I think they beat Georgia tech, Pitt, and cal. I think Georgia tech is a toss up game however I’m giving the edge to the home team there. Plus I think Syracuse’s offense will be better than people think. The issue Syracuse has had with Pitt all these years is that Pitt out “physicals” them, especially at the line of scrimmage. Fran brown has been building up their size and so I think they compete up front. That leaves the game to the skill players and that is advantage Syracuse. As far as cap, Syracuse is just more talented and overall the better team. Better prediction is 10-2 with a chance to surprise nc state and Miami.
There are too many questions. Scoring through the passing game, can the QB survive the entire season, game management can steal a game and protect several wins, can coaching staff make adjustments, can they not come out flat, injuries must be minimal. A decade of these issues points to impossible.
@@jbartosch8233 Agreed that injuries could impact the season especially if McCord goes down. He is a pocket passer with not much mobility. If Allen stays healthy it will balance off the QB weakness. The effectiveness of the OL will be the key for McCord s success.
We are going to know after a few games. There is smoldering anticipation with the McCord/Gadsden combo along with Allen at running back. All three are NFL caliber players. Our defense will be an even bigger surprise than offense. I have watched Syracuse football since the 60s during my undergraduate years. I think they will win 9 or 10 games and go to a decent bowl game.
Being outdone by Rutgers in recruiting shows that brown ain't recruiting well. Can't get a 4 star to stay. Don't think we do to bad this year, 5/6 wins. But 3/4 next year. No decent QBs next year. And pena and OG seem to still be affected by injuries.
Per 247 2024, recruiting had Rutgers 1 spot above SU bc they had the same # of 4 star and a few more 3 star. Rutgers is 108 in transfer recruiting and 55 overall. SU is 24 for transfers and 36 overall. Rutgers will get their heads kicked in again this year.

I think Syracuse goes 8-4. 4-4 or 5-3 in ACC play.
