  • @BluRacer7
    @BluRacer7 6 лет назад +231

    Ricciardo earned that win today, he was dominant all weekend just to get his 2016 nightmare extinguished and despite his car losing power he nursed it beautifully and great job for Verstappen to finish the race without a crash all while setting the Fastest Lap of the Race and pull off great moves to get in the points on a track that's difficult to overtake, good job for Red Ball all around and much better race than last year even though it's quite boring.

    • @mgecko2959
      @mgecko2959 6 лет назад +1

      Lucas Joona they had problem with wheelnut, happens to everyone shame it happened to Sirotkin but it wasn't like they were late with the tyres, they discovered problem and didn't resolve it on time.

    • @mgecko2959
      @mgecko2959 6 лет назад +1

      Andrei loan Stan because he wasn't penalized with 10 seconds but 10 seconds stop and go. If he was penalized with 10 seconds he could serve that during pit stop but since he had 10sec stop and go he had to pit within 3 laps and serve penalty without team being allowed to perform any kind of work on the car. They were actually under investigation for doing so because one of mechanics was standing next to the car blowing cold air onto brakes.
      So you might get 5 sec penalty or 10 sec penalty, occasionally 20 sec penalty, you might get drive through penalty, or 10 sec stop and go penalty which is the worst of them all as it combines drive through with 10 sec

  • @bs666.
    @bs666. 6 лет назад +96

    I don’t think this one was that boring. Verstappen did a bunch of overtaking after eating the wall in practice, the Williams going in and out of the pits constantly mixed up traffic a bit when they started getting lapped, Ricciardo being slowed by the hurt car kept the field bunched up tighter than usual to the point where Ocon was catching Bottas by 2s per lap at the end. The question of whether or not Ricciardo could hold Vettel off or even make it to the end added some drama, and the new hyper soft tires and new track surface meant that no team knew exactly what the tires would do and how they would last.

    Incredible race by Ricciardo. One of the best drivers on the grid, if not the best. Also one more thing, for the people still whining about Max being too aggressive.. for years people have been wanting to see more overtakes. Then Max comes, he's a bit too eager sometimes yes, but the successful overtakes he has made so far, the magnificent race in Brazil, the amazing wins in Spain, Mexico, Malaysia, etc. He went from 20th to 9th.. IN MONACO. That's god damn amazing. Props to the Red Bull boys for their deserved win and double points. Could've been a 1-2 were it not for Max's error, but still. Amazing race from both. Future world champions in both Red Bull cars.

      @mgecko2959 6 лет назад +3

      Again small correction DanielRDB.
      First of all lets state it openly - he is F1 racer and will be vulnerable to criticism when he doesn't perform. Especially since he was by many named next F1 prodigy, biggest talent since Senna and future WDC.
      His race at Monaco wasn't anything impressive, really. He gained two positions off the line also thanks to car advantage and poor get away from Haas guys then he past Ericsson and Stroll without much of resistance. Seemed to me like they knew he will overtake sooner or later and since they were running in P17 and P16 and needed lot of problems for guys in front f they were hoping for any points so they just let him through. Rest of the field he overtook thanks to car pace in first stint when everyone in front of him pitted. Perez had massive delay on his pit stop that helped Max, Alonso retired that gave him another position, Hartley, Leclerc were overcut during pits and Sirotkin was penalized being dropped to the back after just one lap. If Perez and Alonso wouldn't face problems he might have finished P11. The only real overtake he had to make was on Sainz who was on much older tyres and in without doubt much slower car. And even that overtake wasn't really clean, twice he relied on Carlos avoiding him or it could end up in tears for both. He pushed Sainz off the track on his first attempt and then cut in front off him jumping off the kerb at second attempt.
      So I appreciate his phenomenal performance in Brasil but that was almost two years ago and he didn't manage to come even close to that. Instead he managed to put other drivers in danger on numerous occasions proving time and time again he doesn't care if he leaves any space or not (what he did to Sainz in first attempt), he lost over 70 points this season already and is ot even 3rd of the season. He lost twice to Daniel already in 2016 and 2017 by 30 and 50 points and this season he is already 37 points behind where he could be 30 points ahead at this stage. He crashed 6 times already this year, made 8 major mistakes costing him points and all of that in just 6 Grand Prix.
      Also his drive in Spain was impressive however he won there thanks to RBR strategy that robbed Ricciardo of that win to justify replacing Kvyat with Max and showing it was right decision. If you look at it Kvyat was dropped after single mistake in just 4th GP of the season and after he just beat Ricciardo season before that, something Max didn't manage to do so far and I already know without major luck malfunction for Daniel he wont do that this year for third straight season.
      So no I refuse to give him props for that race, for me he must do much more than that to earn back top driver title. Especially since he again showed he have no regard for car next to him on the track. Almost any driver right now can cause collision and that wont be big deal but Max cant even be too aggressive and push anyone off the track because lets not forget that this kind of driving caused all of his mishaps so far.
      Last but not least I already told you in previous conversation that he is overrated, Senna didn't lost 3 seasons to all of his teammates not to mention one specific person. Alain Prost only lost by half point in his first season as teammates with Lauda at McLaren but beat him by much bigger margin in following season. He lost once to Senna but only due to idiotic scoring system of 88/89. He only retired 7 times in 13 years due to collisions with other drivers and two of those were famous accidents with Senna. Max just this season retired twice due to collisions with other drivers in just 6 races. In Monaco Verstappen has 50% of finishing rate In his 4 visits to the track and crashed 4 times every single time in major way affecting his point score. How is he next Senna? That's my question. So problem is like I said he is overrated in first place and people like you don't make it any better, you said you are not on Verstappen fanboy train but everywhere you are trying to excuse his mistakes and overrate his achievements.
      And I don't care how exciting to watch he might be, for every good, clean and exciting overtake he makes he has at least one crash, blocking or pushing other driver off the track. That's not a way to driver because you will pass one person and crash into second most of the time and that's what he does this season. And it seriously starting to pissing me off he completely don't care about drivers he is racing, he drove into Hamilton forcing him out of the track where he didn't had to, he opened the steering on purpose there to make him run wide onto dirt and dust, he almost incorporated Daniel into the wall in Baku twice after which he blocked the shit out of him changing direction under breaking (move we seen from him on many occasions), he completely rammed Vettel in China and in Monaco he forced Sainz wide taking entire track for himself. Its like he always rely on other driver taking avoiding action, its a style of driving like - I DONT CARE I CAN CRASH< YOU CHOOSE GET OFF TRACK OR CRASH INTO ME.
      That just will never work, you have to leave space, I really liked this kid, was amazed by him after Brasil 2016 but since then he just constantly loosing in my eyes with his poor racing IQ, idiotic dangerous manoeuvres, lack of taking responsibility and complete disregard for other drivers safety and right to be on the track.

    • @IcarusNadir

      Firemarioflower Daniel is better than Seb. He outqualified and paced him when they were teammates, plus Dani is basically the best overtaker on the grid. Max however has more raw speed than Dani. Vettel is amazing though, but still makes mistakes that cost him the championship.

      Nope, there is a rule where you can't push someone out of the track while overtaking. So Sainz shouldn't have to give Verstappen the position.

    Gasly is a really impressive rookie, future champ !

    • @mgecko2959
      @mgecko2959 6 лет назад

      Really impressive he is but don't get to ahead of yourself. In last 20 or 30 years we only had on average 3 champions per decade. In fact in last 20 years 17 times championship was won between 5 different drivers. Lets say he will be in F1 for 15 years, in this time on average you will have 4 maybe at best 5 guys in total winning WDC. If I should go through the list of drivers that were called future world champions and didn't became one just in last 20 years it would be:
      Montoya, Heidfeld, Massa, Fisichela, Maldonado, Kubica, Verne, Ricciardo, Grosjean, Bottas, Bianchi, Webber, Coulthard, Perez, Hulkenberg and probably many more.
      Form current young drivers already Verstappen, Ocon, Leclerc, Gasly, Vandoorne, Wehrlein, Sainz and Giovinazzi were called future world champions at some point and none of them so far is within reach.
      There are few other examples, if you asked in 2006 most people involved in F1 how many WDC titles Alonso would win in his career most said at least 5 but he didn't win championship in 12 years despite the fact he is arguably best driver on the grid through that entire time. Kimi won his title by one point over Alonso and Hamilton, 1 point !!! Grain of luck on Alonso or Hamilton side o proper management from Ron Dennis and he wouldn't be world champion despite long and successful career. Massa lost by that single point in 2008 and didn't finish as high never again.
      So first Gasly has to get a chance in great car, then he has to avoid bad luck, then he has to beat his teammate and then maybe he will be champion. But we have seen in past that few bad races can ruin someone's career in fact one bad race can destroy someone career like Kvyat example shows.

      Getting into the top ten from last on grid is good. However, there were three retirements and both Williams had multiple pitstops/problems. In reality, he moved ahead of only Grosjean, Van Doorne, Magnussen, Perez, Ericcson & Sainz - the latter with typical aggro involved (twice).
      Passing at Monaco is hard and he should be happy with a points finish from where he was. But lets not get carried away with the achievement... the cars he passed were far, far inferior to the one he drives. He was also more than a minute behind the other Red Bull despite it having lost use of top two gears and MGU problems.

      I know cars are probably wider now, but schumacher went from 20th to 5th in 2006, what verstappen did is not bad for the track but not a record either, and on almost all tracks would not be called a decent race for the car he had.

    This was a remarkable win and a great race to watch. I always wonder how Danny Ric would have done had he not lost power and would he have just have vanished into the distance as he was seriously faster then everyone on this weekend or was it the lack of power that actually saved his tyres due to less force running through them in the race. Anyways, all in all it was a great race and a great win.
