HXH got a remake since the original only covered to arcs and ended in the middle of another one. Did yuyu's anime cover everything? I'd just like a remake so I could get into it, I only read the manga

The only part that wasnt in the manga was the final fights in the anime due to the ending for yyh in the manga being kinda half assed and kinda too quick they kinda had to add in fight scenes and extra dialouge stuff to make the finale more rewarding and less half assed and rushed

Odio Smiles welc if i were ypu if you watch the anime I recommend the dub, like the sub is honestly pretty basic no really good emotional preformances for certain scenes but the english dub va's actually having voices that suit the characters and being able to show a large array of emotion

Actually Kurama would be closer to 5000 years old, since his full fox form has five tail's. Kurama's true age is vague but the consensus is that he is generally somewhere over 1000. Also in Kitsune lore, fox spirits are not someone you want as an enemy since they are known to quickly seek vengeance. However if you do something along the lines of say 'save their lives' a kitsune would have a bond of loyalty towards you that lasts many trials, which would explain the companionship and loyalty Kurama does hold towards Yusuke since he states in a monologue that he feels he owes Yusuke a debt he can never repay.
This was honestly my favorite anime growing up.
Boy do I miss the days walking into GameStop (monthly) and seeing “Shonen Jump” mangas at the register. I still have a few copies of Shonen Jump laying around my room.

Additional fun fact regarding the Philippine dub, Because of Kurama's androgynous drawing the dubbers thought he is a woman and named him Denise. When they learned that he is a male they changed his name to Dennis giving an explanation that when he is in the spirit/Demon world he becomes a male. And they never brought it up again. Oh and they made the same mistake on Genkai too, Mistaking her for an old man.

Fact 109: Justin Cook in preparation for directing and casting watched all 112 episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho in Japanese before the casting started hence why both the Narrator and George share the same voice actor for all 112 Episodes

Kurama is still one of the greatest characters written in manga of all time. Hiei and Kurama were my absolute favorite. I own the series on DVD, but still need the final 8 issues of the manga.

Yu Yu Hakusho was notoriously famous in Brazil because the portuguese dub was filled with brazilian slangs and references.

Justin Cook made that dub. A lot of the writing, the feel, the attitude, seamless emotional shifts. I’m convinced.
He was also asked to voice Yusuke in the English dub of the series.
This is the show I put all other "epic" anime against when viewing for the first time and almost all fall horribly short. Amazing voice acting, (all being unique with different tones age and nationalities god forbid now days) characters you really REALLY understand and are given actual time to develop and some in incredibly subtle ways. No filler, at all! (Some kinda lack luster episodes though but very few) Music that's Amazing. Villains that are relatable and aren't just power hungry morons. With some of the most gripping action in any show period. Today's anime just doesn't have this heart. Watch it if you can. :)

This is one of the top best shonen manga from Weekly Shōnen Jump So I wouldn’t be surprised that people would say this
I love this show but that's an awful practice if i had done that with madoka magica or any other non shounen anime I'd drop them in 1-2 episodes

Yu Yu Hakusho is literally my all time favorite anime/manga, and its because of the characters. I wish we had something for the anniversary here in the US...

I honestly didn't know Togashi was the mangaka behind Hunter X Hunter. All I ever heard was how the mangaka didn't need to write it as a full-time job, so he took several hiatuses as a result. I always pictured some young rich punk and so never approached it. Now, on the other hand, I feel damn near obligated to support him, especially with how rough the man's got it.

this is still after all these years my favorite anime ever, even after watching probably around 200 anime series altogether.

I have waited for this for so long ....
YuYu Hakusho was soo famous in the Philippines during its run in the 90s that it has the been aired twice in different tv networks in mid 90s and 1999. It also aired in a primetime slot which for an anime is not common here in our country. I was also shocked that the names were changed, I did not know Eugene's name was Yusuke.

The series aired in my country in 1997. It changed my childhood. I'll never forget this anime.

The Brazilian dub of this show is hilarious, it's different from the others in that there's much more colloquial language than most dubs, with many slangs and snarky remarks. Love this show so much.
In an early chapter, Yusuke and Kuwabara are saved from a gang of half demons by a rose. They shout "Whos there!?". Kurama appears and says "It's Tuxedo Mask "

I know for many people DBZ was their intro to Anime, but this was mine. First Anime I ever watched, first manga I ever read and still to this day one of my all time favorites.

About the Philippine version changing the main characters to Western names: our country's broadcasting companies during that time got used on "Americanizing" every single anime or even Sentai shows along with dubbing them in Tagalog or even sometimes in English (I also remember the later episodes of Dragon Ball in the arc when Goku faces Piccollo when the English dub was slowly transitioning to Tagalog by saying some Tagalog words while still speaking English which makes me alienated) that they always change the characters' names to Western ones. Another example of that is a Sentai show Space Sheriff Shaider in which the main character Dai Sawamura was named Alexis.

Togoru: because he is one of the most complex bad guys in anime. He was evil but only as evil as your average human. He did things cause he wanted to not cause he was an agent for Chao (pure evil and does things just cause they are evil). Also he was the one to push Yusuke the farthers

Later on when i was in grade 4 they showed this in animax, that's where i knew their real names but up to this point when i talk to people older than me who watched this show before ,still address them with their tagalog dubbed names.

I also like to think the the fox spirit that posses Naruto (which is named after Kurama) is a 6000 year older Kurama. The trouble with that theory being that Naruto Kurama is weak against plants.

in Philippines yyh was so popular the network decided to change the title and names of the characters to be relatable and reach massive audience during it's airtime.
it was aired during primetime 7pm together with voltes v and etc.
during that time anime was at the peak of its popularity in the 90's. imagine a top network battling telenovelas and gameshows with anime haha.
Even my dad got hooked he liked kurama and i like hei. we always argue who's better. oh nostalgia.
