Just so you all know - his interviews don’t change. He kept saying the same things over and over again when he took Crewe down. You could lose ten in a row but he will use his interviews to reiterate even the tiniest points in his favour. If he gets the sack he will blame basically anybody but himself. I will be amazed if he lasts the season.
There’s no excuse for not being ready for the first game of the season, why is it we throw away the opening month every year? Waiting for the deadline to be ready is insane. Get your side together early.
Clearly we need to sort out our defence
Just need to training on defensive as we can't let so many goals in big test is Tuesday night and Saturday with Rotherham and Mansfield
Surely defenders should know how to defend corners without having specific training sessions…I thought last season was hard but this one fills me with dread

We lack quality all over the pitch. We're going to be in a relegation battle all season. Not only have we not added quantity we haven't added numbers either. We'll end up with a load of young loan players who aren't getting games for their clubs for a reason.

And we traded Artell for Hurst ! At least Hurst had a defence , this bloke waffles on and frankly is so boring with it , Grimsby have serious problems and are in real danger before the season kicks off
Hurst certainly didn’t have a defence at the end, it was bloody awful
He doesn’t look like a confident man now. Last season, even in the midst of the bad run, his confidence and certainty in what he was doing was evident in his interviews.
Now, I just want to ask him if he is ok. Because he looks and sounds like a man who knows he has major issues and maybe no answers
