said wound, SO GOOD. Of course the real standout here is Frisk going through different dimensions-- it kinda broke my heart to see Frisk in bright colors again, it brings to mind the Pacifist route and oh it hurts but GOD THE EFFECTS HERE ARE SO AMAZING. I love the motion to Frisk being bashed around the screen, even without animation the way it's drawn gives so much motion. And then in the end, when Frisk stabs themselves... the knife through the heart hurts. It feels like Geno Frisk is stabbing Pacifist Frisk, because we haven't seen that red soul since the Pacifist route. But well, that makes sense, doesn't it? When it comes to the Geno route, you aren't just killing your friends, in a way you are also killing yourself.
So uh, yeah. Amazing job guys!
