They Fly A380s To Melbourne Now?

I’ve flown on Emirates from Melbourne to London more than I can count the fingers of my hand. I remember in 2018 I flew Melbourne - Singapore - Dubai- London, The only exception it was a 10:30pm flight to Singapore. I believe they don’t do this anymore. It was a really good route as it broke up all my sectors to maximum of 8 hours.

I'm flying to manila in a few months from NZ flying air nz, stopping in Changi for 2 hours before heading to manila, do I need to collect and recheck my bags if booked on the same ticket or do they automatically transfer? Ive only ever had direct flights and haven't experienced a stopover before

It is a late flight. These guys work hard and keep crazy hours.... I think they can be forgiven for maybe not always being 100%. The main considerations for reasonably short overnight travel that requires little other than a seat and maybe a snack should be the overall comfort of the flight, value for money in comparison with other airlines, flight leaving on time etc. A smiling attendant is always nice but is not essential provided the fundamentals are taken care of.

I went to Seoul once, And I was on the exact same flight as yours, It was an A350-900

My very first flight was on Emirates Flight EK409 from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur almost 12 years ago. It holds a lot of memories and actually the departure time was at 3:40am and arriving into KL at 8:30am. Unfortunately, Emirates ditched the Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur route in 2016 and afterwards I would take Emirates Flight EK405 to Singapore and connect onwards with Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, it is such a shame that Emirates will ditch this route after 28 years since operating it in 1996! I guess the next time I take Emirates, I will be flying to Dubai!

Why didn't you go to the Qatar lounge

One of a few 5th freedom flights that provides a real service. I wish they also used an A380 for this route, but I know it'd be hard for the airline to do so as not many passengers would fly a 5th freedom flight. The cabin was good, but for the past, and for now it need to be retrofitted to be better

Singapore Airlines will NEVER EVER bring A380 back to Melbourne again. The Airline already has multiple A350 flights to the City. I am sorry but SQ removed A380s from Melbourne on NOV 2023. If Singapore Airlines can handle demand using multiple A350s instead of an A380, that's another way Singapore Airline is doing the impossible with the A350s apart from operating them on the world's longest route!

Still doubtful between Singapore economy or Cathay Pacific premium economy. Just 250€ difference…

Wide body aircraft to Manila: Singapore and other Asian carriers do not offer premium economy on the regional flights. And now we also see that the seating in economy is tighter than long haul flights.

Excellent video as per! There’s nothing more unique than the sound of Changi Airport waking up in the morning and the sound of passengers rushing to get on the morning bank of departures. Really good to know you had a much better onward flight to MNL. Flying back to Aus with them next week. Had no problem greeting those of a specific demographic and appearance - No surprise on this as its a fact! I remembered I had trouble putting my luggage into the overhead cabin and the CA standing nearby refused to help me. Upon seeing a certain race easily putting his luggage into the overhead cabin, she rushed to help him. Its natural that I lodged a complaint against her the moment I reached back SG.

I took the same plane in March but it was a early morning flight at 4am lol But had to switch aircrafts due to a malfunction in the system so got delayed for 2 hours 😭 But I think a day flight is much better than a red eye flight
