Really enjoyed this movie, waiting for Premalu 2 now. This story is so simple but yet so fresh and told in a superb way. Bollywood glamorizes love stories too much that it doesn't feel relatable.
The joke Sachin told was translated wrongly. He said we need to park near the pond so we can drink alcohol and die. Later, Kartiga was eating betel leaves where you chew and spit it out. I guess that is not accepted in Western culture but is commonly done in India. The ground is full of spits of this. But the practice is mostly done by the older generation, about two generations away. Today few pockets still do it. The way Reenu said she can handle the car is she will "tidy it up" (as in tidying up the room).
There are some movies that you won't be able to fully enjoy because of your cultural differences. Even if that kind of movies are famous it is better to avoid them because if you don't like that movie there would be so many fans that would be disappointed or angry. It would be better if someone recommended you movies without their favoritism, then you will also be able to enjoy lots of other indian movies.

Bramayugam reaction will be nice for the next one, it can connect with a more wider and general audience and horror unites all. Premalu is nice but there's a lot of language usage and malayalam references I don't think would translate for a non malayalee audience.
