Give Away Winner will be chosen 3 days before expansion reveal to give enough time to friend request and actually buy the preorder.
This year really had the best flavor imo. And Nathria sits at the top, I hope we get another "spooky" set sometimes soon, haven't one of those since
As someone who played exactly enough of Shadowlands to experience this expansion with full knowledge the flavor was absolutely perfect and really highlighted the best aspects of Shadowlands. It's also funny that they were able to tie in a lot of the Shadowlands character returns into functional and strong cards while also not having to supplement the set with original characters because Shadowlands already retooled and reimagined these characters in a perfect Hearthstone-y way (Decimator Olgra, Sinrunner Blanchy, Kelthuzad, all could reasonably be fanservice original creations, but the fact they were all legitimately from the expansion made it feel so faithful while still retaining the whimsy of Hearthstone's scenarios)
Necrolord Draka was a curious case, cause when it came out nobody played it, it was considered one of the bad legendaries. I don't remember if it became powerful after an expansion or someone just discovered a good deck with her. The same thing happened with Pozzik, nobody played it when it came out, it was considered bad, but then someone said it's good and it started seeing play in most decks and then it got nerfed.
That didn't happen at all
What? I played pozzik day one of festival of legends in Frost Dk and big beast hunter. 70% of the players did actually, and that got howdy fan and pozzik nerfed in less than a week. I know some cards take time to shine but you literally couldn't have picked worst examples from those respective expansions. First nerf to miracle rogue was in the Second week of nathria if memory serves me right, with graveyard going up 1 mana in cost.
@@joaopc94 Miracle rogue worked well without Draka aswell, although some decks included her, because graveyard was so busted. I guess the GY nerf increased her popularity.
And Pozzik wasn't included at the start, "but i played it" is a stupid argument and you're way off when it comes to its inclusion rate, check the decks before making statements.
And that was the whole point which you apparently missed, these are great cards, obviously since they got nerfed but for some weird unexplicable reason, they didn't see much play.
@@becausecontextmatters5260so you are going to ignore the fact Pozzik got nerfed pretty early. good way to show that you care about facts (not)
The Countess is my favorite Card
But I am also slowly falling for the sing along buddy propaganda
blizzard when is the next set that prints wife warrior support? : 3
yeah need more wife warrior
I'm a big minion, big stuff, big spell, big control, etc - guy, I hope more cards like Sesselie get printed and relics get some support :( And of course GIVE ME BACK MY SPOOKY MAGE!
(When I say support for relics, I mean support for control demon hunter, what thinking again... Maybe would be a little pain to deal with so that's probably for the best)
Pelagos did see play in standard Naga Priest with Wig
Imp King Rafaam saw play in Even Warlock since Dark Alley Pact's fiends are imps.
Skeleton mage almost got me back into the game
But it took until festival of legends hero power Druid to actually get me there
I was also very fond of Stewart and dude Paladin but as it turns out 1/1 token spam isn’t good
Sesselie saw play during the time when whomper cost 5 mana and big druid was viable but never again once whomper went back to 6
Relic DH was the most fun ive ever had playing HS, really felt like we finally had a slower style deck that can still play proactively for the board and doesn't just do nothing first few turns, especially having Brann + Jace to suddenly OTK slow decks it was a deck that you felt could win any matchup even if unfavoured and yet wasn't overpowered at all. Sesselie was played with whomper in big druid lists IIRC
Was so disappointed by the lack of pve content for this expac, was pretty fun tho i loved spooky mage
I believe during playtest Deathborne started at 5 mana but was nerfed to 6 before it got released. That makes it sadder that it didn't go to 5 after last rotation.
Fav HS card is probably Lord Godfrey from witchwood, such a clean effect that made it quite useful on cubelock
Blizzard when they give up skelly mage for constant casino
Blizzard constantly printing painlock and miracle rogue
Wildseeds were so fun. I loved hunter during that time, but I get that Wildseeds were pretty strong. Still I think the nerf to fox was overkill.
One of the funniest interactions Olgra had was that it benefited from Brann, released later. Both sides of her effect (gain 1/1 for each damaged minion, and attacking all targets) triggered in sequence. So you get her all beefy from your buff cards ahead of time, and when she comes down smacks the entire board + your opponent, *then* gets buffed from *everything,* including herself *and minions she's already killed,* and attacks Face AGAIN. Utterly ludicrous and worked like a dream for that short time the sets were together.
Spooky Mage and Relic DH arde my favorite archetypes of their classes respectively. If it weren't for Boomsday Control Warrior, Spooky Mage would be my favorite time in this game period
I likes the overall theme of Nathria. The whole murder mystery angle was awesome.
Plus, Frost Mage saw a massive revival with the Skeleton package and Solid Alibi which was a huge plus for me to come back to the game.
The only thing I didn't like was how insanely unfun it was to play against Hunter, Warlock and Rogud. A good chunk of their cards had to get nerfed to oblivion to not be problematic anymore
Actually disenchanted the questline form mage (that i never actually got to try out) to craft kheltuzad the inevitable. I have yet to achieve legels of seratonin close to playing pre nerf keltaz sinstrider+brann+kheltuzad to sumonn 20+ skeletons and burst the opponent from full health (It was the least toxic and unfair combo involving brann and sinstrider you could do that expansion 😂).
I suport those changes, make nathria relevant again!
Kel’Thuzad, the Inevitable is my favorite Class Legendary from this expansion, the deck building you have to do with him is something I can get behind.
My favorite card is a tie between with Bloodreaver guldan with its sick animations and powerful effect; and Darkest hour because that card helped me get into legend for the first time since classic. Yes I like warlock
This video made me think when you were talking about Mankrik and Olgra, could you do a power point on free legendaries given at the start of a each expansion?
I did some research on the Wildseeds from the Hunter class and I have to say, they feel like they would fit more into Druid or Shaman flavour and lore-wise
favorite hearthstone card is 100% Prince Renethal
no thinking just big health and greed pile
I like King Plush, I don't know what it is exactly but I find it a really fun card.
my favourite card would be ragnaros lightlord, doesnt see play unfortunately but the art and flavor of the card are just so good i love it.
By the second time they decided to nerf wild seeds I simply didn't care about disenchanting Ara'lon
I really liked playing relic demon hunter. It got better with titans legendaries with the card that casts the first spell you draw
Man Draka was such a cool card. Shame it became useless after the nerf. My favorite card is obsidian statue
I have Baroness Vashj. I wish she had ever been good enough to play. Oh well, that's how it goes.
The problem on Sesselie is that it's mana cheat, but it's slow so that becomes a value oriented aggro ability
I remember that they marketed the expansion as a murder mystery but I have no idea how they implemented that story into the game. How do you know what happened to sir denathrius? Was it in flavour text of the cards?
Also fav card is for sure snowflipper penguin I just love him💖💖
If memory serves me right, the whole murder mystery was told in a blog post. My theory was that there was suppost to be single player content for it, but Blizzard decided to discontinue making single player content such as adventures, most likely due to the poor reception of the last one in Sunken City and the Book of Heroes/Mercenaries.
He faked his death he is a vampire lol. He even sucked blood from enemy's with battle cry...
@Crawdithe98 there was solo content for sunken city??
@@aufi7692 yes there was a tavern brawl? You needed to beat 8 bosses to get a pack
Relic demon hunter made demon hunter fun again, rip Nethrandamus
I love Trogzor he was my first legendary
my favorite card is emperor thaurissan :)
I love swift messenger, i really like the VA on it
Nathria is one of the best expansions of all time imo
Got ra-den for automaton priest
Nat pagle dor the giveaway
Did they ever reveal which of the suspects actually killed Denathrius? I know the story ended with him just coming back to life but someone had to kill him first right? Was it himself as a prank?
Yeah he didn't die, the hint was always his voice line
@@FlareIsGone Oops should have waited til the end of the video to comment
I'm inclined to say king crush is my favourite card, because it's the first ever golden legendary I got and a 8/8 going face is funny
Rafaam my beloved
*Reska, The Pit Boss* for the giveaway, assuming we're supposed to post it here
There was a brief time, when Deathblossom Whomper was at 5, where Sesselie was used in a masked reveler deck.
Great vid!
There's no minion oriented mage deck
Mech mage came on Sunken City tho
Mech mage is unplayable so that doesn't mean anything
@@FlareIsGone I saw it a lot but never again after Mechwarper's obliteration, i think i got into hs videos just at the start of Sunken City
Stewart the Steward was playable in Duels 😢
My favorite hearthstone card is Catrina Muerte (especially pre-change) I really like resurrect priest
