Such a shame he had it all with a big future could have been one of the games greats. Another player destroyed by alcohol and wrong decisions, well done mate 👍
During his time Jimmy was definitely one of the best centers in the game. I remember watching the 2018 SoO series and him and LM just dominating in the Centers against GI, Chambers and Gagai.
I genuinely believe he didn’t have much idea what was going on on the field, didn’t have a plan ahead of catching and running which also made him illusive and unpredictable.
a great player - troubled off field , sad how one affects the other and ruins a career . . . and the clubs don't do enough to educate young players to help avoid the pitfalls and more will go the same way . . .
At least he made it to the NRL and he was exceptionally good when he wanted to be and he knew how to find the tryline and unfortunately i have noticed in newspapers lately he's been in abit of trouble well he's most probably in some ways affected by his childhood the apple NEVER falls far from the tree 🌲 unfortunately and I hope that Mr James Roberts ends up getting his Life in some type of ordering balance 💯 percent 👍
He is best friends with my mate he always told us he never wanted to play the game he never liked playing he wanted to be a normal guy with a normal life he’s a really nice guy
A true enigma of rugby league. Felt like one of those players who only needed half-chance to explode the game. I still think about his solo try against the Roosters in 2018.
The same issue with people blessed with all the talent and skill in the world but just fucking dumb and abuse it. Jon jones another great example of unbelievable talent tainted by stupid consistent mistakes
I vividly remember watching a game and seeing James Roberts tackle someone and proceed to intentionally dig into his coit with all 4 fingers hard as he could and I’m shocked it was never brought up or seen my many people. That’s how I remember him.
What just like some of his family members who really weren't there for him when he was younger I believe that's apart of why he's having problems NOW he does need some type of professional help but not behind bars it's too easy to just chuck them away like that and just forget about them you've got to have a heart
@@StevenGuegens I grew up with only a mother after being abused, beaten and raped by my pedo father, then abused by my uncle til I left home, I had to also fend for myself, I grew up, pulled up my pants, got an education and didnt blame the world for it, I am now a father, lawyer, and happy and never ever been in trouble with the law, remember, what you focus on expands....
Everyone is subjected to the rules & laws, you cant get your shit together, you no longer can stay. Unfair to players who do their best to live within the rules.
When a player goes from club to club you know that he won’t last in the game, as good as he could have been the demon drink got him like it does all people but he was good at Souths
This sport goes out of its way to apologise for and try to protect players who have had many indiscretions. Even if they include assault or violence against women.
Another highly talented player moved from club to club, instead of having experienced welfare managers that could understand his issues and get him the help he needed.
A missus that did everything she could to help him but unfortunately he doesn’t want help? Don’t blame the missus when you know nothing of their personal lives!!
First, and he my favourite player as a kid
Same! I loved him at the broncos and he was my childhood hero and made so many memories
one of my favourite speedsters of all time
Glass elbow
@mickeyballoons3963 that is what he got on
The media bagged him, Good Bloke,

CENTRES
I genuinely believe he didn’t have much idea what was going on on the field, didn’t have a plan ahead of catching and running which also made him illusive and unpredictable.
I think the issue with him was that regardless of what he did, there was always a team ready to pick him up…..until there wasn’t.
He retired because of back issues from the tigers ?
@@Palmwhatlol he was loose cannon
@@mitchelltownes6251 he retired medically hurt this comment makes no sense
Sounds like Aruna Tumata
I'm sure the Tigers would have given him another year mate
One of the fastest players ive seen on a footy field.
He still alive and well. Still in shape and ready to go again.
Good bloke
This guy was an absolute freak of a centre and easily would smoke Hamiso, Reece Walsh, saab etc, dude athleticism in speed was crazy.
Hamiso???
@@nahzewilliams5912 bro at his peak athleticism he would smoke Hamiso by a good couple metres. He could do the 100m nearly flat 10's.
I loved watching Jimmy the Jet play. Truly electric speed
One of those players you just wish had a senior player or coach who could reach him on a personal level to help with his off field mental wellbeing.
No senior player or coach could of helped him. He needs professional help!

I watched a few games of the seasons he was with broncos and thought for sure this guy would be with us for years.
Enjoyed watching Jimmy the Jet good luck to him
Would love to see all the speedsters play Jet, Fox, hammer and Turbo
He is best friends with my mate he always told us he never wanted to play the game he never liked playing he wanted to be a normal guy with a normal life he’s a really nice guy
He’s playing for northern United now back on north coast. Great player.
yeah give us a flogging on the weekend
A true enigma of rugby league. Felt like one of those players who only needed half-chance to explode the game. I still think about his solo try against the Roosters in 2018.
Still was one of the greatest to play. Too bad women fk around with a lot of successful men’s lives
Alcohol and attitude ruined many a person
He is not a very good drinker. Maybe he should practice harder.
More speed than Oxford Street
Another case of all the talent in the world without the work ethic
😂😂😂 work ethic? He was always hitting lines and wanting the ball you bellend
At his peak he was the fastest player ever to play the NRL
💯% was a beast..... yeah the jet 👌
These are so cool! You should do Matt Hilder next 👍🏽
I saw him at a service station off him rocker not to long ago.
They should do one on Curtis scott
The same issue with people blessed with all the talent and skill in the world but just fucking dumb and abuse it. Jon jones another great example of unbelievable talent tainted by stupid consistent mistakes
No father figure at the upbringing leaves them compass-less
Gus Gould said he didn't know anyone who had bethought what Jimmy had and was still alive , all this before he even started playing league

Need to reach out to the man
They should also do one on John hopoate
well we all know what happened there & where he is..
Yeah, let the kids know how much of a sicko he is! He shouldve been locked up for sexual abuse.
i couldve sworn he was working as a trainer for the cowboys last year
Back then it was jimmy the jet 🛩 vs The fox 🦊 Nobody could touch them💯 nowadays guys like hammer and saab don’t come near this guys in their prime.
awesome content
What a nightmare that .guy is, seems the best place for him is behind bars, just to keep the public safe.

Always seamed like a great footballer in a grub of a human
an incredible player with freakish speed, but appears he was not fast (or wise - i.e. learn from one's mistakes) enough to overcome personal demons
When a player goes from club to club you know that he won’t last in the game, as good as he could have been the demon drink got him like it does all people but he was good at Souths
Y.O.L.O....👍
Jimmy is still playing he plays with northern united in lismore

This dude had more acceleration than Walsh.
Nice work. Ewan mcgrady would be great.
Brother why are the images you use so dark.... Brighten them up 🤣🤣
Check your phones brightness
He chose the pokies over footy in his final years of NRL
Another highly talented player moved from club to club, instead of having experienced welfare managers that could understand his issues and get him the help he needed.
Maybe he refused the help. Doesn’t seem like the most cooperative lad out 😅there
Alcohol & a shit misses.
A missus that did everything she could to help him but unfortunately he doesn’t want help?
Don’t blame the missus when you know nothing of their personal lives!!
Swear this guy doesn’t even actually watch footy, how are you not gonna mention his speed once
he used to me my neighbor back in like 2016 lol
🎯
I always Thought Jimmy The Jet was awful Very Short Lived Nickname for Teddy. Happy to see im wrong
He has speed, but wasn't good under high kicks and in every game he always drops balls..
More clubs than a golf bag
James retired because of his back all these armchair experts on things James Roberts have got no idea.
Unfortunately he believed what was written about him and thought he could do anything to late he realised you really have to work at it 😢
Whats the difference between Jimmy and a jet engine?
Eventually, the jet engine will stop whining.
Talented player but the aborigini in him is strong
