  • How to make a simple pop pop boat from house hold materials. This video tutorial shows you a step by step guide for making a model pop pop ( put put ) boat from an empty coca cola can, a juice carton, 2 straws and some blu-tack. Easy and great fun idea to make with kids. Use an Epoxy glue rather then blu-tack to make the boiler stronger and last longer.
Be Careful not to cut yourself on sharp drinks can, you may want to wear safety gloves.

Brilliant, followed your tutorial virtually word for word using two part epoxy resin as you suggested. Total success. Will post a video on my channel when I have finished editing it. Thanks. I have seen plenty of videos on the subject but yours was the simplest to build. Less than an hour from start to finish with it popping happily in my bath.

I had a boat like this when I was a kid. Not sure who made it but looking back it had to be hand made. it had a candle powered boiler but just air no water in it. The heated air inside still makes bubbles come out the exhaust pipes..and the candle was a tiny tank of candle oil with a wick that stayed lit for hours. The boat was made of tin and was soldered together. I wish I still had it..so many hours in the tub with it! :)

That boat looks like it’ll take 57 minutes to finish but it’s the best way to make a great boat with a cabin.I want to make a boat just like that one but my house doesn’t have any blue tack or tea light candles.I think if I did make it and it worked every time,I would spend 2 full hours playing with that😀😀😀😀😀

First time I tried my boat out it went into the middle of a lake and had a leak so the water put the fire out causing the boat to slowly sink while I watched it.

As much as I love a sinking boat, that sounds sad considering the work you could’ve put into it

On the 4th try it actually worked! It is not easy to get the boiler airtight but you get better at it after a few tries and a few cans 😂
Glue gun does not work. blue tac is the way
