Carlsbad is a unique, gorgeous and unspoiled part of SoCal. I have enjoyed the Carlsbad Marathon in January several times with its sunny, pretty route along the coast. Carlsbad is best experienced on foot or bike so one can see and feel the beauty of a smaller coastal town in Southern California.
Agreed! The marathon is huge and such a beautiful way to explore the area. Thank you for sharing!!
Looks really nice, can’t wait to visit 😎
It really is appreciate you watching!
It's crazy how expensive it is to live.
I wish someone would have told me/WARNED ME this about Carlsbad, and that is "...Recreational Fires..." Recreational fires are allowed/permitted anywhere in Carlsbad except on the beach or in a homeowners association. I have lived west of I 5 in the downtown area for 41 years and we have "recreational" every week pretty much everyday even July & Aug non stop and there's nothing I/we can do about it. (Decided to rent my place out in Carlsbad and have now moved because of this situation.)
Many people have small fire pits in their front and back yards and what's mind boggling is that it'l be 89 degrees in July or Aug or here's one for you the Santa Anna's are blowing California is on the news that the devil winds are burning down cities and big areas and people in Carlsbad are having their Recreational Fires going -- seriously! No bs! I mean you can't make this stuff up. What's interesting is if your fire pit is 15' from your house you can burn 24/7 365.
I'm in a duplex where the garages are connected where there's 36 units like that with no HOA, and everyone front door is 25' from each other - and people burn every week. It doesn't mater where your at in Carlsbad I've talked to many many people and they're going through the same frustration where they can't open their window because of this hobby of Recreational Fires burning daily. So what I did was I took numerous pictures and documented every time the police and fire dept was called out by me and others having the same problem which was a very long list, and that list was presented to the city counsel.
I wrote up and document everything, made a package with numerous pictures of all the fire pits actually burning and smoking out others apartments, condo's, and homes so I had "proof" not jut complaining whining words. I presented each package and personally delivered it to each member of those on the Carlsbad City Council with my name number and email, and did not get one response. I'll I'm trying to do hear is The Golden Rule, tell people, (because I wish I would have been told this) that if you do decide to move to Carlsbad I would highly recommend asking many people in the neighborhood your interested in about ""smoke"" entering their homes.
Thee other issue is the chimney smoke, Carlsbad decided to allow building etc go up higher so many people are getting smoke from chimneys. Again just trying to warn people do your homework on this major health issue. If you have any doubts on what I'm writing about please feel free to contact me here on YT, I will be more than willing to send you some pictures so you know I'm not just making this up. On thee other side of the coin Carlsbad is a good place to live if you don't mind the over the top crowds cars, and hard to find beach parking. Peace and good luck to ya.

@@qst0n350 Oh I tried from the powers to be, from the fire dept to the city counsel etc. The laws are written you can have a fire in a pit as long as it's 15' from any structure, and you can burn 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. So when y'all pay 1 million for dat lil 1200 sq ft home make sure those widows close nice and *tight.* Oh and buy a few of those (in case you have guests) oxygen tanks that the firefighters use and you'll be good to go. "Breath IN, breath OUT."
