Aw Chloe, seeing you spend time with your grandma is the most heartwarming thing ever, she's so humble yet playful and I can see the resemblance between you two!
I don't know if it's the music, editing, content, or what, but this video exudes so much joy and personality! I love it, and I'm so glad you experienced personal growth during your stay. Thank you for showing us the truly hidden gem that is Taiwan.
AHHH!! Thank you so much!! I'm so so so glad you appreciate the work put into this. Taiwan is truly a hidden gem and I hope more folks get to experience it!!
I am so happy you got to be with your grandmother. This is truly a blessing. I lost everyone, my mom, dad and all grandparents. You did the right thing as life is definitely too short to live unhappy. It is a pleasure seeing your adventures, thank you for sharing!
This video is so nice! I also grew up in Taiwan and most of my family is still there, haven't been back in almost 10 years but this really brings back memories. Reconnecting with your roots and your family is so important, so nice to see your spending time with your family.
Another lovely vlog by Chloe. I’m glad you could go to Taiwan and reconnect with your roots and visit your family. Your grandma seems so sweet, the places you went were beautiful and food seemed super tasty. Thank you for sharing.
Woweee so nostalgic ~ this makes me really miss my family in Taiwan! I had plans to go visit as an adult in 2020 but definitely let myself put life on hold during the pandemic. Need to go see everyone soon once this wave is over!
hey girl!! thanks so much!! :D been experimenting with all kinds of editing styles but i try not to spend too much time on it haha. i'm glad you appreciate it ~~
Your grandma looks so sweet and adorable! Bless her soul and bless you, I hope you obtain from this chapter what you're searching for. Greetings from Texas
TAIWAN LOOKS SO LIT!! Love the shots where you put frame inside a frame, those were fun to look at. Also wish you had more narration throughout the vlog. Looks like a fun trip :)
That was a dope recap!! makes u think, its not about the place but the people you're with that creates the experience!! are U still doing your coworking livestreams? gosh, now i gotta sign up for twitch! ;P
Hi Chloe! First time watcher here. and I love this video! We grew up with a similar background! i'm from the bayarea but have family in taiwan and watching this made me miss my grandma in taiwan too! hearing your taiwanese mandarin is just so homey to me too :') Seeing your cousin taking you around reminded me my cousins taking me around. I was wondering if you remembered the name of the restaurant at 4:42! I am going to taiwan next month with my SUPER ABC husband (5th generation chinese american) for the 3rd time (havent since quaratine) and we're determined to actually eat at restaurants now instead of only street food haha. i was so intrigued by that restaurant. Please share if you remember it!
@@chloeshih oh come back, id love to go out for food and drinks with you, me and my mate we know all the nice places in daan, often going around just loving the atmos in taipei, recently into the japanese districts, theyre so amazing!!! cheers, Gaz.
I love Taiwan so much and I’d love to go back just to do the 2 weeks quarantine and order Uber eats 😂 living there and working remotely for a year or so is one of my dreams!! Subbing because I feel like I found a abc who is just as obsessed with Taiwan as I am 😂 Ximen and shi ling are my stomping grounds so it’s so cool seeing yo I visit those places!
Haha omg I LOOOVVEEE Taiwan so so much. Unfortunately, I had to come back to the states bc of the outbreak, but they just announced that they hit 0 cases in Taiwan!! Things are looking better this half of the year!
Hello from Cambodia. This is totally relatable for me as an American working abroad, it's so much more fun in Asia. Still contemplating of going back to US, but the rat race (and crazy rent) seems so daunting. Ugh
Hi Amy!! Welcome to the channel! And yeahhh Asia is honestly so insanely fun. I feel like there wasn't that much pressure to try to climb the ladder when I was traveling in Taiwan. However, I must admit that my experience is that of a foreigner. Perhaps people who were born and raised in Asia feel the need to get involved in their own version of a rat race. Now that I'm back in the US, I am back to the grind and def miss the lifestyle in Asia!
Hey lemon! Actually, there were lots of reasons. I never intended staying there long term, but wanted to go to see if I could live there long term. Also, there are tax implications if you stay for more than 3 months or 6 months (I can't quite remember). My job at the time also wouldn't let me stay longer than about 3 months due to tax reasons. At the end of my stay there, the pandemic hit Taiwan pretty hard, so it was about time for me to get back!

i thought you had moved for good :) nevertheless , we felt happy watching your days in TW..
Random Q, how comes you only moved there for three months? Did all your friends and family know you'd be leaving after 3 months?
Hey lemon! Actually, there were lots of reasons. I never intended staying there long term, but wanted to go to see if I could live there long term.
