- Beloved actor Richard Belzer has reportedly died at age 78, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Although Belzer enjoyed a long career, which dates back to the early '80s, he's best known for his role as Detective John Munch on the long-running crime drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

One of the _very few_ times my eyes welled up was when Munch bid Olivia & Noah farewell 😭
He & Jerry Orbach were perhaps my two faves from the L&O franchise. May the two of you revel in paradise, free from all illnesses
Makes me want to cry. I really liked Jerry Orbach also. The show is not the same as when these actors were on it but still a great TV series.

@@harperstacey9604 that's something. I love Henry winkler. He always made me laugh. Loved him in the Hallmark movie. Wish he would be in more of them. Such a great actor. So sad we lost richard one of the greatest actors. I really liked him so much on SVU.

I loved this actor on SUV. He was such a great actor and one of my favorite on SUV. Farewell to a great guy and actor. Just one of the best we have lost on TV and movies.

In addition to his outstanding acting and stand up comedy he was a great author. His delving into the Kennedy assissination is so spot on. I have both his books on it and couldn't put it down. He will be missed and I loved Richard.
I first seen Richard in the movie Scarface. He was the stand up comedian guy in the club where Al Pacino as Tony Montana got shot at in the movie scene & He was Henry winkler’s cousin😃 God Bless him🙏🏻
The character Munch originated from the tv series Homicide. Going to miss you, he was so nice to me.
