This song takes me back to when I was a carefree teen, who thought he was going to live forever and acted like it. My friends and I grew up here, in the mountains of southern West Virginia. Hair down to our shoulders, steel in our eyes. We never started trouble but did'nt take crap from anyone. Your buddy always had your back, did'nt have to ask. Now I'm 58, half bald and deaf, a lot of good friends have gone on to the other side. I hear songs like this one, and just for a little while, I'm back in time with my old crew, sitting around a camp fire deep in the hills a cold beer in my hand and a pretty girl by my side' and life is so fresh and good. Be excellent to each other people, we're all we got Later.

It is January 2024, I'm about to turn 63 years old. This song has always been my favorite of all time. However,after high school in'79 and three years in the Army when ever I heard this song, although still my favorite,there was a void, something was missing. Now to the present, my wife has since passed away, my kids all grown up, grandkids being teen agers, I connected with a friend from long ago. I drove over 200 miles each way to take her to lunch. We ate and talked and gave each other a hug good-bye. As I was driving home, Night Moves came on. After 45 years I realized what the void was. It was her!!! My heart is whole again. I do hope we can keep on keepin' on. Thank you Lisa!

I love Supernatural, but my love for Seager is from my dads taste in (great) music.
Im 35, and in 5th grade I tried to like/ listen to what the other kids thought were cool. It didn't last long.
How could I listen to music generated but computers with autotune vocals when I grew up on music that came from talented people and right from the soul?
If it isn't a band of humans with real instruments and vocals the singers feel from their eveything, it's not music.

Love this song, and the album. Been listening to both a long time. I'm also a Supernatural fan. I was blown away when this played in that scene. I remember the opening notes gave me chills.
Ah teenage love. One time my girl and I were in my Chevy in the baseball field parking lot, no one around. Suddenly headlights come around the turn and it’s a cop. He walks up to the window with that smile and goes “listen I was a young guy myself way back when and I hate to be “that guy” but if you’re gonna do it you just can’t do it here”
Oh yeah, literally been there in both scenarios, first as a seventeen year old in the front seat of my '54 Buick Roadmaster, when a couple of Officers knocked on the window to see if my girlfriend was 'allright' - so she told them we had gotten into an argument and had just pulled over to talk.
We got off with a smile and 'Drive safe', and about four years later I found myself as a young Police Officer in Stanton, CA. doing the same for more than a few 'amourous' couples, who I not only told to find someplace safer than their car, but also apologized for interrupting them.
Been there and truly done that, and Segar's song brings back those sweet memories and the young women who helped me figure out the mysteries of what "Night Moves' are all about.

Same for me. Now I am 60. Winter closing in. The atmosphere that these lyrics create is quite profound. Bob must have been born with an old soul because these lyrics seem to come from someone much much older. This is poetry of the highest order and if one reads carefully there several stories here that are not immediately obvious. Part of the story is a celebration of youth and part regret of caused by the ignorance of our youth. I am old and alone now but sometimes wake from a dream humming a tune long forgotten, remembering a girl long forgotten and that sound of thunder is the feeling love I should had. Thanks for the memories Bob.

This song really hits. You listen and it takes you back to the newness of it all. Back to the place where your dreams were being made far away from future where they are not at risk of slipping in between the cracks. When you didn’t know the taste of defeat. The wonder & thrill that drives all the arts and that great novels speak of. You get the feeling that he’s older now and looking back realizes that something was lost along the way. It remains there back in our youth when we were unaffected by the hardness of the world the lay just beyond the horizon.

@@bradleyg.1770 Good question. The reason why I posted the lyrics is that I like to sing along to this and other songs when I bring my daughter to bed. The problem with this video is that the lyrics are a little bit too slow. Which means If I want to sing along I'm always late. So I posted the lyrics to know in advance what's next.
