- From his CD 'Slow Motion' from 1985, Andy is one of the only musicians in the world to successfully fuse the unlikely pair of smooth jazz and steel pans. This remains my favorite CD of his to this day, a 94Q regular for sure!
Featuring:
Bass - Keith Jones
Congas, Bongos, Percussion, Vocals - Kenneth Nash
Drums - William Kennedy
Steel Drums, Keyboards - Andy Narell
Keyboards - Frank Martin
Keith Jones.. absolutely fabulous Bass playing.
No computers or sequencers here. Every instrument was played in real time. It just doesn't get much better than this. Damn I love this song.
OMG I so forgot about this awesome gift ! I wore this Cassette tape out ! THANK YOU !
Margarita sippin music 😁😋🍹🥤
I’m a sucker for the steel pan!
A record store owner turned me on to Andy Narell by playing Natty Stick back when the album was released. I listened to half the song and bought the cassette tape. I went back the next week and ordered other albums. I got to see them them twice in Philly, flippin killer band. The guitar player Steve Erquiaga is the man. Check him out on other tracks on the album. He plays some killer guitar on his solo album "Erkiology".
appreciate the tip, great album from Steve
I own this album. Cool stuff.
Yep, indeed. I also enjoy his contributions on Ray Obiedo's 'Iguana' release from 1990. Very unique and original style.
