The whole theater was quiet, aside from a few people crying and murmuring about what the hell just happened, then the credits came up and we were just stunned. I was impressed that they actually did it. Not many big franchise movies end on a huge downer like that. Then we had to spend a year speculating, "Are they dead? Are they in another dimension? Where'd they go? How're they gonna bring 'em back? Can they bring 'em back? WTF????"
In my theater, there was almost a fight. One guy was screaming at the whole theater, just asking how can we just accept whatever the big marvel bosses threw at us. That we should all be mad. And just ranting. This other guy told him to shut up and just enjoy it for what it was. They got into each other faces but eventually security kicked them both out.
Just a reminder about the ending, Thanos' whole plan was to get all 6 stones so he could enact his "Balance" plan across the entire universe with a snap of his fingers. And that's exactly what he did, then used the Space stone to portal away. Everyone that turned to dust was part of the "half of all life" that had randomly been chosen. And when he was done, he would smile at a grateful universe.
Seeing this in the theater was one of those unique crowd/audience experiences, truly rare. The excitement going in and waiting for it to start. The audience cheering, laughing and gasping together... then came the end. A hush, as near silent as a crowd like that can be, almost earie. Then, while filing out, the theory's about "what happens next" started.
That scene where Star-Lord is angry about Gamora's death feels poetic with Tony saying not to attack in rage, because in Captain America Civil War, Tony did something similar when finding out that Bucky killed his parents despite being brainwashed.
@@willracer1jz As long as Thanos has that purple Powerade Stone in his gauntlet, half the universe may be gone, but everyone else will have plenty of thirst-quenching electrolytes. 🤪
Peter at the end hit a lot harder than the others because the rest of them are battle-hardened in their way, whereas Peter's basically just a high school kid caught up in a really weird situation.
@williamcapp448 Well, I'm reading what you just have written: "Thanos is dragging around an ant, and you all surprised he can beat shit out of elephant." Yes, of course, we are entitled to be surprised, being able to play with ant is not an indicator to be able to beat shit out of elephant.
Admittedly, a lot of Thor's stories were about him being taken down a peg or five while Hulk was just this unstoppable tsunami no matter what he faced the majority of the time. Thor and Hulk are actually equally powerful, but Thor had been diminished so much as a character that it seemed more reasonable that of course he'd lose.
@@thatpatrickguy3446 Thor literally beat Hulk in Ragnarok to the point that the grandmaster cheated to help Hulk win, and even before that Hulk was stalemated by Thor in the first Avengers, and was beaten by Iron Man in Age of Ultron, he was literally knocked out. At this point in the movies Hulk isn't even one of the top 5 strongest Avengers, Wanda, Vision, Strange, Iron Man, and Thor are all more powerful than him, and even if you don't count Strange as an Avenger Hulk's still 5th at best. Also, Hulk was out of the fight in Avengers for a bit just from a large group of Chautauri shooting him from their ships, so Hulk was never as insane as people seem to think he was. If you're talking about the comics that's a different story entirely as every character is massively stronger and there are certain versions of each character that are way stronger than each other, but it's pointless to use the comics as a reference since the movies are significantly different.
Loki had witnessed Thor be lighting-powerful without Mjolnir. Loki was hoping Thor would “Thor out” on Thanos & reverse the situation. Thor had nothing against the Power Stone. Realizing that, Loki surrendered the Tesseract (Space Stone) knowing he had one more card to play (Hulk). When Hulk failed & Heimdall murdered, Loki tried himself to defeat Thanos and failed.
Flerkens are alien creatures resembling Earth's cats in appearance and behavior. They reproduce by laying up to 117 eggs and possess many tentacles that can extend from their mouths. Their bodies also hold pocket realities, bubbles of space and time that exist in other worlds. Thats how she was able to swallow the Tesseract 👍. In the comics her name is Chewie (star wars reference)
@39:04 Thank you, Hannah. Someone finally corrected Thanos by pointing out that a spider is an arachnid, not an insect. You’re the only one I’ve ever seen do it.
The silence in the theater after the final credits scene was palpable. Not a word, everyone was in shock. I had read the comic books when I was a kid so I knew ahead of time but it still hit hard.
This movie pulls off a couple amazing feats. For one, there are almost two dozen superheroes and nearly all of them have some role to play, however small that role may be. Even Groot, who spends most of the movie playing video games, contributes in a crucial moment by literally giving up his arm to create Stormbreaker. It's remarkable how the movie juggles this many protagonists without feeling like any of them were wasted. The second feat is how the film dares to allow the villain to win in the end, subverting most people's expectations that the Avengers would find a way to thwart him. Thanos is ultimately the central figure and gets the most development while everyone else is simply reacting to him. He's actually treated more like the main protagonist than anyone else, cemented by the fact that he has a goal that he strives for across the whole plot and he achieves it at the end. It seems like it ends on a cliffhanger, but in a way it also doesn't. If you truly viewed Thanos as the real main protagonist, the whole MCU story could end right here if it wanted to. Sure, it would be a major downer, but it would actually complete Thanos' arc of collecting the Infinity Stones across all three MCU phases and completing his plan.
Well said. Thanos is the protagonist of Infinity War. It's his film, and his journey as a character. It actually turns the standard heroic trope on its head. Thanos is an insane monster, yet he sacrifices everything he has, everyone he cares about, to achieve what he believes is a greater good for everyone.
This film, along with Endgame, were the highlight, the peak, of the MCU. I saw both in theaters and both delivered. Laughing, crying and being on the edge of your seat. Everything cinema needs. Nothing like it since. With the exception of No Way Home. But that came after.
Missed ya Hannah. All the girls have been holding down the fort. 'If' Thanos gets all the stones, the universe will have to suffer endless monologues for eternity.
Saw this opening night. It was incredible. Thanos is probably one of cinema's best written villains. When the film finished, it felt like we were all leaving a funeral. No one expected it to end like that, the villain winning. Ofc we knew there was a "part 2" to come. And as you would expect, the fans spent a year trying to work out how The Avengers could beat Thanos. Bring a LOT of tissues for when you watch Endgame 🙂
The Thanos vs Dr. Strange battle was my favorite part. The multiple arms thing with multiple copies attacking is a signature move direct from the comics, only it was used against Loki when they fought. But that is another story.
As far as death and consequences go, I always likened this to the original Transformers cartoon. Everyone is shooting lasers, especially Megatron... never any major damage, no deaths. Then we have the first battle in the Transformers animated film and that all changed. Same with Infinity War. The safeties are now off.
Saw in theatre on opening weekend in a packed room... never have I been in a theater that went so quiet than during this movie after Thanos' snap. Everyone was shocked as character after character faded away... so many hushes or 'on no' an amazing movie experience. - enjoyed your reaction
The one thing Thanos did not get: increase in populations will happen, regardless of someone decreasing the universe's total population, by half. In a few hundred earth years, the population of earth (humans, animals, creatures, and foliage), would be back to what it was, before. Same as other planets.
What ppl misunderstood about Thanos was he was trying to prevent a far greater destruction from happening. The birth of a Celestial. Which WOULD have destroyed the oresent universe, in irder to create a new one from the raw materials.
Since you guys already recorded for the next few films, I’ll let you know ahead of time: when you start phase 4, the first project is Black Widow 2020. The pandemic delayed the original release date, but starting off with Black Widow is the correct order. The opening Marvel Studios logo for this movie was made to celebrate the first ten years. I loved how we got to see Peter react to the Q-Ship. It took me back to the Marvel vs. Capcom arcade games when Spidey would say “spider senses are tingling.” Even when the world is in trouble, Tony still lands the best jokes. I also gotta give props to Ned on the bus, Bruce going hype mode for Thor, and Groot with Cap among other funny moments throughout the film. The four lackeys that were with Thanos are the Black Order: Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, and Cull Obsidian. Remember when Nebula said to Gamora that she was the sibling she hated the least? The Black Order are also Gamora and Nebula’s siblings by adoption. There were also theories about Red Skull surviving. Looks like they were right on the money. The army of aliens that attacked Wakanda are called Outriders. The Russo Brothers gave me two birthday presents in a row with Infinity War and Engdame. I remember we were all cheering for Stormbreaker entering the scene followed by Thor regaining his armor. That made for quite an entrance. As Groot vanished, “I am Groot” in that moment was him saying “dad…”. If you look closely, Wanda welcomed death. With Vision gone, she felt she no longer had a reason to live. Going into this, I knew Vision would be a liability. It pains me to say it, but while the Mind Stone is a powerful weapon it’s also a homing beacon for Thanos and his crew. We also can’t forget that his body is made out of vibranium. It might be the strongest metal on Earth, but the universe is more than just that or even our own solar system. So unless Corvus’ weapon is also made out of the same material, then it must be made out of something stronger that we don’t know about. Also, the fact that it took a lot for Tony to make Thanos bleed even one bit just further proves that he’s hard to kill. Spider-Man’s vanishing was the most painful to watch. Back in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony did say that he’d feel responsible if Peter died and didn’t want that piled on his conscience. Just before he vanished, he apologized to his mentor feeling he didn’t do enough to stop Thanos but he gave it his all. The Russo Brothers knew what they were doing. Spider-Man has been a fan favorite for years, and the MCU’s incarnation is a high school teen with a lot of potential. That’s why they had him die slow.
I remember theatrically a bunch of people crying during the end of this movie as we were walking out and all I kept thinking was, this is a superhero movie and it’s part one, chances are all of those people are coming back😂
I saw this in the theaters late on Sunday of opening weekend. I then went home to watch the new episode of Game of Thrones, which I knew was going to feature the long-awaited Battle of Winterfall. So, as I was getting ready to watch it, I was like "Man, this is going to be quite a night of watching beloved characters die." 🙃
28:42 to 28:44 - That line, "Why is Gamora?", wasn't in the script, believe it or not! 34:24 to 34:28 - Thor's right. 47:55 to 47:56 - Groot's last words: "Dad?"
Went to see this with my son, who was 10 at the time. Wearing our Iron Man and Spidey t-shirts. When Peter vanished at the end I felt like my son disappeared, totally gutted.
Yes Dr.Strange could have portal sliced off the guantlet or sent Quill away, had Mantis 'sleep' him . Dr.Strange had seen it already. Many times he probably did this but it still lead to failure.
This. Its conceivable Dr. Strange encountered those scenarios (probably after the first dozen or so lol), and like you say, they all ended in failure in some other way. There was only one chance he saw in 14+million where it worked out as a win.
The original story Thanos collected the stones to impress Mistress Death and he personally collected the stones battling individuals that possessed each one and basically every marvel heroes was involved.
An amazing theatre experience that will never be equalled :) As others have said, when the lights came on it was dead quiet except for sniffing and the occasional sob. Everyone walked out like they were leaving a funeral :)
Wanda, Cap, Natasha, and Vision where in hiding so concealing who she is would be a priority for Wanda, fan theory is that Natasha, being a spy and this experienced in such things would have worked with Wanda on her accent in order to help Wanda blend in.
Accents change over time, as people are immersed in a society where everyone speaks differently. Marvel movies were usually set in the years they were released, and there were three years between Age of Ultron when Wanda was introduced, and Infinity War.
My girls! (I know you're not mine, but you do happen to be my favorite duo) 1:55-2:00 "then why did you demand it in the first place." I think Loki thought Thanos was bluffing. Sorry for my lack of reaction to your reaction. I've missed you two so much.
You really nailed something in this. It's hard to feel real loss when a character dies, after you've seen so many shenanigans that these stories pull to bring people back.
Great reaction as always ladies! And we were supposed to wait a year to find out if dead was actually dead, cos the dead sure looked dead, or if there was going to be some BS to fix it all. 😛 Historically, the Hulk is the rage monster that was created from Bruce's anguish at not being able to stop his abusing father from murdering his mother right in front of him when Bruce was a young child, which is also why the Hulk was generally an uncontrolled and uncontrollable rage machine when he came to the forefront. The childish rage given extreme power and without the self control that one learns as they grow up is manifested as the Hulk. By the same token, when the uncontrollable rage machine is defeated by Thanos, it leads to a regression of the childish fury personality. Hulk feels like he has to be invincible, otherwise he is worthless, just like the hated Banner who didn't save his mother from being murdered. The child mind that is Hulk can't handle that, and so the Hulk hides, much like a child might, from his failure because now he's no better than his hated enemy, the puny Banner. For the record, this is part of the fun that comes from a psychology student (me at the time) discussing the psychological motivations of fictional characters with their departmental advisor at college, who was also a comic book fan like I was. 😀
How come MCU Thanos doesn't use the Infinity Stones to create and provide enough resources for everybody in the universe?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Thor is an Asgardian. Which means increased Strength, Stamina, some regeneration as well as the ability to traverse space. 😅 Corvus Glaive's weapon can cut through anything...even a phasing Vision. 😮 Heimdall dead, Loki dead, Gamora dead, Ebony Maw dead, Vision dead.

I don't need that on my conscience. Peter: Yes, sir, I- Tony: Yes. Peter: I'm sorry. I’m sorry. Tony: "Sorry" doesn't cut it.
Run to the Movies ASSEMBLE!!!! Great to see Hannah and Tori back on the Marvel trail. I really enjoyed your reactions to Infinity War and I cannot wait for Endgame!
Technically Thor is a god and the battle against Thanos should've been epic. The hammer axe 🪓 Thor used "Storm breaker" was created for a worthy alien Beta Ray Bill
Stormbreaker is NOT more powerful than the 6 infinity stones obviously. (Ofc the power is limited to the usability of the wielder). But here thanos was distracted and stormbreaker sort of teleported away the beams so it did that.
I really liked the video and I also think that the movie ends with Thanos smiling and that at the end it says "Thanos will come back" and not "The Avengers Will Come Back" because the main character in the film is Thanos and if you look at it that way you will understand the film better.
I'm really not sure how much more they could spell it out for you... We heard Loki's neck snap along with Thanos point blank saying that he's not coming back, we saw Gamora's body on the rocks below. What more could they do aside from having the director literally stop the movie come out and say, "Just FYI, these people are dead."?
@@yaroslavpanych2067 Everyone who died before the snap is still gone, even if they finagled an alternate version of one or two of them. They still aren't then the same character we had before this movie
I wish Hannah & Tory would have done a reaction to multiple parts of this movie. I thought their reaction was fine for what they showed… but felt a bit cheated for the content they showed. Endgame will be another long movie… hopefully they will do a multiple part review for that one.
girls at 35 24, did you see the movie Venom yet? i think those are his home planet brothers, the symbiotes, i think Thanos' army found them on their planet and brought them here
I sort of remember when I first saw this. When it was released streaming or something? It was a lot. That's what I can say. Like way a lot to put on the audience. And without spoiling what is going be weird is the next is somehow 10x that. But from start to finish really just punch the viewer right in the ribs.

Holy hell are we at "Infinity War" already!? Iron Man feels like it was two weeks ago haha. So pumped for this :D
And we have already recorded reactions foe the next two films as well!
Iron man was well over a year ago. Maybe closer to 2 years.
Dude, they literally took 2 years to reach here so stop the cap😂
The one good thing is that the next 3 movies likely are coming quickly, because who can wait to see what happens in Endgame???
Do you think it's his generation's Artax moment?
@RuntotheMovies yeah, maybe. Had no idea it would leave us shocked like it did
Wanda only shows her accent while she is the Scarlett Witch. When she is Wanda she doesn't have any accent
An amazing theatre experience that will never be equalled :)
As others have said, when the lights came on it was dead quiet except for sniffing and the occasional sob. Everyone walked out like they were leaving a funeral :)
BOOOOOOO!! 💘🐱💗🥰🥰🥰
This movie is so cool bring all the different franchises together.
No there was not two deaths in the first 15 minutes.... they also killed half the asgardians
Saw this opening night at a drive in theater, i was the only one in the crowd that read the source material, everyone crying im like OH SNAP!
Captain Marvel explains the end credits scene and sets up Avengers Endgame.
My girls! (I know you're not mine, but you do happen to be my favorite duo)
1:55-2:00 "then why did you demand it in the first place."
I think Loki thought Thanos was bluffing.
Sorry for my lack of reaction to your reaction. I've missed you two so much.
Thanks for watching :) ❤
Gaahhhhh! This film wrecked me in the cinema.. I can't wait for your Endgame reaction!
You really nailed something in this. It's hard to feel real loss when a character dies, after you've seen so many shenanigans that these stories pull to bring people back.
When this came out I sat in a bit of a stupor just staring into space for a few hours.
Thanks for sharing. I had to wait a year after watching this in the theater to see "Avengers: Endgame."
Great reaction as always ladies! And we were supposed to wait a year to find out if dead was actually dead, cos the dead sure looked dead, or if there was going to be some BS to fix it all. 😛
Historically, the Hulk is the rage monster that was created from Bruce's anguish at not being able to stop his abusing father from murdering his mother right in front of him when Bruce was a young child, which is also why the Hulk was generally an uncontrolled and uncontrollable rage machine when he came to the forefront.
Hulk's performance issues after being stomped by Thanos is the funniest part of IW to me 🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching this movie opening night with my family and my younger sister crying when spider man got killed at the end!
Corvus Glaive's weapon can cut through anything...even a phasing Vision. 😮
Heimdall dead, Loki dead, Gamora dead, Ebony Maw dead, Vision dead.
5:34 YES! Great for repairing things like stairs. Among other things.
Seeing this movie in the theater was one of the most exciting movie going experiences I've ever had!
Absolutely hated how they castrated the Hulk. 🤔
Boo wants camera time!
She's the star of the show! 😺
Best part at the end it says Thanos will return in the next movie 🎥
And he did! In a big way.
Thanos was wearing the power stone when he beat the hulk, lots of people didn't catch that.
I hope you're okay Hannah? It sounds like you've been ill? I may be wrong
Imagine having to wait a year to find out any of your questions answers
Thanks for asking!! I was getting over a bit of a sore throat / chest cold. I went to a weeklong camping music festival - I screamed my lungs out and inhaled a ton of dirt that got kicked up on the festival grounds 😹 I’m doing a lot better now though!! ❤
@@Bbyhanhan Well now my sympathy has turned to jealousy. It sounds like it was a great time? 2 weeks, until i try to replicate that though, so i'm happy for you.
@@TIDYJOKERit was amazing!!! I’m sure you’ll have a blast at yours as well :)
The stone Vision had was originally held by Adam Warlock.
All we are is dust in the wind dude
We're in the end game now
The most important factor for a reaction channel to be successful are the reactors charming? Hannah and Tori are ❤🎉😊
@@oobrocks Big 🧢
Thanks so much😊
@@TerrellMcDuffie I guess you’ll have to agree to disagree lol
They’re actually dead. I remember watching it in the theater just lost for words and have to wait a whole year to see what happened next
Oh Loki is dead. Hard to believe but he is dead here.
😢 noooo. I can never tell what to believe with him lol he’s so sly
@@Bbyhanhan but yeah, he is dead dead. The same loki that we had from thor up to this is dead.
Loki is DEAD dead
Blue Stone - The Tesseract - Space Stone
Red Stone - The Ether - Reality Stone
Purple Stone - The Orb - Power Stone
Yellow Stone - The Sceptre - Mind Stone
Green Stone - Eye of Agamotto - Time Stone
Orange Stone - Soul Stone
First reactors ive seen, who reacted to infinity war, who said it was the Red Skull. I have seen 50 or different reactors, and this was the first time.....I do not get why the others forget a red skull face, lol
He’s so cool looking how could they forget?! Lol. There are a lot of characters and so many hours of movies, so I can understand why it might be tricky to keep track of things
Let me enjoy this as I wait for avengers Dooms day😋
3:07 "Straight to the point" quite literally I would say.
Tony: No, this is where you ZIP IT, alright?!, the adult is talking! What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right?, ‘cause that's on *you*. And if you died, I feel like that's on me. I don't need that on my conscience.
Peter: Yes, sir, I-
Tony: Yes.
Peter: I'm sorry. I’m sorry.
Tony: "Sorry" doesn't cut it.
i think the cat was jealous of the r2d2 plushie 😉 great reaction ladies! 👍☺
Its safe to say i think boo likes the movie ☺ 😺
I don't think you are watching the movie for the first time😏
there should be a hannah hair flip counter
Le meilleur film Marvel de tous les temps
I really liked the video and I also think that the movie ends with Thanos smiling and that at the end it says "Thanos will come back" and not "The Avengers Will Come Back" because the main character in the film is Thanos and if you look at it that way you will understand the film better.
You guys had like no emotion the whole movie 😅
I'm really not sure how much more they could spell it out for you... We heard Loki's neck snap along with Thanos point blank saying that he's not coming back, we saw Gamora's body on the rocks below. What more could they do aside from having the director literally stop the movie come out and say, "Just FYI, these people are dead."?
Well, they could not film Endgame, and Loki TV series afterwards
@@yaroslavpanych2067 Everyone who died before the snap is still gone, even if they finagled an alternate version of one or two of them. They still aren't then the same character we had before this movie
I wish Hannah & Tory would have done a reaction to multiple parts of this movie. I thought their reaction was fine for what they showed… but felt a bit cheated for the content they showed. Endgame will be another long movie… hopefully they will do a multiple part review for that one.
There's a full length watch-along reaction on our Patreon. You can see every moment there.
"WHY is Gamorra?"
girls at 35 24, did you see the movie Venom yet? i think those are his home planet brothers, the symbiotes, i think Thanos' army found them on their planet and brought them here
I sort of remember when I first saw this. When it was released streaming or something? It was a lot. That's what I can say. Like way a lot to put on the audience. And without spoiling what is going be weird is the next is somehow 10x that. But from start to finish really just punch the viewer right in the ribs.
Y’all should watch Justice League Crisis on 2 earths next
Best movie of the MCU, we get to see the true hero of Marvel be triumphant.
