This football season might be more important than we thought. Success or lack there of could very well impact what side of the velvet rope SU athletics sits. And it’s not just the on field success. We need to pack the dome for every game to show SU can bring excitement, energy and most importantly eyeballs from the North East. This team and coaching staff can do it. I am biased as a Syracuse sports fan and one of you and Mike, but this was one of the best pods I have listened to in a while. Really great takes by Mike around the future of college sports and how conference realignment and NIL are going to throw this all for a large loop
College sports has always been about natural geographical rivalries and markets too small for professional sports. The people who want two super-conferences want to cut those out of the picture in favor of large TV markets where professional sports will always dominate.
