Castlevania music is like no other. The chord progressions and the melodies are so dark, almost with a medieval or neoclassical sound and this one is certainly no exception. The instruments all just go so well, with the main melody sticking out with the organs and later electric guitar. And then, the more silent moment in the middle, with just the bass and the melodies, was a stark contrast to the rest of the parts that were more intense. The drums also added much to the power of the song and the crazier the melodies got, the more adrenaline boiled but in a good way. Lastly, the great visuals are something you do better than anyone else. One of your best covers Blue, amazing work!
I like about those melodies, that they are a combination of ambientic sound, like darker and have this medieval, classic, barrock touch on the other hand they use often melodies you could find in a pop or rock song on the radio. I'm glad to hear that you notice the contrast between softer and more intense passages, its a style I truly enjoy in rock and metal songs :) Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words Conso! I thought the vst e-guitar solo might be to much, but it seems to be okay haha xD *bow to you*
BlueTarou this is a masterpiece! I love how it just rocks out there towards the end, so awesome. I've actually been playing through the GBA and DS Castlevania again, those games are some of the best. CotM holds a lot of nostalgia for me, thanks for sharing this, I loved it.
I was inspired from my favorite symphonic metal band in the build up of the cover - of course less metal - but yeah I wanted to give it a rocking passage, I'm very happy to hear that you like it =) Those Games are truly one of the best metroidvanias out there =) Dawn of Sorrow would be even greater without the circle drawing, I'm so bad at this xD
thank you very much =) the lead organ was a combination of a rock organ that is used in the spyro original trilogie and a organ vst that I used for quit sometime now, I thought the combination sounds noice xD and I'm very glad to read, that you think it was balanced, this was something what I truly wanted to archieve with this cover, thank you very much =)!
