- Former speaker of the House Bronwyn Bishop says during the 20 years she spent in the chamber with Anthony Albanese "nobody ever" felt he was "leadership material".
Ms Bishop’s comments come amid reports the Labor Party are losing faith in the prime minister.
“Nobody has ever in the 20 plus years I sat in that chamber with that man - nobody ever said he was leadership material,” she said.
“All we are seeing is it played out.
“I was quite right.”

Rubbish.. he was chosen from a number of candidates. Even in 2018 it was a choice of candidates in the Labor Party. It was reduced to a contest between Albanese and Shorten with the latter winning then. This time another candidate nominated but withdrew. The LNP have RWNJ angry Dutton. Who could replace him… ah.. no one the rest are duds too. They are nothing more than the old, failed dregs of the Morrison Government. People wanted rid of Morrison and his style of politics they showed that in 2022. Now what they have in Dutton is not more of the same.. it’s even worse! Just over 12 months out from the election he hasn’t articulated a single policy other than vague, waffle about modular nuclear that won’t be viable for 20 years and will be enormously expensive to run. He has no policies.. his only policy is to criticise the Government’s policies!

I think the next leader of Labor will be a woman. Tanya Plibersek. If you've ever watched her during question time you'd notice she's always turning to see who's asking a question.
