You WILL be in lots of pain. Especially now that Tylenol is considered appropriate pain control. Be prepared, TRY to find a pain Dr that will actually put his patients first and not just cover his own ass...Good luck on that one
I was under a doctor's care for 12 weeks. Every three weeks I went in to get an sray to see if anything had moved or I had dislodged the fusion. It is not normal to damage a fusion. It had to remember that even after the 12 weeks is over, my body is not as strong as it was prior to surgery so I couldn't do everything yet until I got stronger. But my healing and pain was pretty much over in a couple of months after surgery. I spent 2 nights in the hospital. There was an orderly to helped me to roll onto my side in the middle of the night. I mostly slept on my back. The pain meds helped a lot. I wouldn't be too scared to do this surgery if you really need it. It helped me a lot.
haha blabla--I'm 2 months out from having a TLIF and doing great! Heck I was only in pain about 3 days and was walking a mile within 2 weeks. Before surgery I couldn't walk across my house without hurting! And the surgery was in the DFW area! haha bla bla bla
I had plif 2 fusions,2 bone graft cages, took a full year to recover and feel normal
I was feeling no pain after 2 weeks with a TLIF!
Thank you. The pain really scares me. I appreciate your explanation on how long each recovery period takes.

@@lynnphillipi3536 Thank you for updating us. I hope you are continuing to improve, and will have a completely successful recovery!
You should have addressed the nerve pain upon the nerves waking up. It’s really painful unless you have medication
I had that surgery 6 almost 7 yrs ago still in pain so don't lie
sorry to hear that. No pain after 2 weeks post TLIF for me.
Interesting that you do mostly TLIFs. I've been offered ALIFs by two doctors here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Why do you prefer TLIFs verses ALIFSs?
I will answer ur question don't do back surgery lol
@@sutkos3288 and why pray tell?
Jay, especially in Texas BEWARE of post op pain and the lack of pain meds you will need
