I am very happy to hear that Christian had a nice experience acting in this film and could create a climate of confidence with Zhang Yimou as well. Chris is very nice & tactful speaking about the fact that often english speaking directors cannot understand each other better than he did with Yimou. Thanks a lot to BaleheadsBlog for having posted all chinese TV interviews with Chris: I am a balehead myself and I enjoyed them a lot! ;oP
Yeah, me too - it was an amazing film, beautifully crafted and powerful acting. But I don't think I can watch it again - the rape scenes are just too gut-wrenching. I nearly puked during some of those scenes. But Mr. Bale was phenomenal in it.
Just saw this film. It's powerful and conveys what the phrase 'rape of Nanking' actually meant. Bale is very articulate here and it often helps when interviews are in a foreign language as the interviewee speaks more clearly and more thoughtfully.
He looks slick in that shiny suit
I've never him talked this much in any other interviews or even in his movies.

Damnit, it's Yimou, not Emo.
