Very good review. A few months ago I flew a SQ A359 (regional) from Singapore to Guangzhou. UPS: the in flight map was excellent - they displayed the tail rego number, latitude and longitude. As well, they displayed the date of the flight. In addition to this, you have the choice of removing boundaries and cities as well as other labels. You can also use this to find the information on the city (population, elevation, time and distance from plane). As well you can watch movies or tv simultaneously whilst looking at map. Downs: there is no live sport, no live news. Fun fact: the regional a350 runs with Thales (no live TV), while long haul and ultra long haul runs with Panasonic (live tv)
Cost cutting has taken a toll more than what you think…. - where are the missing pre departure hot towels? SQ going cheap on laundry costs I guess - where are the missing appetisers? again SQ probably downgraded their catering costs… - what happened with amenity kits? Cost cutting - what happened with the pre-landing meal? Catering cost cutting again
Thanks for your comment, UKabroad. I hear you. I am beginning to find their high and expensive fares unjustifiable when I could get better service from other airlines as of light. I love Singapore Airlines and is my go to airline in the Asia Pacific region, but one must contemplate if they are the most affordable given the current economic climate.
I have been flying with Singapore Airlines for more than 15 years. Used to love their service but last year when I went to India after Covid .. Singapore Airlines lacked in their service. Not happy with their cost cutting. Smaller portions of food aren’t adequate for an eight hours flight.
Singapore Airlines used to in my opinion have the world’s best Economy class seats. Their recent A359 and 787 I flew on really is indeed crammed (787 was slightly better and tolerable for a 4 hour flight). In my opinion it is the worst for a long flight especially 16 hours to/from San Francisco. Their 77W was always the best. Sadly we are stuck with the A359 if we ever choose to fly them, so we will likely avoid SQ or fly Premium Economy if we can’t avoid it.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I have to agree with you. I am a bit taken aback by the cramming of seats on Singapore Airlines who have pride themselves on having spacious seats! I guess we'll see where this airline goes in the future!
@@af_aviation I’d wonder how is their 777X going to look like in the future. If it is tolerable and comfortable for a long flight, even if it can make San Francisco to Singapore nonstop we will by all means take that. Because of SQ’s A359 economy, I am not sure if I ever want to fly an A359 on any carrier. Most carriers I heard use more or less the same seat on the A359. Even Emirates’ A380 is much better and Cathay Pacific’s 77W with a 10 across was still in my opinion better than the A359, many would find cramped but it wasn’t as bad. Maybe it’s really just a difference since Boeing planes still have a bit more space.
Never flew the regional A359 but I flew the long haul version which has the exact same seats. I will try to avoid the A359 wherever I go. The 787-10 wasn’t that bad. I hope their 779’s are better
Singapore Airlines Have World Best Economy Class Thats My Opinon.Great Trip Report
I always watch this after I went on this flight so I’ve been watching for months

SQ no longer the world’s best economy class. They advertised themselves as World Class… I think that’s quite an insult to themselves.
@@oceanbreeze89 Even CX is better than SQ in economy class nowadays
They are bringing hot towels and appetisers back now, yay!!!! ✈️
I have been using SQ Mel - Sin route for a few decades and I never had empty or half capacity flight. It’s always fully booked flight. 😅
Outstanding video. Well done.
Excellent trip report, not a big fan of the lengthy taxi time at Changi. What do you think about post covid sq product?
Thank you so much! Yes, I unfortunately am on a lot of flights that utilise the further runway :')

Best to eat at food court or KFC before boarding
Luckily they are bringing back appetisers and other food items will be good.
I agree. The regional config is raeally cramped.. 😢
Indeed. It's more apparent on the A350-900 than on the B787-10 to be honest.
