Bob's "Christian Phase" resulted in some of his best music, and it's never ended.
Actually, there were three albums and many more with Christian references. He was never booed "off the stage" and he has never "rejected faith in Christ."
Slow Train is one the top best of Dylan albums in my opinion!
Absolutely
Agreed!
Once I I got all the juice out the expected albums and realized how good some of the songs on slow train are a who new juicery opened for me
You must be relatively young to say that.
@@charlesvanderhoog7056Don't know if that remark is patronizing or reductive....or both!😂
"Slow Train Comin", that's a mighty piece of music.
No wonder this guy was so good... look at those ears!
hahaha nice comment
Here's a good thought: Your ears may be that big too when you're 80 years old. haha
Why say that ? there is really no need.
where I live, they say big ears means long life . Just what I heard say here@s.
i really like this guy...I think he gets a bad rap sometimes, mostly out of jealousy for his unreal successes...he seems to REALLY respect the musicians which he makes no claim to be.
the man coined the phrase 'rhythem and blues'...you dont get much more iconic in the music business...
bless and protect Bob Dylan and all the people of the whole world.
"If you believe in forever, then life is just a one-night stand. If there's a rock and roll he-a-ven, well you know they've got a hell of band." And Jerry'll be producing it! RIP. You done good down here : )
Slow Train is the one, Bob's prophetic statement.
Bob remains faithful to his Messiah. Still sings Gotta Serve Somebody, Slow Train Coming, I and I, Every Grain of Sand. He often opens with a hymn as he did for his 2002 concert series with I Am the Man Thomas, I Am the Man.
Awesome ❤❤❤I am a Man

GEEEENIUS JERRY I never realized that he brought Mark K on board and everything comes together - God works in mysterious ways -
R.I.P jerry wexler
There have been a million songs with Christian themes since his conversion, he drifted from the people that were using him for their own purposes.

Doug Sahm's band back then was "Sir Douglas Quintet" they had a hit called "Mendicino"
C’mon Bob, play somethingg not relatively recent

RIP Roger Hawkins 🥁
Don't you think Palestinians would like to enjoy their culture, too? You might want to try seeing things from their point of view. Look to Dylan's songs for wisdom . . . don't ask him to solve your problems.
ww leslie the removed his Song! From B. Dylan!😢😢
Our Jerry Wexler tribute song and clip "The Righteous Road" at /watch?v=vAzSEZBsPlA includes the Slow Train album and a shot of Bob and Jerry in the studio. Also many others Jerry worked with. Hope you enjoy it.
This is possibly the Etta record session Bob turned up to and played piano to Wexler. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_in_the_Night
Very interesting, fun and Extremely cool story ❤
when you need a producer with Real EARS, Jerry has'um
Slow Train...great insight into Christian lyrics. Sad it wasn't permanent, but a good genre for Dylan to explore. Not so sure about his apparent electronica phase!
...looks like it's wall to wall Jesus...said Wexler
Looking forward to listening to this
@1954telecaster 1979
@baddaboom It's 'Doug Sahm and Band'.
WHATS THE RECORD FROM 71???
Dylan became a Christian and he wrote his only Christian album. Tragically, He was booed off the stages in Seattle, Portland San Fran, LA, and Phoenix. He quit. Eventually he rejected faith in Christ too.
Paul Bortolazzo I don't think you know your facts at all. And Bob was never booed offstage. He had three gospel albums
Donnacha Foley what were the titles of the 3? I only knew of one so would love to hear the others!!

Slow Train Coming - 1979
Saved - 1980
Shot of Love - 1981
He didn't reject Christ he just went back to Judaism after a brief flirtation with Christianity.
Entirely incorrect. He still believes Jesus is the son of God til this day. He produced more Christian albums and he still performs these songs. When he played in china for the first time he opened with Gotta serve somebody…
