To be honest, I already have a decent understanding on how to spot fake games but the only reason why I clicked this video is because I saw all the Pokemon games in the thumbnail 😂
Easy way to know if the game is read in regards to Pokemon heartgold/SoulSilver, Black/white version and Black/white version 2 they all have see through carts which should shine purple when put up to a light source.
Update: Note there are some counterfeit shells for this that don’t actually work for the Pokewalker, and some people replace the labels of cheaper NTR-031 with Pokémon.
Hey , you actually used my video idea ! Thank you so much 😊 Very informative like your other videos , now i have more confidence scrolling thru ebay looking to drop $100+ on Platinum/SoulSilver then i did before haha You have gained a longtime subscriber now & i can't wait to see your upcoming videos! Would be cool to see your Pokémon game collection if you haven't already did a video on it! Once again thank you!
Does Pokemon Platinum just have more shadowing under the Nintendo logo on the front cover. Mine does and it looks different from the other DS games. It looks like it does in this video as well. Either way, my game came with all the manuals even the rotom and ranger ones so I should be fine right?
Also, if you notice the differences between the codes saying NTR or TWL, that just means if the game is DSi Enhanced, so animated icon on DS menu and sometimes region locked on a DSi or 3DS.
I got a fake without realising and it wouldn’t save my game wish I’d have know before I’d spent 2 hours playing it 😩😂 massively regretting selling all my old games lol
Ouch. That's a bad fake. Good ones can save, same as N64. I'm on the fence about these. I mean if you buy them for your own collection, and sold your originals it's not bad. Don't re sell them intentionally.
@@andrewb5894 yea, I was able to play Sapphire (it is obviously counterfeit and starts with “The game can be played.” but can plant berries) until the 7th badge, just scared that if I continue the game it will delete the save, since I’ve seen people state their saves deleted after the e4 or sth.

so, I've been trying to find a real pokemon platinum with the box on ebay. are there any major pointers you could give on how to find an authentic one?
yeah i got my pkm plat complete few days ago in Australia a lot less fakes here. best thing is the code on the game box and manual not investigated but not seen fake manual replicas yet. so as long as all the codes match should be fine. but scary world collecting pkm games.
Guessing the $25 Pokémon platinum (cart only) I just bought a few days ago off eBay is a fake one 🤦🏻♀️ sigh. Will there be any real differences since the DS doesn’t have internet anymore?
Depends. If it is a good fake, then everything will work as intended. A decent fake will have everything except for trading between carts functioning. Bad fakes, usually have some graphical errors (like black speckles randomly) and typically Boggs down and glitches out periodically.
Bought a copy of Pokémon Diamond, thought I might’ve been scammed. It’s been a while since I bought on eBay and for a second I thought I got scammed because I didn’t really think too hard about the possibility it was counterfeit. Bought it at a really reasonable price 40CAD (everything else was around 50+). This cleared up a lot, I’m pretty sure it’s official now, but we’ll see when it gets here 😅. Thanks for sharing this info in an amazing video.
even the fakes are doing the number code on the back correct witch is making it harder now too tell if it is I used to use the number code too tell if it is real or not now I cannot the fakes are getting better .
I just bought pokemon black 2 with the box. I think the game is real but the box seems fake to me. Under the "E" for everyone, where it says "Online interaction not rated by the ESRB" it is red on my box but everywhere else I see that it is white such as in this video. Does that mean it's fake?? the box and the cartridge both say "IREO" so it seems legit but idk man the red font is throwing me off.
Hey I have a question and I really hope you see my comment I’m thinking about buying Pokémon diamond from someone everything checks out except 2 things the cartridge is gray and on the back we’re the numbers are on the green yours says L-7 while the person selling his cartridge says F-1 is it real?
EDIT! - Sorry! I miss read. If the numbers on the teeth are different that is fine. That just means it came from a different manufacturer than my cart did. The cart being gray is a little concerning, but it doesnt mean it is fake. It could be sun bleached (I have had one like that before).

@2:10 the bottom left sticker corner is rounded on replicas, they have not got the exact cur right. On Platinum, the first front left leg is solid on regular, holo on fake copies. Many more broad tips missed here, you just went into papers are the end, which, looks like you're missing some as well. No Nintendo Power code card?
