  • The show begins with reactions to the semi-final matches and an in-depth breakdown of the high-level series played between T1 and JDG, ending the latter team's attempt at completing the first Golden Road in League of Legends history. Thorin and Monte preview the finals and discuss how Weibo might hope to defeat the T1 juggernaut in a meta the Korean team has defined, but the opportunity appears slim. They chat about the variety of roster moves rumored for LCS and LEC teams, including G2's former members regrouping under Heretics' banner.

They really think Faker is forced to only play 3 champs instead of just deciding to play the best champs.

1:35:48 ...that is really uncool, man. You're making fun of someone who shared their sincere feelings and experience... via automatic translation. If they said "I will always support Faker. He was the first professional gamer to acknowledge me as a new eSports reporter." ...'cause I can almost guarantee that's what he said... but it was translated. By a machine. Call me next time a support literally invents a metagame that is so dominant in his region to the point that Riot has to nerf an entire suite of champions out of the support role. Look at the start of the tournament what adcs people thought were good, only Keria forced the bot lane meta to change. The Xayah Kaisa prio is totally gone. Because of him, T1 walked into their last two games with a huge advantage. Even if all players had played equal, the meta shift that Keria caused benefits his team uniquely more than anyone else, because he was the best at it, and they have the most practice on it.
But yeah, every pro does this it's not special at all. zzzz @@prestoiidx

@poetrollem326 if you think the meta shift is because of his play then you're balls deep on t1 cock, people have been playing all kinds of picks bot for years, he is just a player enabled by his team, anybody with eyes can tell he isn't anything special, if someone were to be impressed by him, that'd just suggest they themselves aren't good and aren't capable of it, even regular shit becomes impressive in the eyes of a bronzie. Before the match, the two X-factors I had coming into the series was Knight and Keria that were the players who could ultimately decide the fate of the series. Turned out Knight was completely outperformed by Faker and he had no real impact in this series while Keria's Bard was huge when it came to T1's victories. Also had the prediction after T1 lost to Gen G in spring finals that T1 wasn't gonna win anything until Worlds this year. I've been rooting for T1 since 2021 worlds and boy was this a journey. T1's consistency is surely proving that yes you can indeed rely on talent from your own scouting system to breed new players and make them the stars they are today.

I think that could work to determine one version of ascertaining the "best" team but it would break from the difficulty of worlds. It's a one shot best in the meta/ all metas in the moment tournament. More about surprise and nerves and the " it takes a whole year to get here" feeling and it may be their last. Reminds me of the final stages of the world cup. Much harder to win but not a guarantee that it's the absolute "best" team that comes from a whole season of play and chances. Different kind of best. However, it can overlap with seasonal success, msi success etc. but as JDG showed us, that's extremely hard to pull off.

3:16:45 A short side-note on those ARAM changes. They proof that Riot is willing to engage with the concept on a surface level but not seriously because they are actually just horrible.
So you have champions that deal 90% damage. Then you have champions that takes 90% damage. That is obviously insane because it results in an interaction where one champion only deals 81% damage to another. Same is true for 110% damage dealt VS 110% damage taken, resulting in 121% damage taken. And there are champions that have both of these interactions going. Or worse.
In addition there is a debuff that reduces damage taken past a certain range by up to 30%. So including that a champion like Ziggs deals as low as 57% damage with his Q to someone like Zeri. All while taking 132% from her.

The weaknesses of adc support were exposed in games 2-3, and JDG actually had a much better bottom lining phase in all of the games, while T1 was the team winning out in the 4v4s and 5v5s. I think Zeus is a hard lock to stay on T1, even when Faker was out he was the star on the team and he's been looking absolutely insane recently, while also remembering that he has now reached back to back world finals in his second full year of pro play. Oner is the most likely to be out imo, has looked really good at worlds but looked the most lost without Faker. I think in terms of raw skill, T1 would rather Keria, but from my western perspective the fanfare surrounding Guma is something T1 would value, and Guma over a 5 year period is probably only second to Peyz in the LCK.
Also on the MVP note, I think I would have to give it to Zeus if they win. He's just been thrown down the gauntlet of Bin, Zika, 369, and TheShy. Bin and 369 were the universally accepted 1st and 2nd best laners in the world and he gapped both of them, and also gapped Zika who has looked EXTREMELY good in the LPL. The fact that T1 has not had to deal with any of these top laners taking over the game like they do against everyone else, including each other, has made their run much easier.

I don't disagree with Zeus but its really hard to pick MVP just because how well everyone performed on T1 at this moment. Faker would likely get it though based on his popularity and saving a few games that they likely would have lost as long as he keeps performing.

Same thing happened this spring for T1, they were clearly better than GEN. And proved it at MSI.
If the winners bracket team doesn’t get a run back. They should make it a bo7 and give a free win to the upper team.

I liked the video overall but I think that making fun of the korean reporter for no real reason at (1:35:55) was kinda uncalled for. As a rookie reporter having a legendary player like Faker be the first person to treat you as part of the industry could mean a lot to a someone. You say that Faker is just someone who is good at video games but isn't that the same for literally every sport? Messi is just someone who is good at kicking the ball by your logic and people in Argentina(and also a lot of people around the world) almost treats him like a god and I've never seen anyone complain about that.

Everything he does is contradictory and it's so blatantly obvious he's a blind hater. He generalizes the T1 fanbase as entirely "toxic" and "cringe" when in reality it's only a select few of them being so vocal on the internet. And he takes the hate on the players.
