THANKS, I HAVE A 2005 GATOR CX with a 10hp Kawasaki engine. I can not find any videos about oil change for that machine. Your engine layout is different, but I was able to get some very useful information. Example, using the ramp to elevate the Gator, the Zirk grease fittings and more and access to the oil plug is in a different location, but accessible from below.in a similar fashion. . Thanks
I was not so lucky as you hand loosening the oil filter at break-in interval on my new 2020 TS because it had been overtightened at the factory. I could not get a socket driver over a cup filter-remover due to the very narrow clearance between filter top and transmission case. I ordered a slim profile cup operable with a box wrench as handle from Deere and the cup rounded the filter! Then my mechanic showed me a trick: He took the band filter wrench I had set aside because the 6" handle interfered with nearby obstacles and he shortened the handle by cutting off all but about 3 finger widths leaving only a stub handle. Worked great to give me generous partial turns. Handle cutoff might also work for other Gators and for some car filter jobs which have clearance problems..
Glad you were able to get it. My TS just developed a drip that I think is transmission oil, so I have to solve that before long. It's been a good rig so far, we have somewhere between 600-700 hours on it and it gets used every day of the year at our place.
dude, i have a CX and i have been looking for the oil filter for SO LONG. at first i gave up thinking there wasn't one, but the service guide says there is on my engine. the problem is my year has an all plastic bed, so the engine is completely surrounded in metal heat shielding. its all patches too so it doesn't come off in one big piece. i'd rather not disassemble the entire damn engine bay to change the filter lol
My TS didn’t come with the oil filter add on kit. I bought one but it doesn’t come with instructions!! Can you take a pick of exactly where the oil filter is so I figure out where this bracket/adapter goes? Thanks
Thanks for the video. Just trying to do some research on these. I just won a TS. It has to be ordered and it will be about 6 months before it is delivered. Just wondering how you like this machine.
Ours has been great, I think we bought it around 160hours and after a year it is about 580 hours. We use it a lot on our little farm. I'd say it's all positive with 2 little things to watch. The mudflaps in front of and behind the rear wheels seemed to get caughtup in the wheel enough they are all broken off.. Not an issue for us. In the winter, there was something funky with gas getting from the carb to inside the engine turning the oil a milky color. Probably because of short trips and never getting the engine hot. I wish I had a solution to this and will have to watch it close next winter. Seems fine all summer so far. Enjoy your Gator, that's awesome you won it.
@@daronspicher Thanks so much for the reply. Trying to learn all I can while I wait for it to arrive. Appreciate the information! Looks like it is not really road legal with no seatbelts or tail lights. :/ In our county, I don't think I'll have a problem going down the gravel county road as is.
You are welcome to doing 1.7 when you change it. I am happy and fine with 2.0 in mine. Don't give feedback to people you don't know what you are talking about.

awesome video ! about to change the oil filter and oil myself tomorrow
Did it work? Hope the video helped!
Thanks for the video. It’s only a 5 min job after you spend 6hours removing the factory oil filter lol

Thanks the oil filter was the mystery for me @
Glad to help

Yours must have had a oil filter kit installed on it, TS models don’t have an oil filter from the factory.
We bought it used with about 120 hours on it, used by Deere at the factory for shuttling around. Anyone else have a TS with a filter?
@@daronspicher we do
So is filter backwards threads or standard?
Next time show the filter removal and install.

Lol Joe biden style 👍😆 really helped me out in a pinch with this video. Thanks for making the tutorial.
Hi thanks for the tip now have u got one for the transmission same ts gator my is a 2005 4x2
I haven't done anything with the tansmission oil yet.
There’s a oil filter kit on Amazon for $55
That must have all the stuff. Spark plug, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, oil... ?
No that’s a kit to install an oil filter, they didn’t have an oil filter from the factory
I will never buy a John Deere again. They made servicing it impossible. Ridiculous, I mean ridiculous.
Joe-Biden style HAHAHAHA
You added too much Oil. Don’t give tips to people if you don’t know what you’re talking about.

What a horrible video lol
