I wish! I can’t afford to keep him permanently, unfortunately, but I do really want one like him. I’ve never had such an in your pocket type horse, and am loving this!
He is a human whisperer! Often horses will give you their heart, if you treat them right and fair. Good job! You gave him the chance to be the best version of himself.
What a sweetheart 🥰 one of the absolute best part of the Mustang community is when the horse and trainer click and connect perfectly. He’s going to be one special horse for sure ❤️
I agree with him observing you with Merlin and Sparrow. He saw that they weren't hurt and wanted to test you out. Then discovered that "the weird two legged thing" gave great scratches!
Jager really does remind me of Zäna. Very curious and a thinker. His eyes are so gentle too. As a note, Zäna is 5 and also still expecting. She recently started becoming food aggressive but we are working on it. She will bite at you or kick at you if frustrated. So we are making sure they have multiple feeding stations to get them moving around the pen on their own and not feel like the food is limited. We are still using positive reinforcement training. Now a week in since she started becoming aggressive, our moving feeding station idea along with shorter sessions have given us more progress. Now she asks for withers and body scritches through protective contact. We have been able to pet her face for awhile. She even lets us get to her sensitive left side. I felt like I was doing something wrong when she started getting aggressive. We had a vet come out and the vet could at least determine that she had no appearance of pain in her movements and her body condition looked good. She told us it was about protecting a “scarce” food recourse and protecting her younger herd mate. So we set up food stations and in a couple of days we have seen a return of her previous non-aggressive self, are breaking both of the emerging mugging us for food, and able to touch her more. Just thought I’d share in case you start to run into a similar issue of being crowded. The aggression towards other horses can also be a sign of them feeling like there isn’t enough food. I’m a little jealous of you having another beautiful bay. Great job so far!!
Good on you for problem solving like that! I feel like problem solving is a HUGE part of mustang ownership. We all get trained to get good at it😂 I hope you continue to have success! And thank you!!
Oh my goodness, a third mustang!!! What a sweetheart, it's amazing how much he wants to be with you. I'm so happy you gave him the opportunity to live with you and show his true colors instead of being branded as a "problem horse". My heart has totally melted watching him, it's almost like he's yearning to be around humans.
I was once at a BLM mustang adoption event and at one point I had two "wild" mustangs licking my arms at the same time. If I'd been ready to take horses at the time I'd have taken both of them. They might have not yet been ready for riding, but didn't seem to have much if any fear of humans.
We have a horse like that too. He doesn't really care who is doing the loving, as long as he gets all of the available loving around! I think he'd actually be happier if she didn't keep him, since he has to share her attention with the other horses here.
I know it’s a lot of work but one suggestion. If you can, put two cameras for these videos. In case one runs out of charge. These are the most special memories you will have.
What an epic horse!! He's just decided he wants to be a people horse now :D Love seeing the variety of personalities throughout your different horses 🥰
From the earliest 'Biter' description, I'm not gonna lie; I tried to share your perspective and keep the context of a wild horse behaving defensively in mind, but couldn't help but worry that biting was just the tip of the iceberg. Even in the circumstance of stress in a chute, could that behavior indicate a dominant/assertive personality who'd rather fight than acquiesce to restraint? After wondering, it turns out he's THIS? What an awesome surprise!
@@TheProjectEquestrian Signing up for a challenge and later thinking, "Ut-oh, what if this doesn't work out the way I imagined?" Gosh, that doesn't sound familiar at all because I never ever have self doubt. (Total lie! 😆) Just from you taking care of Jaeger and him observing you, he figured it out and made this choice? I'm so impressed!
He's so cute😍😍 I just love him!! He's such a sweetheart!! There is a racehorse my friends have and the horse bites, Kicks, and bucks, but I realized we already knew the person That gave them the horse was NOT honest, but I saw some of the things that happened on the race track, which makes me sad to think of what happened to him
Wow, what a brave and intelligent horse, he assessed you, watched you pick up his poop and feed him and decided you could be trusted, then the scratches! He must be so happy. Do you think the other Mustangs would have done this if you hadn't started working with them? P.s. You must be so excited to see what comes of him.
I don’t think Sparrow or Merlin would have done this…Jaeger is in a whole different category😂 I’ve never met such an in-your-pocket type horse. He’s very possessive 😂
It was a domesticated horse, but i got bit once. A situation had turned potentially dangerous and she bit me, not hard to get me out of it. I was a tween at the time.
I know this video is a year old, but I just found your channel when I was looking for videos of the Mustang Magic competition. We're a couple hours from the DG corrals, and I'm hoping to get a mustang from there in a few years after my mare retires:) Anyway, I wonder if he saw you interacting with the other horses and came to the conclusion that you weren't any threat? This video reminded me a bit of a feral kitten I had. She hid under the bed for two weeks while I just hung out in the room, not putting any pressure on her to interact just talking and being there. After a couple weeks of watching me, she came out and started purring, rubbing all over me, and curled up in my lap. She ended up being the biggest sweetheart once she decided to trust. It might not work for every animal or situation, but I think there's something to be said for letting them do things on their own timeline and choose to have a relationship with us!

He is completely in love and looks so bonded to you already. Congratulations
He doesn’t want to let you go, that is so cute 🥰. I love horses
From my experience, animals seem to know when they've been rescued and essentially that is what you did for him. Very awesome!
I’m betting Jaeger has found his forever home!
I wish! I can’t afford to keep him permanently, unfortunately, but I do really want one like him. I’ve never had such an in your pocket type horse, and am loving this!

Hah! He certainly is a human whisperer 😂
Wow! That was absolutely incredible to watch! He is so cute and has such a kind eye, he's going to be an amazing horse for someone🤩
Wasn’t he something else!?😍
What a sweetheart 🥰 one of the absolute best part of the Mustang community is when the horse and trainer click and connect perfectly. He’s going to be one special horse for sure ❤️
This is so rare and precious....it made me tear up. Best of luck in your training. You have a good one there🤗
I know, right! I was not expecting this at all! Thank you!!
Jaeger was training you, to scratch him! Amazing!
He is a very special horse. You might have to keep this one
What an amazing horse that had been dismissed as a biter. Well done for understanding horse language and giving him that chance 👏
Animal just know. There is always a reason animals acts out. You never know why as they have no voice to tell you. Thank you for being so kind to him💖
Looks like Nathan has his mustang!🤣🖤
He'd been watching you and the other horses for all that time, making up his mind what to do.
Sometimes doing nothing does a lot.
I agree with him observing you with Merlin and Sparrow. He saw that they weren't hurt and wanted to test you out. Then discovered that "the weird two legged thing" gave great scratches!
Jaeger has beautiful eyes - his soul is strong but gentle. Sweet.
He’s beautiful. Thank you for rescuing him! God bless.
Oh my goodness!! That is so cool and what a surprise!! Can he write Zara a letter and tell her how he does it? 😂😂😂
Is your sweet chemistry..
They know who loves them..
Jaegar is so cute and sweet I’m glad things are working out good for you to!
Wow, what a sweet boy! He already loves you and I can’t wait to see how your relationship will grow. You two look great together!
He is SO cute and love seeing him enjoy that grooming.
Awe!!!! How amazing!!! It’s like he just knew you took a chance on him!
He’s such a beautiful horse !
I love watching the two of you together! You’re so sweet giving him a kiss 🥰🐎🐎💕
Ahhh, this vid gives more context about Jaeger. TY for posting.

He really is! This guy is going to be amazing!
@@TheProjectEquestrian I think he’ll be amazing under saddle.
Wow! Congratulations! That’s so special and so amazing that he turned out to be a big sweetheart 😁
💗☺ he truly connected with you. He just might end up being your heart horse!
Wow!!! So glad your new guy is open and willing to trust you! Special.
We have 2 DG's. Both were weanlings. One gelding and one filly. They are both so different but so loving.
Horses are very empathic. My mare taught me she knew my mood before I did
Dang, I wish I was ready to buy. He’s a keeper.
That is SOOOO sweet! Congratulations!!
This beautiful boy was definitely meant for you and for you to keep ♡ Truly amazing'

TOTALLY caught me off guard! This isn't how he was a suppose to be! lol He still LOVES/demands scratches to this day!

This is the most lovely video!
Britta!!!!! That’s amazing!!!! New horse for Nathan? 😏😏
🤣🤣
It was a domesticated horse, but i got bit once. A situation had turned potentially dangerous and she bit me, not hard to get me out of it. I was a tween at the time.
Humans would do the same thing when backed into a corner !
Animals KNOW when the danger is gone
That is amazing.
maybe he was a "biter" because he's really extra sensitive. and obviously a lover.
that's a great point! Could be!
Love this video ❤
He's a good boy. So did you get snow in may?
We did in early may I think. Thank goodness it’s behind us now😅

Just watch Britta adopt him.
