That's one thing that so frustratingly daunting about this feild. There are so many differant forms of it that I often have no idea which one to study.
Passed the 901 last week, planning on taking the 902 before May. Your channel helped a lot with keeping me motivated. Thanks a lot!
You got to watch to the end to before you can realize how good this video is for the beginner. I have been researching about breaking into the IT field from the health field. And this is one of the best videos have seen so far.
I'm late to this vid but this felt like the best advice for someone trying to get into IT. I got an Information Systems Management degree & I didn't learn as much IT related things as I wanted to so these resources & video are a huge huge help to me! Thank you for this!
Sweet! I literally just enrolled to get my certification, this is EXACTLY what I needed to watch to help guid my direction. Thanks for the content.
hey man just wanted to say walked into the IT field by becoming a help Desk analyst to continue working through out the pandemic fulltime in march 2020. I love to help people I love to tinker with applications and hardware. But after having 40+ law firms to support and the shit pay I wanted to thank you for the confidence boost. You video has given me hope to my next career opportunity Much needed Thank you
Found this very useful... Infact the question raised is actually my question and i am happy you answered it brilliantly.
I actually browsed the CompTIA website but didn't notice it had such a great PDF with an overview. Great video by the way. I hadn't realized Security+ was so relevant.
Thanks for the vid this has helped me a lot im studying for my A+ and i think i want to end up somewhere in networking. Really great help!
You videos are pretty much helpful. Now I know where to start! Thank you.
Im doing a Computing & IT bachelor of science with Open University (from home), and currently on a distinction half way through... really excited to work in the field and earn big racks !
Really informative video! Thanks!
I love helping people with a passion and working alone is fine once in a while but with a great team of people is awesome. I have loads of customer service experience. I love learning stuff about tech! Just listening to this video, I see my self more in IT. I took cosmetology class being a artist and while I was talking with my teacher she came out and said I could see you more involved in IT work, why I can't remember how the conversation started for her to say that but eventually I drop the class! Now that I watch this video, WOW I can see my self doing this line of work and it is amazing how she had the foresight to see that in me!
Your video on this matter is awesome man! It was of a such great help! I recently got my bachelors in MIS, and I have been all over the place trying to find my way through! Thank you!
Hello,
How are you doing with MIS? Have you find your way through? I just started with MIS bachelor.
Hey thank you for this video. This is going to help me a lot. Currently im working as a machine operator with experience in the dairy industry. However ive studied occupational health and safety as a diploma to start work as an H&S advisor. My real interest is a career somewhere in IT, im pretty much in the same boat as the person who asked the question. So now i have a little info on where to go.
The video is awesome. I just started school for IT networking even though I'm not exactly computer savvy. But I'm psyched to learn and get into the field. Your videos are helpful
Thank you very much for commenting! Good luck in your journey!
LeDaryl 'BigLo' Toney how is it going?
Daniel I was going to ask same thing lol
Am depressed here now😓
Wesley Pipes i too would like to know
Love your content, its nice to hear some general advices
Thank you for this video as all of your videos are filled with so much info that really helps me out. I'm currently using pluralsight right now as we speak and I absolutely love it! I love the fact that you ca test your knowledge on your subjects of interest to see where your IQ score for each subject you're assessed on. I just score a 118 on the Security Fundamentals and I'm new to IT. Right my background is in logistics and I have over 12 years experience in it and I'm looking to change careers because I want career where I'm constantly learning something new everyday!
Thank you for sharing. Your videos are very helpful for me to understand the IT industry. This will also be a good start for me to further study this subject.

I find this video very helpful to me. Thank you very much, and please keep uploading informative videos in IT like this. 👍
Thank you very much for making this video, very valuable information.
Informative! Thank you
I have this same question and this was great. I’m just really impressed at how supportive the IT community is. I’m leaving higher education which is full of red tape, egos, and thievery. Just simply robbing these kids with overpriced education.
You got that right
Yes many colleges are way too overpriced. Currently working an entry level IT job and my employer is covering my associates lol. Good enough for me atm.
Your videos are very helpful for me thumbs up! I am looking to get started in this field due to back injuries I can no longer work construction. So far you have given me clear insight into what my path should be and where to start thank you. You have a sub from me and will continue to watch your content cheers
Thank you and good luck to you in your journey!!!
This video is super helpful, big thanks
Good info., this vid has renewed my interest in the IT field.
Wow this was great, thank you!

Very useful video. Huge thanks!
Super helpful. Thank you 🙏🏽
Very informative. You're a great Talker. Thanks.
Thank you for for explaining IT in a way I can understand.
Great presentation. Very informative and thought provoking.
Your videos are very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
By personal experience, help desk is a good entry position. From there, it diverges. Either you love people and go into more admin roles or you hate people and go more into programing/development.
An amazing and really helpful video!
Hi, this was a great video it gave me a lot of insight on what to expect. I am currently in rolled in a technical college to obtain a cyber security degree. I already have a bachelors in criminal justice and I am almost 40. I believe this video has help me to narrow things down. I just now need to find Boot Camp for coding the 8+ and security plus certification so that I can get started in the business thank you.
thanks for this video. its really helpful.
Yea your video is really helpful. Thanks a lot
Very helpful, thank you!
Very informative! Thank you
Thank you! Good content!
Keep up the good work Seth.
This was SOOOOOO informative!! Thank you!
Hellow? Alyea
Where are you?
Very useful video. Already getting very motivated
Awesome info. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome! Glad I could help!
Great video. Really appreciate all the information. I spent the last 2 decades in the Coast Guard working on boats. I just retired and I no longer want to turn a wrench for a living. I’ve always been really interested in IT but other then writing reports ( Microsoft etc) I’m not very good with computers. I think I’m gonna enroll in a 2 year degree at the local community college. My question is do you think this is something that anyone with the right effort and schooling can learn ( even later in life)? I ask because everyone I know that’s ever done IT work have been hackers, coders, computer guys since they could walk. Thanks again for the great video. I’ll check out the sight.
Great video! I'm going to download the road map.
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions about the roadmap and good luck!
Thanks bro, very informative and interesting. 👍👍
Just stopped by to say Thank You :) you are a big help, because the recruitment desk dosent give you this information!
Very helpful info.thanks
Great video! I'll keep this in my back pocket when recommending different IT paths to my friends.
Well done vid! One lady at my work said she used to be an accountant but then changed roles into be a programmer and doing things with sql. Maybe that person you answered the question for would like the same!
Your videos is one of the most illustrated videos that I’ve seen, and I learn how to start my career and how to lookout for better understanding how it’s going to be my life in the it field, because I remember that coding in the past wasn’t my passion but how to make thing done a solve a problem yes 👍, so I’m going to starting my journey to the google it support certificate, and then the comptia A+ certificate. And see if I learn and develop a better understanding of the field and what a really want to do. Thanks for your videos and also, I want to ask you something, is a way to get certifications but free or almost free like, very cheap? Are they worth it? Thanks 🙏🏻
Currently in school for CBIS, with a focus on Network+ and Security+ because i work on an AF base currently, and have gotten to know quite a few IT officials. I might have an easy way into the system if i play my cards right and get the right certifications in time.
"Thank GOD", and thank you very much for sharing, your support and time 😉 What are the BEST study guides for MS-Office 👾 and study guides for MS-Office Development 🤔 Let me know 🙄 I look forward to hearing from you 😎🙏🏾😎
Thank you for the video. I was in the same boat as well. This is definitely some good information.
I'm happy to be able to help in any way that I can! Good luck to you!
great video man
Are you Seth Rogans brother? You sound exactly like him lol. Great content. Im looking to move over into the IT field currently and your videos are very encouraging.
very informative.
I appreciate this video more than you know. I feel so lost when it comes to where I want to end up. Enrolled in school and they’ve basically told me I have 2 classes I can take that will overlap with most of the career paths, and after that I’ve basically been told I need to decide what my major is.
It’s overwhelming because I keep seeing these videos where people get 2 years into a path and decide they don’t like it, and I don’t want that to happen. It seems asinine for me to have to pick a major or a specialization so soon before I even learned the ins and outs of the jobs. I’m terrified to make the wrong choice.
Same here man
Thank you!!!
Just want to say this video is amazing. I’m not the most computer savvy guy but I’m a hard worker and love to learn and I just signed up to get all my certifications in IT and three of the certificates are the ones that you talked about so I’m really glad you mention them makes me feel a lot better about choosing the school that I did. It all comes down to 15,000 just wanted to know if you think it’s worth it.?
Hey Johnny Cash, I love your music, especially that cover of Nine Inch Nails - Hurt - That is honestly the best cover song I've ever heard in my life...I thought you were dead though?
All kidding aside! I'm glad you found this video useful! Sounds like you have a good path set ahead of you.
As far as the $15,000 that sounds like a lot of money to me. You can join Pluralsight, ITProTV, Skillsoft or CBT Nuggets for less than $1,000 a year...some of them you can get their yearly price around $500 or less. Then the certification costs are around $300 a pop. So you could save yourself a ton of money by doing it that way.
However if you feel more comfortable being in a classroom setting I completely understand!
I hope this helps! Good luck!
I would say self study is the best path to IT Certification I believer COMPTIA has their own online training with live instruction will save you a bundle.
@@Itcareerquestions problem with self learning is that you don’t get a scholarship.
Good video. I’m back in school after being out for years for my Associates focusing on programming. I’m stuck in trying to decide which way to go networking or programming. I’m learning both currently
Thank you. Good luck to you! Both are great things to be learning right now, especially programming. Keep up the good work!
good video , thanks
Helpful video ☺
I loved this video, thank you very much. I have one question, does it make a big difference in the IT field,if I take my bachelors from community college rather than Big famous university ?
I really enjoyed your video and I am interested in the tech field. I have a question for you, what do you think of Coding Bootcamps, or I.T. Bootcamps in general?
will definitely have to be a typist
I've learned a lot from your videos..now i need a piece of advice from you.i've recently received an offer from mnc based in usa for service desk engineer..plz guide me what should be my future roadmap...i have decided to get into IT through this because i really enjoyed solving pc issues and helping people witj there problems.i also have a knack for security.
the font of the text on the monitor behind him reminds me of those commercials in the early to mid 2000's about piracy and it not being a victimless crime.
Thanks man
This video is amazing 👍👍
Thank you for your videos, i just found your channel. I am looking to start in a help desk role, however I am wanting to go either developer path or cybersecurity. Where do I even start? I'm thinking work, then school on the side. thanks bud, any tips help. Past experience is call center, cabling, and recently a contract as a microsoft data center tech.
Thanks for this video, been looking for information like this. Pls when can one take the CAP certification? Is it the best for a newbie in It? Thanks for your time
Ay Seth Rogen is Back with another one😅
AYYYY Seth Rogen in the house all day!
tht literally made me laugh out loud!!!
He looks like seth rogan
@@Itcareerquestions do you teach ccna aswell
Said what we were all thinking! 😊
Thank you I like it
Will an entry IT support/help desk role allow me to familiarize myself with all these IT fields? So I can eventually know what I want to stick with in the future.
I found out about IT Pro.tv from you and now pluralsight, is there anything else we should know about? Thanks Zach!
For the MCSA certification, would you recommend Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016?
Hi! Thank you for your helpfull videos! Could somebody tell me which certificate includes vmware?
How does one continuously learn in this field? What sources do you go to/use to stay up to date?
Great video! My roadmap are Red Hat certifications, I have RHCE I want to get on the RHCA level.
Awesome! Good luck down your path, I hope it works out well for you and Thank you as well!
What is the perfect it environment to work in? Ex: From home,in the industrial are,in an office..etc.
Thank you so much. Can you tell me what hourly salary I should expect in entry level IT ( help desk), and where can I study for the comptia a+?
You Rock!
I can vouch for Pluralsight being great but it can be quite pricey and I think most schools and public libraries give access to Lynda for free. Pluralsight recently took up Code School which was an amazing site to learn all sorts of programming (especially for beginners) but in fun ways. I haven't seen what it has become on Pluralsight but I imagine it's still just as good.
How does plural sight compare to station x? I’m looking to make a career change and admittedly I’m not sure how to go about choosing the most up to date, reputable training.
What camera are you using for this video???
I'm looking to make the switch very soon from HVAC to IT.
How come?
how do get to work alone? I was thinking about pentesting but I don't know where to go.
