Saw Benny Greb give a clinic at Ellis Drum Shop in St. Paul, MN many years ago. He mentioned how the drummers from India were very advanced in their understanding of rhythm. For some weird reason known only to Greb, he then stated that Indian people look weird and wear weird clothes. Being a Hindu American of Indian origin, I should have spoken up and called him out publicly for such racist BS. Other than that, excellent clinic.

Hey everyone, just want to let you know that links to all the transcriptions are now in the description box of every video. I had some requests from people wanting to download the transcriptions so now you can! The links will take you to my Google Drive folder where you can download png's of each transcription. Let me know if you encounter any problems! Thanks

Hello Austin. I was wondering what kind of drum samples (plugin) do you use on Logic... When you do the Midi notation stuff. Thanks for doing this is really really helpful for all drummers. Much Love.

Austin I am a 68 year old hobbyist drummer and your work is fantastic. As the other Comments have said you are a humble guy who also can really play. The breakdown, aided with your technology apparatus, of stuff that is a blur to the ear is, as far as I can tell, one of a kind. Keep up the great work. Did I notice you have started working with the great folks at Drumeo?

Thanks for a great video. You really are able to make a very complicated pattern understandable. But I think your greatest achievement is being appropriately reverential of Benny while demonstrating some pretty formidable technique of your own in a very humble way. A lot of people who make these kind of videos seem basically like dorks. You seem like a pretty cool guy. Thanks.

You're a really cool drummer and an even better teacher Austin, we normal mortals can't compete with beasts like Benny or Chris or Vinnie or Simon, Jeff, Dave , Jojo, Steve ,Marc,Buddy or even Phil but they always have been a great inspiration to me to at least try to get the best out of me...and just simply watching these guys their fully dedicated approach and all suddenly can make you play stuff you actually thought you can't...:)

Great lessons buddy! you explain pretty well! there are thousands of drums teaching on the web, many in which the professors don't really explain things in a very accurate or clear way, but your lessons buddy are really helpful. I wish you could have a lesson focused on double pedal speed and grooves on them. There are amazing drummers out there who perform impossible fills with the double bass or twin pedals, I'm sure you will choose something fantastic which make your classes cooler and make you an amazing drummer too.
