    2-3 weeks for a mechanic, $130 nd hour.. I don't do car stuff but this looked like even I could
    do it. And I'm cheap. Car running rough. Auto Zone test said plugs and coils. Got them 40 minutes later-
    2006 running smooth again. Great video! Short and sweet with everything I needed! THANK YOU !

    Thanks to you bro, I don't have to spend a couple hundred dollars to pay mechanic to do it. Just a note, you could have mentioned to check the gap on the spark plugs and show them how to do it because, 75% of spark plugs you buy are not gapped correctly. One hell of a video bro. Kudos

    I have an 2003 Altima, but with the 3.5 instead. Could you guys do a video on the 3.5 next? I haven't found anyone as thorough and as good at explaining things as you guys and would appreciate the guidance.

    I actually changed my spark plugs before on my 2005 Altima. I ended up having my Allen head screws strip on my engine cover. I ended up replacing them with bolt head screws

      C. C. Lol I all of my Allen key bolts stripped so I just took a hammer and smashed the cover off. No need to even deal with it anymore

    A careful cleaning of those plugs and re-gapping would have likely been all that was needed. They appear to be Platinum electrodes and quite pricey. Good video.

    Can I just use a normal wrench? I don’t have a torque ranch

    • @oraciogarcialeonjr.2802
      @oraciogarcialeonjr.2802 3 года назад +2

      You can, just don’t over tighten it. Tighten to a nice sturdy feel. Don’t over exert, or you will strip the thread.

    First time I am critiquing this site...should always check gap, though they say plugs come pregapped, I have found enough in my years that were off. A DAB of antiseize for aluminum heads is probably a good practice and finally dielectric grease is always a good idea on ignition coil boots and electrical plug.

    I have never torqued my spark plugs, just tightened until snug. I asked my dad and he was like, “No. Don’t torque them.” Now I’m confused 😂

    Can I ask you a question bro? I've seen a 2006 Nissan Altima, the same one you are working on for $4,000 but it has 94,000 miles on it. That car is 17 years old and I am skeptical about the mileage. Even though it has a digital odometer can they roll it back? Thank you.

    Please help! First off thanks for the vids. Just changed my spark plugs but now am.worried i may have overtightened one plug ( torque wrench wasnt on lock position so.i kept turning till i realized) now either the plug socket wont grip or the socket is spinning freely.. Also when i tried to put ignition coil back on the spark plug it did not want to insert so i screwed down the igniton coil hoping itd slowly make its way in.. Started up just fine but im wondering what could this cause.. And how could i get my plug out.. Ill be buying a magnetic plug socket and see if that works but should i be driving like this?

      If the car seems to be running fine,then yes,that's okay to drive it like.althought, the plug in question should be addressed sooner than later.

    Ok, so I performed this process today, and when I removed the ignition coil, the channel was full of oil. Is this normal? I noticed your was dry.

    • @buckstophurr
      @buckstophurr 4 года назад +8

      Not normal. Change valve cover.

    • @Angel-qx4tb
      @Angel-qx4tb 4 года назад +2

      The rubber seals on the valve cover may be warned out from normal use causing a bit of oil to slip in those spark plug wells. I recommend to get a new valve cover. Make sure to remove as much oil as you can before you remove the spark plugs. You wouldn’t want any oil to get into the cylinders.

      Did you figure out what the problem was? Did you look down the spark plug tube first to see if any oil was in there? If oil was in there and it ran into the cylinder it would burn off and could get nasty

      You definitely can't interchange them, because there is timing circuitry that ensures that fire in the right order. That's all I know though.

    No lube on the spark plugs?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  5 лет назад +3

      +Salvador Moran Thanks for watching! Many spark plug manufacturers do not recommend putting anti-seize on the threads, as it will change the torque specifications when installing. This can cause you to over-torque them, thus breaking the threads. 1aauto.com

    • @royquesada3151
      @royquesada3151 4 года назад

      Can you show us where on the boxes of spark plugs it shows that? A small dab would probably change the torque value within the +/- tolerance of a pound.
