The first time I heard this song was in 1977 on an island named Adak, Alaska. Me and a friend were standing guard at a Navy armoury and there was a major blizzard blowing all night. Hard to believe you can go from 18 years old to 60 and it seems like only yesterday.
Kurt -It was a great ride -I'm 60 too .I always tell the kids -"last week I was you" They look at me horrified -it goes too fast I wanna do it all over again............
Found this song through my grandpa. He loved Bad Company, and we listened to Bad Company at his funeral. I miss him dearly. I'm glad I was able to find this music through him. Rest in peace, Edward Earlywine. You are missed dearly, and you too granny. I hope you two are together in Heaven.
I’m a thirteen year old guitarist, my dad showed me this song and told me he would play it at my high school graduation. So far the beginning speaks to me so much , I hope the rest will! Love you all people!
My Son used to play this. And then He passed away at the age of 26. Every time I here this song I think of Him. When I listen to the wind I can still here him play. RIP ADAM TERRELL.

I really needed to hear this classic. Sometimes your only support system is yourself when you are trying to make it in life in the midst of struggles. Even if its for a brief moment sometimes its worth it. You leave a legacy behind when you become a candle in the wind. I wish songs like this were more heard but I guess thats why they called these songs special since they are rarely heard as much.

My all-time favorite Bad Company song. When Paul Rodgers said I was a shooting star it got me out of a crazy situation. Makes me cry, too coz my beloved brother died too soon. When I see a shooting star I think of him.
Thanks, Ken! I just listened to this again, what a great tune to be stuck in my head all day! When I saw them in the 70s, the stage started out pitch black. All of a sudden we heard the beginning notes of "Bad Company", a single light shining on Rodgers playing the piano as he rises out of the stage! We went crazy, it was so super cool, and I'm sure the weed was plentiful. Just like the T-shirt says-We may be old but we saw all of the cool bands, lol!

I JUST LOVE THIS SONG. MY FATHER ALWAYS PLAYED IT REALLY LOUD AND HE JUST PASSED AWAY IN JAN AT 63.. LISTEN TO IT EVERYDAY NOW! ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL SONGS EVER WRITTEN AND SANG ON STAGE!
The nostalgia in this song is so awesome. I was born in 91 but thanks to my dad, I got to hear the good bands. The music that actually told a story. As a kid I didn’t care much for some of it. Now I’m glad he did. Well, him and my little brother because he always wanted to listen to 106.9 the eagle

My band I heard back in the 70's when I was in high school and have followed their music since then. Paul has an awesome voice has never fails and always sounds the same as back then! Love to all of the band members and thank you for the outstanding music that you have played for us 'fans" for the love of your music!
I grew up on Bad Company and these songs still hit home for me no matter where my walk in life is. One of the most phenomenal bands to have ever walked this earth!!!
This is one of my all time favorite bands, this song helped a lot of people though tough times, you all are shooting stars. This is the timeless music that I grew up with.
I come by every so often to hear the songs my brother would play over and over. He would had been 65 this may. I miss him a lot. Was a great guy, fantastic brother. Just a total giver, gave and gave until there was no more to give. Wish you the best out there Steve. Take care man. I see ya again. You bet I will.
Man, I cry when I hear this song. It's still hard to hear after all these years but I LOVE it for more than one reason. My little brother, John was a great musician and could play a bass like no other. He played and wrote music since he was 13. John had various bands and one of the last played all over the country. He was a juvenile diabetic since age 7 and a alcoholic since he was 11. Everything was giving out, including his eyesight, pancreas , the works. He couldn't go on the road anymore and had a studio in the garage with a drum machine, keyboard set up etc. He knew he was dying and was loaded on pills as well. He drank a fifth of liquor a day on top of it. However, he wrote a great song called Love Turns Lonely about his ex wife. He had his vocal guy come in and sing and the best lead guitar guy he knew handled that part. They had some other tunes too included on that cassette that John wrote. On Christmas 1986, John went into another diabetic coma, but this time his blood sugar shot to 3000 and he was brain dead. We unplugged the machine on Dec. 26, 1986. He was only 24 years old. Some guy coned my mother out of that tape and some of his other music. We never heard from him again. My oldest brother and I use to speak a lot for NA, but Mark could NEVER share that part of his story. When I hear the wind blow or look at the last family picture of us all together on Christmas 1985 , I think back to the little boy named Johnny who grew up to be a Rock and Roll star. All of my immediate family is dead now but me and I miss them terribly, especially the humor that only exist in the way siblings talk to each other. Today I let the wind blow.....RIP John Wright Little.
acerb45666555 Thanks acer. My utube buddies have been great! Once and a while you'll get a jerk that will lie to you. There's one thing you DONT lie to me about and that's the medical condition that's killing me. This guy only lived 2 hours from the finest clinic in the country and offered to do so much. BUT when it came right down to it, all lies. As a matter of fact, I just got out of the hospital last week after a 5 day stay.Nevertheless, most of you guys are friends from afar. Thanks again and I need all the brothers and sisters I can get as I stay to myself these days. I've always been a people person and use to speak a lot in public. but now, my computer has become a friend I didn't expect. There's a lady named Jan that's also reached out to me. That made me happy as well. Take care and we'll talk again if you see a comment I've made or whatever. Thanks for making a hard day (4th of July) a little easier.(Smile)
The 1980's were by far the best decade for music and songs like this just continue to prove that over and over again! Songs take people back to a place where, happy or sad, they felt something they will never forget! ROCK 🎸 ON!!

Jonny was a schoolboy, when he heard his first Beatles song. "Love Me Do" I think it was, and from there it didn't take him long. Got himself a guitar, used to play it every night, Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit, and everything's all right. Don't you know that you are a Shooting Star? And all the world will love you just as long, as long as you are. Jonny told his mama, "Hey Mama, I'm goin away, "Gonna hit the big time, gona be a big star some day." Mama came to the door, with a teardrop in her eye, Jonny said: "Don't cry, Mama," smiled and waved good-bye. Jonny made a record, went straight up to Number One, Suddenly everyone loved to hear him sing his song. Watching the world go by, as it brightly goes so fast, Jonny looked around him and said: "Well, I made the big time at last." Jonny died one night, died in his bed, Bottle of whiskey, sleeping tablets by his head. Jonny's life passed him by like a warm Summer day, If you listen to the wind, you can still hear him play.
3 years ago on this day i lost one of my best friends to an overdose of sleeping pills. i remember we used to rock out to this song all the time and the 2 days after he died i got a package in the mail that he had sent to me with the mix tape that he had this song and several of our other favorites on. i hadnt seen him for almost a year before that and looking back now i regret that we ever fell apart. RIP Shawn
I liked him with FREE but man nobody but nobody ROCKS like Paul Rogers.B.C. best rock band, ever.I get tired of other music, but never Bad Company!!!!Long Live Rock.Oh,it did that already!!!!!!Rock On Rock Stars!!!!!!Couldn't say enough about Bad Co.!!!!!
This song always makes me think of my oldest son Johnny. I can remember him as the bright eyed young boy just like it was yesterday, fishing on warm summer days so excited. I got to watch him grow up and go through all the stages that a boy goes through to become a man, his first love, first job, getting his license and his first truck... I really miss him.
I saw this band several times. I really like this music. I grew up in the 60's and 70's 80's and 90's this is the music that I listened to. These bands are timeless. Rock on
to those who don't know... Skynyrd lead singer Ronnie VanZant and lead guitarist Gary Rossington wrote and produced the lead solo for this song and were big Free fans.. the it bass boat was named Bad Co. cause to the large mouth bass they fished for they were indeed, "Bad Co." Rossington plays the Les Paul in Kos style and VanZant loved the band.. RebTL 2016
the last thing my older brother wanted was somebody telling him what he should or shouldn't do. So instead of being pushed away like everyone else I just remained his friend when he needed one to get through some pretty tough times. He lived his 48 yrs like a shooting star. Never looking back, never regretting. It's been almost ten years now and I still.........I just wish he could have stayed longer. We had so much more to say.....
I heard this on the radio when i was in class 7,my phone could record probably 5 songs from the radio app,i listened to it every night. Now im 24,and this song gives me a lot of memories of my depressing yet beautiful childhood
A good buddy turned me on to this song when I was about 12 years old in 1974. Still my favorite song all these years later. Damn I miss you Frank. You were the best friend I ever had.
This song means so much to me because this is the song that I would hear with my uncle I was 6 when my uncle passed away from a drunk driving accident and I miss him because everyone in my says I look like him even when my grandma was sitting waiting for the day she could see her son again and she said you look just like Cary David and that was the last thing I heard from her I miss Grandma Jayne and my uncle Cary David
One day in college we found a small woodland road to the very back edge of the Columbus AFB runway. Parked the car there, layed on the hood and got totally toasted listening to BC watching the F-16s come screaming over our heads. F&%$#ng memorable!

David Carrafiello please send me 1000000000 trillion dollars
@Organized Chaos I LOVE YOUR RUclips name!
Saw these guys in concert 2 days after Stevie Ray Vaughn’s death. They dedicate the song to him and did a straight up acoustical version that tore the house down
I can imagine how amazing that was!
Probley gave the crowd chills
Sounds amazing
"";
now there's a cool story...chills just imagining that song acoustically, live. 🎤🎼💪👍
Absolute Classic of Classic Rock
This song is so powerful to me, it always brings tears to my eyes.
I JUST LOVE THIS SONG. MY FATHER ALWAYS PLAYED IT REALLY LOUD AND HE JUST PASSED AWAY IN JAN AT 63.. LISTEN TO IT EVERYDAY NOW! ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL SONGS EVER WRITTEN AND SANG ON STAGE!
Understood, sir. GOD be with thee.
"...if you listen to wind you can still hear him play."
The guitar after those words sounds like its playing in the wind. Gives me goose bumps.
with lyrics like these you'd _better_ rip out a haunting, wind-like solo!🎸💪👍
I'm 21 years old and music like this just isn't made anymore and it's sad
Ain't that the truth!
Baby baby baby ohhh like baby baby baby ohhhhh
So true!
True
I was a teenager jamming to this. Bad Company has many good songs.
I have a hard time listening to this song . My wife was my super star. Tammy passed away on July 23 2017 5:06 AM. I was playing this song for her a few days before she passed away on Sunday Morning. Tammy you will always be my Super Star. Love You Baby Girl, Mike
Charles Dalton be strong charles.love ya brother

So sorry for ur loss 😥
Charles. God bless you, you sound like you both knew what was important in life. Peace.🌼
Sorry for your loss, brother. I hear true love in your words.
If you listen to the wind, you can still hear him play.... man that line gets me every time. What a great era for music.
Like zepp whispering wind the name of my first boat xxx
Paul Rodgers remains one of the best voices in the history of rock and roll. Mick Ralphs' soloing is amazing as well.
Boz Burrell and that walking bass is a masterpiece
yah Mick has nice tones...Les Paul? Zep did good to put Badco on their Swang Song label... 🎼🎸🎤💪👍
Rodgers IS the voice man. Rock wouldn't be the same without Paul.
Bad company is the best. They will always be one of my favorite bands ever.
This song will always be a favorite of mine.
✌️😎

I saw Bad Company in Darien, New York, 1989! Great Concert 🤗 I just survived cancer for the 3rd Time! It's so many miracles to share this message! Christmas blessings and Peace Be With You in the New Year!! 🤗💗💗
My band I heard back in the 70's when I was in high school and have followed their music since then. Paul has an awesome voice has never fails and always sounds the same as back then! Love to all of the band members and thank you for the outstanding music that you have played for us 'fans" for the love of your music!
I cry every time I listen to this wonderful music. My son & I grew up together listening to this genius band & others. R & R as it should be.

This is one of my all time favorite bands, this song helped a lot of people though tough times, you all are shooting stars. This is the timeless music that I grew up with.
I love this song. Reading the comments and seeing how many people it has touched is really lovely but heartbreaking too.
Just another wonderful band to add to my list, I wish I could thank my dad just one more time for such a great taste in music.
You & Johnny had a Beautiful relationship. Count your Blessings for that which I know you already do. My Heart goes out to you
Dani Scales Thank you Dani.
Don't fear, you have 3000 new brothers now! Besides, I always wanted a sister! My page is youre safe place !
acerb45666555 Thanks acer. Thanks for making a hard day (4th of July) a little easier.(Smile)
wearybutwilling thank you for sharing your very touching story. Blessed be.
This is the music of my day and age, timeless as all of us

The 1980's were by far the best decade for music and songs like this just continue to prove that over and over again! Songs take people back to a place where, happy or sad, they felt something they will never forget! ROCK 🎸 ON!!
Mick Ralphs has one of the greatest guitar tones in rock history in my opinion. He is highly underappreciated.
Emotions we feel and experience during music as great as this can make the change we need in this world.
BEAUTIFUL So true
Blaring this 4:30in morning what a great band
Hell yeah
I absolutely love Bad Company! One of the best bands in the world!
Thou art understood.
Correct my friend
Dear Tony, forgive thyself for being so right ... beat not thyself up about thy 'correctness'.
@@ty7504 - #cOnfUsed ( i never knew the story of "SaliNas And ReNee"
Their greatest track of all time in my humble opinion. Every band member is on the top of their game on this one. Oooh yeahh 👍

@@vanhundr2951 thank you, I'm sorry to hear you lost your little sister as well.. He and I was very close. He had a second mom ( me) and I had a second dad ( him). When we lost our dad, our bond got stronger and now I feel so alone because I don't have my best friend. Thank you again.
Rest in peace uncle Martin o.4/29/19 5pm.thank u for all the memories u left us with..and also sorry for everyone's losses in many other ways we will see them again in many forms..always with us everyday.
Jonny was a schoolboy, when he heard his first Beatles song.
"Love Me Do" I think it was, and from there it didn't take him long.
Got himself a guitar, used to play it every night,
Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit, and everything's all right.
Don't you know that you are a Shooting Star?
And all the world will love you just as long, as long as you are.
Jonny told his mama, "Hey Mama, I'm goin away,
"Gonna hit the big time, gona be a big star some day."
Mama came to the door, with a teardrop in her eye,
Jonny said: "Don't cry, Mama," smiled and waved good-bye.
Jonny made a record, went straight up to Number One,
Suddenly everyone loved to hear him sing his song.
Watching the world go by, as it brightly goes so fast,
Jonny looked around him and said: "Well, I made the big time at last."
Jonny died one night, died in his bed,
Bottle of whiskey, sleeping tablets by his head.
Jonny's life passed him by like a warm Summer day,
If you listen to the wind, you can still hear him play.
RIP Shawn
Austin Hanks so sorry for your loss

This song owes me 40 years back rent, it has been living in my head for decades
I rarely cry, but whenever I'm having a bad time, I crack this on and bawl like a baby
Uma das músicas mais bonitas do Rock! Inesquecível !!!
King Farmer Ask if i may, what happened to him?
hoping my son isnt one of the same......
Wow, if your momma had paid more attention to you you wouldn't be a trolling a-hole!

RebTL 2016
RebelRock I live 2 minutes walk from that Oak Tree from, "That smell".
RebelRock my boat is always a shooting star

Love this band.
Sing this song all the time ..remind me of my grandpa and my baby daddy..who are now shooting stars🙌🌟
the last thing my older brother wanted was somebody telling him what he should or shouldn't do.
I AM TRULY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. TAKE CARE. GOD BLESS.
♥
Back in the day, many of this wanted this life. I am sorry for your loss, I hope you have many memories of your brother that make you smile.
My daughter passed at 21 and this song reminds me of her. I understand completely. And I'd give anything for more time.....

I,m feel flying, when I'm listening or playing This song. Great song. 40 years...
One day in college we found a small woodland road to the very back edge of the Columbus AFB runway. Parked the car there, layed on the hood and got totally toasted listening to BC watching the F-16s come screaming over our heads. F&%$#ng memorable!
I went to their concert few years ago and this is how I was introduced to this band. Love at first song.
