Hey man please tell your barbarian friend that he can equip any ranged weapon so he never needs to be out of range. He will do more damage throwing weapons though that have the THROWN property. If a weapon says that then it will do its full damage when thrown plus his strength modifier. Thrown weapons are daggers, handaxes, tridents, javelins, and spears. Javelins are the most ideal because they are the lightest
Is it just me or was Dylan dashing for a bonus action? If so I wonder if he could also dash with main action in the same turn so double dash to get farther?
And yes every time you take the dash action it gives you double your base move speed. Since he is a rogue he can dash as a normal action then dash again for a bonus action for 3x the movement. If he was a thief subclass he would get 2 bonus actions which means he could theoretically get 4x the movement
I take this game too seriously lmao, I get so annoyed by all the things he could’ve done but just doesn’t, for example he has had a lot of moments where he could’ve dashed as action and bonus action but ends turn before using action, or taking sharpshooter and turning it off, never using it again lmao, but it’s fine, as long as they havin fun lol, it just always triggers me and I hate it, I take this too seriously lmao
As someone who knows D&D like the back of my hand (honestly probably better given that I don’t know the back of my hand THAT well) sometimes the things Shady or Patterrz (as the local D&D ‘experts’) make me cringe because they either don’t know or are wrong about something that are very basic knowledge. It is probably just a result of me knowing the game so well that things that aren’t basic seem basic. Though sometimes it’s the game, like skulker not being a feat and Ranger being the way it is (no Canny, Rover, or Tireless). Otherwise I am really enjoying the series. ❤❤❤

It's because he's a rogue, he can use Cunning: Dash to move around as a bonus action in order to get in position for ambush.
