- How To Downgrade NVIDIA Graphics Card (GPU) Drivers
In this video, I will be showing you how to downgrade your NVIDIA General Processing Units (GPUs) current driver version to an older version. This video can also be used to rollback your NVIDIA GPU driver to one version back. If you're experiencing problems with your NVIDIA graphics card, after updating its driver to a newer or latest version of the driver, then downgrading your NVIDIA GPU driver to the previous version or to an older version may be a solution. It is often the case that updating your NVIDIA graphics card driver to the latest release, boosts your computers performance, however due to the fact that PC builds are varied, compatibility issues can occur between updates and therefore installing an older version of the NVIDIA driver can reverse the issues you're experiencing.

Steps To Downgrade NVIDIA Graphics Card Drivers:
1. Open up your browser and navigate to the following URL address: www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/...
2. Scroll down to Manual Driver Search and select from each section your appropriate GPU driver and system information. You must select the relevant options for each of the following sections:
• Product Type
• Product Series
• Product
• Operating System
• Language
• Download Type
3. Click Start Search
4. Click "Get Download" for your desired driver version and download type (GeForce Game Ready Driver or NVIDIA Studio Driver). Pick a save location if prompted to start the download
5. Open the NVIDIA graphics driver installer by double clicking on it
6. If you're on Windows, you will be prompted by the User Account Control to allow the NVIDIA package launcher to make changes to your device. Click Yes if you want to continue with the driver downgrade
7. Pick an extraction path location for the driver files to be saved or click OK to continue with the default extraction path
8. Click Continue
9. Select a license agreement. You have two options: NVIDIA Graphics Driver and GeForce Experience or NVIDIA Graphics Driver. If you choose the NVIDIA Graphics Driver license agreement you will install the driver only.
10. Click Agree and continue
11. Select an installation options. You have two options: Express (Which is recommended by the installer) or Custom (which is a more advanced option allowing you to pick and choose which components you want to install)
12. Click Next
13. If you selected the custom installation option, you can deselect components that you do not want to install such as HD Audio Driver, NVIDIA GeForce Experience (depends on which license agreement you chose), Physx System Software, and USBC Driver.
14. Once the NVIDIA installer has finished the installation of the older driver, click on Restart now to complete the installation.
Congratulations, you have successfully downgraded your NVIDIA GPU Driver.

Thanks. Most current drivers tanked the frames I got on Minecraft. From consistently over 100 with sildurs shaders to under 60.

@@MHD25th Honestly 546.33 & the one before that would make an invisible line on my screen as if the pixels on my screen where lagging into one another. It was most noticeable when watching videos, but sometimes noticeable when playing games and honestly I was hoping 546.33 would help fix it but I guess not...

Sadly I'm a Halo fan trying to open Halo Infinite and of course like clockwork something is wrong with one of their shaders so I can't use the current driver. After crashing for 2+ weeks every time I opened it, this has solved the problem. Thank you.

Was your games crashing left and right? My Steam client and all games on Steam and even CoD on Battlenet kept crashing like you wouldn't believe. Reinstalled the current driver just to see if it works but I'm losing my mind thinking my PC is busted, though nothing I'm checking is claiming it is.

Fr bro, thanks to 531.18 now my pc had BSOD every time.
This was causing high GPU temperature even on low wattage consumption.
Now after downgrading temperatures have reduced by almost 10 degrees.
The new driver was causing high temperature above 85 degrees which is the GPU Temp limit.
Yeah, I have multiple blue screens due to nvlddmkm.sys (nvidia driver) when using adobe software.

Let Nvidia GF-E update my drive this morning on 5.31.23 and the update made my Samsung G7 intermittently act flaky with screen flashing from normal to black screen and freezing the screen with graphic errors. Manually rolled the driver back to the previous one that was released earlier in May. Now everthing is back to normal.

thx, newest driver blue screened my laptop every time I tried putting it to sleep. didn't want to break anything trying to "fix" it, while waiting for the next update that should have a fix.

Ever since I did the nvidia driver update before the 555.99 version my gaming PC has been randomly going to a black screen saying there no display port signal and the GPU fans go full speed!!

@@dikogerypangestu9222 found out my issue was the junk power supply that came with my PC. Replaced it with a new Corsair and my 4070 runs perfectly fine now!! That and I downgraded my drivers to the 552.12 i believe… whichever one is right after the 551.86. Those 2 in my opinion are the best ones to go back to. I went with the 552.12 cause it had a COD update in it

@@Leon-uz9gb try the oldest update of rtx. It always works, try the one that before December 2022 update. But it isn't optimal on premiere pro 2023 and can't using Nvidia broadcast.
