Owl house fam!! Hi!! I guess you’re not from an asian country? Usually in asian countries, ‘lesbian’ conjures up the image of a very specific kind of tomboys. Like the two in the video. Expression of gender and sexuality are often meshed together. There’s little variance from country to country but it’s very different from how things are in the West. In Thailand, for instance, instead of butch/femme, we have Dees (high femme ladies) and Toms (tomboys) and this is something that’s been around since the 70s. Although I’m not from Korea, these questions make a lot of sense to me and all of their experiences are relatable af lol
Hello, I'm Hu in this video. I know that original feminism means discrimination against women and equality between men and women free from oppression. Feminism is now used like 'female supremacy' in Korea. Furthermore, it is often used as a hate for men. It seems that the original meaning has changed because it was a country that had a strong preference for boys in the past. In that sense, we think that the rights of men and women are equal, so if you ask 'Are you a feminist?' in Korea, I can say no. But if you think it's just gender equality, I'm a feminist. Lesbian doesn't hate men! We just love women.
Thanks for this comment. In India too, if we say, a woman is a feminist, men assume that, she hates men. Hating on men is as bad as hating on women and, it's known as Misandry. A lot of people confuse the 2 terms. India too, has a patriarchal society like South Korea (for a little context, 93% female foetuses in North India are actually killed before they can even open their eyes). This discrimination increases the moment, people realize that, the woman is a lesbian too. Though, very recently, same sex marriage has been legalized, LGBTQ people are still forcefully sent to therapy, lesbian women are forced to marry men, wherein, they face rape and other horrors in their in-laws' place. In short, they are socially ostracized. Thanks for being so open about this. Love the support our community is getting. 🌈❤🧡💛🤍💓💗 💜
In Korea, there is a very bad idea of feminism, and it is wrong, I live in Russia, and here you need to proudly say that you are a feminist, because in Russia there are no laws on the protection of women's rights, feminism is a wonderful movement😊
Don’t you think that the meaning changed in your country because of misogyny ? Maybe you shouldn’t deny being feminist to avoid criticism. Their negative view of feminism is misogynistic.
I’m French and I’ve heard the same kind of questions... I think and I hope that over time people will come to see things and no longer ask questions that put us in boxes according to our look or other. 😊 Thanks for the video it was nice and interesting ! 😊

The most infuriating and perplexing question I got after I came out was "If you're a lesbian, is there still a possibility you will like men? What's like the percentage of you liking women and what's the percentage of you liking men?" *insert me mimicking pickachu surprised face ":O"*
That's so trueee, after my coming out my mum asked me if I ever liked a man or if I'll ever want to date a man... like, what about me being lesbian is not clear?
Not a lesbian but I'm still confused about the questions. Apply the same questions to heterosexuals and you will get your answer. Everyone is different and we all have our preferences. Still human who have experience the same emotions as everyone, regardless of who we love.
I have to disagree. It depends on their culture and beliefs. I am heterosexual tomboy and Mexican, so here there are a lot of people who think a real woman and men have to look like this. If you don’t fit the image of being sexy, then your identity is not heterosexual. Even there are hairdressers who dislike or doesn’t know how to cut women’s short haircuts and just cut it like they do to men. I really dislike that because I like my hair short, but I look more like a guy because they don’t know how to cut it. Unless they are very professional. I have been considered lesbian or bisexual by some heterosexual and LGBT+ people like wanting to test my sexuality or just saying I look like a cute guy for a reason. I never cared about their beliefs and it is very concerning that kind of people need to put you a tag and think something has a reason and they are right. I guess it is because before gays would dress like the role they wanted to have or look like and adults would make you think that is the image of someone gay. I remember it was more like warning you to avoid being manipulated by gays because some of them would rape or abuse the person they liked and forcing them to like them back and being with them. One of my female cousins dated a woman who would hit her because she was jealous of anyone and my family members think she was the one who killed her. Someone pushed her towards a truck in a road and she was single at that time. Nowadays, I still find lesbians who think if you look masculine and cute, you could steal their girl and they have thought I am lesbian and forced my female friends to stop having contact with me. Even though I told them that is toxic and they shouldn’t date someone like that, they blocked me. For me it doesn’t matter their sexual orientation, when a person needs to tag you and give you a role, they are not open-minded as they think they are and I have met many LGBT+ that are rude to people of their own community and when I asked them why they do that, they admit there are a lot of toxic people in the community and they prefer to avoid getting involved because there is someone who always want to fight and being right.

I know that being a feminist it's seen as if was a bad thing in korea, as if feminism was about putting a gender above the other, as if it was about hating man, I know that in korea there's a problem with radicalism in feminism but I hope they know that, even tho it also exist radicalism in other countries and there are also haters of this feminist movement, globally speaking is not seen as a bad thing, is about human rights is about giving a gender the rights that didn't have for years and destroying patriarchy which also affects in a bad way to the male gender, I know that in their country is seen as man haters but I wish they could think globally too sometimes
Ah they're so cute 😻... Also, these questions 😂. I had a friend with the same ideology "shows I'm a woman who is always ready" 😂. My wife is naturally very " manly" looking with a deeper voice. She's unfortunately been confused for being a guy or taking hormones.. no she is just a woman with a different body type
@@bummie oh yeah that part was definitely strange too.But mehh, some people are just incredibly sheltered lmaoo😭,I’m just glad she recognized it & is actually open to learning & doing something about it
I am a straight girl and I like to dress like a boy and I am not as feminine as society wishes to be. Because it is comfortable. Not because I want to be a man.
06:47 I don’t think she understands the concept of being a feminist...just because you are a feminist doesn’t mean you hate men??? It’s devastating that feminist/feminism is considered a bad thing in korea....
To be honest sometimes I also get jealous of women because I want to have children with my partner but I cant because we are a gay couple so sometimes i think that I want to become a women just for that reason

I think they should invite lesbian lipstick too, so ppl could know that lesbian who looks like a women exist. Usually ppl get shock when a long haired woman with lipstick says theyre lesbian and ppl be like "you dont look like one"
This exists because "progressive" radfems spread female supremacy and misandry in the name of feminism. These very same people eschew the concept of pure egalitarianism.
oooh! I had no idea about the cigarette thing. So considerate! 🥺 also, I sometimes wonder if the long hair thing has to do with being able to pass (and stay safe) in normal korean society...
Thank you both for your patience. I think people are so ignorant and they have to be more open about sex and love. Thanks and congrats. Ruth from Spain.
When i came out to my friends one of them said "Yeah i dont really mind it as long as you dont have a crush on me" and i simply said "i like girls but that doesn't mean i dont have taste. You like guys so do you like every guy you see?" AITA for replying like that?
Homophobic assumptions to be exact :< Most of the assumptions where kind of homophobic and it makes me mad because I also have lesbian friends and thats just rude to ask those things
I’m lesbian but I’m feminine presenting so I could easily pass as straight 😅 I have long nails, hair past my butt, and don’t want to become a man. I always hate when people pull the “do you like me “? No i don’t 90% it’s some ugly mf who think we just go with anyone which not true ( I myself am very very picky) If anyone has any questions about lesbians or being lesbian feel free to reply!!
Straight people are really confusing and funny too😂for someone who's country doesn't support LGBT I've faced lot's of funny and weird situations.... where straight girls assume you be liking them... others try to seduce you 😂omagaaad....I think it's high time they understand that jhus coz we like girls we don't like every girl.... personally I'm picky and way too choosy and never settles for less.... and I barely like straight girls 😂💔
I agree with everything they said (set aside the feminism misconception) except when they talk about lesbians as in two separated thing like masculine and feminine lesbians... That's bringing more misconceptions in my opinion. "Lesbians like us like feminine girls" Lesbianism is about women liking women no matter what they look like, there's no "man" and "women" so why should there be preferences that matches feminine with masculine 🙃 and I mean I see this misconception a lot, but coming from an educational video about lesbians is really something else, my gf and I are both pretty androgynous and have feminine friends dating each other, it's just women loving women, there's no rule or pattern
i’m kinda confused about the feminist question and why they had defensive reaction. is it like a dog whistle in korea for "man hater"? because the majority of lesbians i’ve encountered do identify as feminists too
I've never thought of it as a dog whistle, but basically, yeah. It's because South Korea is such a patriarchal society that empowering women in the traditional sense of feminism to form equal standing with men is seen as putting too much focus on women and instead of thinking about it as women "rising up", they see it as men "falling down" to the "female level". Hope that explains it! Hu made their own comment about it if you would like to understand the reasoning behind it :)
"I am actually curious what kind of brains these people have who ask such questions" EXACTLY TELL EM GURLSSSS I'm so pissed eventhough I'm not lesbian that's just so brainless wtf
when i came out as bi to my best friend (who also happens to be my cousin) she was worried and asked me 'you dont like me tho right???? i feel kind of weird..' LIKE WDYM ?????? i will not like every woman or every man i see lol not to mention shes my blood
im laughing at the black or checkered clothes and dr.martens bc... wow that's 50% of my wardrobe and fashion sense and i'm bi (+demisexual i think) lmao
Honestly if you told me that was two gay men I would say, ya, that makes sense lol. As a gay man, even I couldn't tell they were girls just from looking.
I was surprised when yall said yall had a lesbian youtube channel because I thought you were men, but then it hit me and I was like 😮 "yall are women." I'm sorry.😂
It’s easy to make that mistake, especially since they are wearing men’s clothes and have short hair. If they wore makeup it would be easier to recognize.
Those people who complain about feminism are the ones that either feel superior to women their ego hurts or they just haven’t seen the world yet … they’re living …in their strawberry world grow up kiddo

Too true. I would open the lesbian-sapphic umbrella even more though and say we're non-men that love other non-men, which is why I prefer the initialisms wlw and nblw. That may be too wide for some though, but I would love for enby people to be better accepted!
@@someoldytaccount T H I S As an enby myself, you have no idea how much I appreciate this comment, I think you're absolutely right, I struggled with my sexuality once I settled into my gender identity (bc my partner also came to terms with being nb recently) until I decided that fuck it, I'm not giving up on the lesbian label after so many years being fearful of it bc of sexualization of the term... I do see a lot of ppl saying that's disrespectful towards the trans community but honestly it's my journey and what I feel like identifying at the end of the day according to my assigned gender and what I had to struggle bc of it... sorry for the ranting, just got very excited there's more ppl talking about this
@@atlasprdx No need to apologise! It was a beautiful rant. I'm questioning if I may be enby and so I'm trying to come to terms with this community's short comings and restrictive labels/ideas so that I can better see where I may fit. Personally, sapphic fits me better and that understanding is definitely because of the sexualised identity of the lesbian label, but also because it's directly in reference to Sappho and her highly emotional, poetic love (where lesbian refers to where she lived; Lesbos) and that I feel it's a term more intimate than lesbian. But that's just my feelings for the word. Hope you and your partner are doing well :)
I'm lesbian and one way but my hair is long bcoz some reason that I want to work abroad but some places required long hair but on late 2000's my hair is short
Honestly, the questions just seemed like dumb questions. Like the one about lesbians with long hair liking girls with long hair. I never knew that short or long hair was a contributing factor in whether someone's a lesbian or not. Thought stuff like that is trivial y'know but I guess someone thought long haired lesbians only like long haired lesbians and the same for shorthaired lesbians. Never would of know that and long haired lesbians can't be with short haired lesbians XD
I'm really confused about what South Koreans think feminists are. Like I get not liking radical feminists, I don't think anyone does...but the core value of feminism itself is literally nothing bad and there are so many kinds of feminist ideas. I'm also confused how it relates to lesbianism (the two of them did try to explain but honestly how the the topic itself is perceived in SK is so strange to me. No hate two the girls, just a topic I got hung up on). Even if we pretend like feminism is "just hating men" it makes me laugh because it would literally have no effect on men, they wouldn't lose shit since we live in a patriarchal society in this world. Honestly the hatred of feminism is just born out of misogyny and the ridiculous fear men have that they could possibly be treated the same way they treat women in this society. Hilariously ironic if you ask me.
Its the same with gays tbh we also like more masculine men instead of feminine BUT to be honest its mostly a preference like most bottoms prefer a masculine guy and most tops prefer a feminine guy
right like internet got tips bro- although respectfully asking that kinda stuff isn't *inherently* bad but it usually is, however queer people don't get to be educated on this topic typically🧍
The question "you don't like me right?" after coming out as nothing but straight is so infuriating really. Like.... Do you, as a heterosexual, will like every single guy you see on the street? No,right? Do they think the non hets are tasteless? What an absolutely dumb question.
6:55 that's not what feminism is tho... it's wanting equal rights for everyone. I think everyone should be a feminist and want equal rights for everyone edit: just heard about the mistranslation of feminism in Korean

I really like the laugh of Woo. It's so cute~
She said she's always ready 👀
Being a feminist should not be an insult it's a matter of rights not girlbossing
What an excellent video! I hope we get another version with Gay men and transgender individuals! 🌈💖
You are doing such a great service of educating people. And you have the patience of saints!❤
I'm always so confused about lesbian girls so- this helps a lot haha! they r so adorable!
????? huh????
@@bummie I think she trying to say these 2 women in particular have adorable personality’s,not infantilizing all lesbians… I think… I hope at least 🥲
@@Nusasen3584 i was talking ab the fact that she was confused ab lesbian woman 😭 as if gay people are different that straight people LMAO
@@bummie oh yeah that part was definitely strange too.But mehh, some people are just incredibly sheltered lmaoo😭,I’m just glad she recognized it & is actually open to learning & doing something about it
Now I'm questioning my sexuality.
These women are just ✨gorgeous ✨
Aww theyre so cute
I am a straight girl and I like to dress like a boy and I am not as feminine as society wishes to be. Because it is comfortable. Not because I want to be a man.
A tomboy then
The grey shirt girl is so fuckin handsome, look at her side profile (pause @3:02) 😳
Im a straight girl btw
Oh gawd the hand convo lmao. That's the truth.
06:47 I don’t think she understands the concept of being a feminist...just because you are a feminist doesn’t mean you hate men??? It’s devastating that feminist/feminism is considered a bad thing in korea....
한국의 페미니스트들은 남자를 싫어하고 혐오해요. 본래의 페미니스트와 전혀 다른 방향으로 가고 있기 때문에, 한국에서 여성에게 페미니스트라고 하는 건 욕입니다.
To be honest sometimes I also get jealous of women because I want to have children with my partner but I cant because we are a gay couple so sometimes i think that I want to become a women just for that reason
Well you can always adopt or have a kid through surrogacy
felt bro, but although it's expensive and hard, I hope I cant adopt one day, idc if it comes from our body lmao but finding other ways is harder than people make it seem right???
I think they should invite lesbian lipstick too, so ppl could know that lesbian who looks like a women exist. Usually ppl get shock when a long haired woman with lipstick says theyre lesbian and ppl be like "you dont look like one"
i don’t like that feminism is seen as such a bad thing, when the girl said “i like men!” to the feminism question.. feminism is not hating men lmao
This exists because "progressive" radfems spread female supremacy and misandry in the name of feminism.
These very same people eschew the concept of pure egalitarianism.
These girls are more manly than me as a guy 🤣🤣🤣
oooh! I had no idea about the cigarette thing. So considerate! 🥺
also, I sometimes wonder if the long hair thing has to do with being able to pass (and stay safe) in normal korean society...
Lol...
What's aita?
Homophobic assumptions to be exact :< Most of the assumptions where kind of homophobic and it makes me mad because I also have lesbian friends and thats just rude to ask those things
its the bowl cut for me but this vid is really great and love you'r vids
I love that they are educating their audience and entertaining these questions, ridiculous they may be.
I get it that some people are open to discussions whether or not they’ll accept it but some people are just a holes jumping to conclusions
I’m lesbian but I’m feminine presenting so I could easily pass as straight 😅 I have long nails, hair past my butt, and don’t want to become a man.
I always hate when people pull the “do you like me “? No i don’t 90% it’s some ugly mf who think we just go with anyone which not true ( I myself am very very picky)
If anyone has any questions about lesbians or being lesbian feel free to reply!!
They’re both very good looking too 🤩
U guys R lovelyyyyyyy
i’m kinda confused about the feminist question and why they had defensive reaction. is it like a dog whistle in korea for "man hater"? because the majority of lesbians i’ve encountered do identify as feminists too
I've never thought of it as a dog whistle, but basically, yeah.
I'm a gay, but i can imagine married on of you. I'm still a gay?? 😂😂, You both so handsome
IK THEYRE JUST SO HANDSOME I CANT
when i came out as bi to my best friend (who also happens to be my cousin) she was worried and asked me 'you dont like me tho right???? i feel kind of weird..' LIKE WDYM ?????? i will not like every woman or every man i see lol not to mention shes my blood
@@chromeuserisme3551 ur right thx i'll use this the next time!
You are both great people, I hope you live happy lives:)
im laughing at the black or checkered clothes and dr.martens bc... wow that's 50% of my wardrobe and fashion sense and i'm bi (+demisexual i think) lmao
Honestly if you told me that was two gay men I would say, ya, that makes sense lol. As a gay man, even I couldn't tell they were girls just from looking.
❤️
I was surprised when yall said yall had a lesbian youtube channel because I thought you were men, but then it hit me and I was like 😮 "yall are women." I'm sorry.😂
It’s easy to make that mistake, especially since they are wearing men’s clothes and have short hair. If they wore makeup it would be easier to recognize.
not me being focused only in their faces cuz both are handsome and can make me beg HAHAHAHA jk
Those people who complain about feminism are the ones that either feel superior to women their ego hurts or they just haven’t seen the world yet … they’re living …in their strawberry world grow up kiddo
I agree with everything they said (set aside the feminism misconception) except when they talk about lesbians as in two separated thing like masculine and feminine lesbians... That's bringing more misconceptions in my opinion. "Lesbians like us like feminine girls" Lesbianism is about women liking women no matter what they look like, there's no "man" and "women" so why should there be preferences that matches feminine with masculine 🙃 and I mean I see this misconception a lot, but coming from an educational video about lesbians is really something else, my gf and I are both pretty androgynous and have feminine friends dating each other, it's just women loving women, there's no rule or pattern, the illusion of a pattern is just the hetero normative view of relationships making its way through society and ignoring the actual multiple cases proving that "pattern" wrong, just to be more comfortable with the existence of wlw couples since in their minds it still matches the man-woman relationship dynamic...
Too true. I would open the lesbian-sapphic umbrella even more though and say we're non-men that love other non-men, which is why I prefer the initialisms wlw and nblw. That may be too wide for some though, but I would love for enby people to be better accepted!
@@someoldytaccount T H I S
As an enby myself, you have no idea how much I appreciate this comment, I think you're absolutely right, I struggled with my sexuality once I settled into my gender identity (bc my partner also came to terms with being nb recently) until I decided that fuck it, I'm not giving up on the lesbian label after so many years being fearful of it bc of sexualization of the term...
Ok you can be lesbian and have long hair
I want to know the most popular kpop artist among lesbians 😁😁
Honestly, the questions just seemed like dumb questions. Like the one about lesbians with long hair liking girls with long hair. I never knew that short or long hair was a contributing factor in whether someone's a lesbian or not. Thought stuff like that is trivial y'know but I guess someone thought long haired lesbians only like long haired lesbians and the same for shorthaired lesbians. Never would of know that and long haired lesbians can't be with short haired lesbians XD
This is what happens when one's perspective of lesbians is mainly butch lesbians.
@@Imitationist exactly! I still find it interesting that someone actually had a thought of this
Umm am I crushing on Hoo ? 🤭
Aaaaaaassh Good looking Hoowon
so nice!
7:06 is it just me or the women at the right when you pause kinda look like Park Bo-gum 🤣🥲
There’s fem lesbians and there’s masc lesbians
Are they couple
God, they're literally just like me😩👍
Its the same with gays tbh we also like more masculine men instead of feminine BUT to be honest its mostly a preference like most bottoms prefer a masculine guy and most tops prefer a feminine guy
fr i like both and somewhat prefer feminine to a point, and I'm decently feminine myself, same with masc guys, people think there cant be two mascs 💀
5:12 so trueee
Hoo is really attractive. Waaa.
Are they a couple?
I am also curious on how lesbians have sex BUT I DONT ASK THAT JUST WATCH A VIDEO FOR GODSAKE
right like internet got tips bro- although respectfully asking that kinda stuff isn't *inherently* bad but it usually is, however queer people don't get to be educated on this topic typically🧍

The question "you don't like me right?" after coming out as nothing but straight is so infuriating really. Like.... Do you, as a heterosexual, will like every single guy you see on the street? No,right? Do they think the non hets are tasteless? What an absolutely dumb question.
I would hope us lesbians have shorter nails bc that would hurt 🤭
Lovely
I m a lesbian and I ve got long hair😅
I don't work and I don't cook
Wait so being strong and stubborn is an insult?? That’s def some alpha guy who has masculinity issues
6:55 that's not what feminism is tho... it's wanting equal rights for everyone. I think everyone should be a feminist and want equal rights for everyone
edit: just heard about the mistranslation of feminism in Korean
