    That oil you're draining out looks pretty clean.

    I like to use one of those giant party buckets with the rope handles that holds the beer and ice at get-togethers to catch the oil.
    I have also used one of those cheap plastic pumps that you put on a drill motor to transfer the oil from the 5 gal bucket into the tractor, works pretty good; can also pump the drain oil around for disposal.
    Thanks for the video.

    Thanks so much for the video. I have a 2008 5303 JD 4wd coming up to the 1000hr suggested Trans oil change. Always like to watch a video, yours was Great! Thanks Just trying to figure out where my screen housing is located, the JD book shows a picture, I'll just have to crawl under to locate it, yours appears to be next to your PTO, mine looks like it may be elsewhere. thanks again subscriber now

    I think the reason for the filter being so difficult is because of the suction created by emptying the oil out and putting the drain plug back in. It would have came off if you’d have done it without the drain plug in.

      Sounds logical to me. Will make a note for next time. That the filter had probably been on there 10 years likely didn't help matters. Thanks for watching!

    Most forget the filter in the back. My screen filter was plugged, and my 3 point hitch lift was not working properly.

    Question for anyone here. I’m front of drain plug there is a cover with 4 bolts in all the corners and 1 bolt in center. What is that plate and does it need to be removed to change fuild also

    I've got a question for you about that 5310, I have the same machine. My hydraulic system moves really slow now do you think it's the filter and the screen and old fluid?

    • @dogwoodspringsoutdoors
      @dogwoodspringsoutdoors  2 дня назад +1

      @@popsblair1 Yep, but I t could be a lot of things or combination and you would just need to start ruling stuff out. Not enough fluid would be the easiest thing to check. If you have leaks you would likely know but pressure could be escaping. Definitely could be clogged filter, but also may be from worn seals, water or other contaminants in your hydraulic fluid, or your pump could be failing. Probably not everything but some things to consider. Hopefully it will be one of the easier, cheaper fixes. Thanks for checking out the video.
