Great video, cheers Kirk, I've been experimenting with displacement in UE 5.3.2 works great on landscapes and blending. Is the 'Material Node' in 5.4 for Nanite available in 5.3.2
I don't think it is mate. I could be wrong. Nanite displacement worked in 5.3 but it works so much better in 5.4. And its a preview build. So will get better over time.
Hello and thank you. I have a question, how we could make Displacement Magnitude as a parameter in material? When I mixed Displacement with multiply of course it change heightmap intensity, But I need "nanite displacement Magnitude" value which is available in material self in editors. Thank you
Thanks for doing the hard work for us Kirk! This way I don't have to poke to figure it out myself (I mean, I'll still poke ... but this means I get to poke less :D)
Thanks for the perfect tutorial, but this material only works for the sphere, not the plates/box. If you have time, do it for a cube/plate. The plate is much more complicated, because the corners will break during displacement. Thanks a lot and I'll subscribe
I must point out that displacement under 5.3.2 and 5.4.0p unfortunately does not work for all graphics cards. Unfortunately, this applies to my AMD RX 5700 XT 8GB. But I have also heard of other cards like the 580 8GB. What a pity....
Yeah i read this on there documentation a couple of weeks ago. This has been the case with UE for a few years. It advances so quickly leaving behind the lower end machine. It is a shame.
@@KIRKSDo you happen to have a link to it? I haven't found anything. I reported it as a bug this week, but if it's already known, maybe nothing will change.... And the 5700XT is not that bad. As long as you can play Cyberpunk on high quality in QHD, the card should really still be supported^^
Nice Video but my Material not show the displacement has enable nantei in the ini, and install the nanite plugin and in the material enable nanite. i think i make something wrong your video is very helpfull to create matrial

Not sure why you dont have more subs! Excellent stuff!
Excellent Video. Most videos dont mention to turn on "Enable tessellation". Thank you.

We are all learning bro. Keep up the poking 😁

Under UE 5.5.p1Win1, tessellation now works with my AMD 5700 XT for mesh and landscape. I'm so happy^^
i have no displacement slot in the result node of the material, why? D;
@@Lisa-mz3nn have you turned on displacement in your material?
@@KIRKS thanks for your quick reply. yes i did every step from your video
