Slow Train is the one, Bob's prophetic statement.
Great interview! Fun to get some detailed insight into how Dylan made some of his music from a producer's viewpoint, especially one as expert and articulate as Jerry. Thanks for the upload!
Very interesting, fun and Extremely cool story ❤
Music can change your life, and it is heart changing with the Gospel message. Don't let the Devil steal your heart & soul. ☺♥†♪♫ 9-25-2022
Atheists! They will make up ANYTHING to avoid believing in God! Dylan was absolutely converted. GOD IS. If Dylan left the faith subsequently, that does not mean the gospel songs he wrote were not inspired by the Spirit. Williams does those “finger parentheses” because he does NOT want to serve anyone but himself. He has to call “Serve Somebody” simply a “work of art” so as to avoid facing Jesus. “What will you do with Jesus, Mr. Williams?” To put in terms of another Dylan song, “Something is happening here, but you don’t know what is, do you Mr. Williams?” Actually, you DO know what is happening, but you refuse to see because you refuse to cease from your sinning. I became converted as a result of hearing Bob Dylan’s gospel song, “Serve Somebody.” Mr. Williams, your soul is at stake. Your pretensions will be the eternal death of you.
Hebraic heavenly aid?!!?
Nick Cave's introduction to Dylan. And Christ👻
3:14 ...who that lady singing?

...looks like it's wall to wall Jesus...said Wexler
Back in the 1970's I fell in love with a beautiful woman to Slow Train Coming. 'Precious Angel' was the song. I've never listened to lyrics.... I just loved the music! I still love the music of Slow Train Coming but now, because I understand the true meaning of it. Dylan's heart and soul are spiritual, and he reveals himself with his beautiful lyrics.
Dylan & The Dead’s slow train & Queen Jane are always exciting at each listen for me. and Bob’s original slow train is stupendous
Keith Green had influence on Dylan but died tragically in plane crash. One wonders if this affected him.
So lucky you guys in States. We need kevin in Europe so badly! 🙏
Fantastic album, maybe even his best.
Bob's "Christian Phase" resulted in some of his best music, and it's never ended.
Thank you
The iron hand it ain’t no match for the iron rod The strongest wall will crumble and fall to a mighty God For all those who have eyes and all those who have ears It is only He who can reduce me to tears Don’t you cry and don’t you die and don’t you burn For like a thief in the night, He’ll replace wrong with right When He returns Truth is an arrow and the gate is narrow that it passes through He unleashed His power at an unknown hour that no one knew How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice? How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the wilderness? Can I cast it aside, all this loyalty and this pride? Will I ever learn that there’ll be no peace, that the war won’t cease Until He returns? Surrender your crown on this blood-stained ground, take off your mask He sees your deeds, He knows your needs even before you ask How long can you falsify and deny what is real? How long can you hate yourself for the weakness you conceal? Of every earthly plan that be known to man, He is unconcerned He’s got plans of His own to set up His throne When He returns bobdylan.com/songs/when-he-returns
Paul Williams was the Best. Best Bob Dylan Author. Best Human Being.
when you need a producer with Real EARS, Jerry has'um
Looking forward to listening to this
The songs never die It's like blowin in the wind Might go other places Other people sing em The songs keep on going 🌬️🌌
People need to realize when he converted, his own people disowned him, the music industry, those of his religion.
Bob remains faithful to his Messiah. Still sings Gotta Serve Somebody, Slow Train Coming, I and I, Every Grain of Sand. He often opens with a hymn as he did for his 2002 concert series with I Am the Man Thomas, I Am the Man.
Awesome ❤❤❤I am a Man Thomas
so called? can a man not change his belief system or become a better person through Christ?
"I wasn't talking about religion. I was talking about Jesus." Bob Dylan
I just learned more about making a record than I ever heard before.
great ears for music
The irony in that short exchange they had about the New Testament is that Jerry said he was "more into that earlier one - King George one" - of which there is no such thing. If he meant King James he was clearly unfamiliar enough with the Bible not to realize the "Old Testament" is what he was no doubt referring to. No disrespect to this obviously nice and very talented man. I say this because this is the condition of the world. Ignorance in what they discard/disregard before they even read it. Its too bad.
"Slow Train" and "Shot of Love", yeah. "Saved" stunk: didactic, heavy-handed, unmusical.
There is no so-called "Christian era" for anyone. You either come out of the darkness of being a heathen and bow your knee to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or you are a slave to the Devil. Bob Dylan beautifully sings, "you gotta serve somebody". Dylan CLEARLY and IRREVOCABLY has given his life to Jesus Christ. Will you?
Please , who does write the song Gotta Serve Somebody? Sinead O'oconner ? I loved it.
The invisible man in the sky and the baby Jeepers...
YES; Bob really found JESUS and JESUS lay hold of him !+!
AMEN!
Bob Dylan so talented...💘
This is possibly the Etta record session Bob turned up to and played piano to Wexler. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_in_the_Night
