  • Since day one of Evergoods, the CPL Series has been our bestseller for good reason. But as we’ve evolved our product line, we’ve also raised our high standards. In 2019, Kevin and I discussed how we could improve the breathability, durability, and sustainability without sacrificing any of the CPL’s signature feature sets or appearance. Over the course of three years, we crafted new custom textiles and revisited manufacturing to achieve a new pinnacle of Evergoods development. Today we’re excited and proud to present to you the result: the next evolution of the CIVIC PANEL LOADER.

    Best bags in the business, not even close. I CANT stress enough when using this, just how much thought went into the design and how well everything works. Insane.

    Amazing video! Kevin explained everything extremely well. Details like why the fabric is called 'ballistic' or the yarn dying process, the increased durability of rotating the fabric, all super interesting. These thoughtful details sold me. Will be ordering!

    This looks reeeeally good! It has all the new things I wanted in the very first revision (except I really loved the matt material and didn't mind the hair pickup). Excited to get mine. You guys have really outdone yourselves!
    The new dying process is mint, I just hope everyone else would be as conscious of the environment too...

    Props to the people that you help you sew and manufacture these bags. Even if you have an amazing vision, those people help make it a reality for the rest of us to enjoy. Last bag I got was the PLC20, and it's amazing. Your bags level up this game like nothing else.

    Despite having my CPL 28 for more than a year and a half, I really enjoyed this video.
    The prefect backpack just became more perfect and beautiful.
    I love your philosophy: to upgrade what needs to be upgraded, only when it reach your standards. Not following ”upgrade annual seasons”.

    Ordered the 28L, pretty excited, thinking about making a bottle holder that attaches to those two vertical loops at the corners. Would have spent extra if evergoods offered the xpac in the 28L mirrored because I’ll be using it mainly for one bag travel and the aqua guard zippers would be nice to have.

    I wish we could see some of the 35L features on the smaller bags. While the 35L has the water bottle holder and luggage pass through, I prefer to travel with something more like the 24L as a personal item on my existing carry-on rolling luggage, so that it fits under my seat and feels like a regular backpack at my destination. I can't really figure out why these features go missing on smaller bags and feel a bit crazy for expecting it and not seeing it anywhere in the market. I guess people lose the need for water when carrying a smaller bag. I often see larger bags with the pass through, but then I don't see the practicality of the larger size since it won't be able to be stowed under an airplane seat (if filled out), so then I'm left with 2 carry-on items that need to go in the overhead bin or get gate checked

      Tim - We do have a smaller bag with water bottle pockets - The CHZ series. Our CPL series was intentionally designed to be low drag on the exterior. So, no external pockets or luggage pass thru. Totally get your desire for those features tho. Jack

    Could you tell me what liter water bladder is used in this video please? Also how is it attached to the loop inside? The bladder looks like a solid loop and the loop on my other evergoods packs doesn't have a clip it's solid too.

    I wonder if you are aware that the bottom edge of the bag tends to dig into the lower back? I came across the problem on the web and I can confirm this after buying CPL28. Will it get any better after some time when the lower padding gets worn in?

    I love the features of this pack, but is the new fabric used PU or TPU coated? Are any of the fabrics used in this pack PU coated? I ask because literally every pack that I've owned that has a PU or TPU coated fabric has devolved into a sticky mess over time (on the order of 4-5 years) rendering the pack completely unusable.

    So, solution dyeing can only be in black right now? Or could it maybe possibly be done in other colours too? I would adore a silver or tan CPL

    • @evergoods_

      Black only. When we do colors we would still need to do traditional dying.

    Question for the CPL owners out there who are frequent fliers. How does this design work for you vs. the traditional pack style where the laptop and admin sections are accessed from the top? I am frequently accessing my laptop, magazine, pen and a water bottle, is it awkward accessing those from the side? The Evergoods design, materials and workmanship look incredible, so help me buy (another) pack?

    • @henryjtodd
      @henryjtodd 8 месяцев назад

      It’s not awkward; you set the bag down horizontally naturally as it stands better that way and the front and large interior pockets are accessible. If you need dedicated water bottle access though this probably isn’t the bag for you (they have other bags with external dedicated bottle pockets).

    Is the main textile a filament fabric or textured fabric? I find that textured fabrics tend to hold onto pet hair and filament fabrics are more forgiving. By the looks of it, it’s a continuous filament fabric, like a lighter weight version of 1680D Cordura but want to confirm. Not a dealbreaker either way, but you strike me as people that pay close attention to the details and can actually answer this question (other bag-makers have been way less transparent than this about materials used, it inspires confidence in your brand for me). Love to hear that it’s solution dyed and that areas prone to abrasion are sewn on the bias. 420d nylon for for the interior lining is also a really nice touch. Most companies are using lightweight polyester even on Nylon shell bags to save a buck.

    • @evergoods_
      @evergoods_  Год назад +1

      You got it! Our 840D is not air texturized. Pet hair slides right on by. We mad a full video about the textile here on the channel check it out!

    Well, they almost got it. The stretch pocket is altogether unnecessary and redundant with the laptop compartment. Removing it and shaving a bit of excess padding would reduce some weight and space and would make it the perfect solution for onebagging. Shame.

    • @evergoods_
      @evergoods_  Год назад

      That is an interesting point of view. The internal stretch pocket takes up about a few millimeters of space. It is hard to see how that affects anyones ability to pack that compartment. It lays flat and offers another space to store items or use if the laptop compartment is fully in use. At any rate always good to hear other points of view. Thank for for sharing.
