Makes me so happy to see new content coming out surrounding this game, I play offline on GameCube and online on Ultima all the time! (I feel I'm allowed 3xExp when Levelling offline speeds usually xD)
I just started playing PSO again on gamecube, im glad to see you have relevant stuff even for an old game. Wish you could make a mag list for each class. I'm always struggling on that part
There's not really enough data for that in the speedrun context. I don't know if anyone has finished a timed Any% Glitchless on Dreamcast with a caster. Forces and techs are a lot weaker in many ways.
can vol op phase 2, dragon, and gryphon be hit by multitargets in blue burst as well? the visual ambiguity made me think that techs were simply not worth using against those bosses
I have heard that this quirk does not happen in online game modes even on GameCube, though I haven't confirmed this. It sounds plausible to me. If you have an HP viewer it's easy enough to check.
what do you mean? oh wait, we dont have Jellen/Zalure as techther and no Ra class(well Ra class technically merged in some way or other as charged normal techs or Gi techs)
Other than some obvious outliers this isn't completely different from how I'd rank techs for casual play. Bump Resta up to B, Jellen up to C (only gets really good in Ult), I'd honestly push Grants down to C - it's niche imo, swap Foie and Barta only because Barta's movement annoys me and I'm bad at aiming it. Megid goes to E for the extremely narrow niche of Fonewms in epi 2 Ult.
If you're locked into an animation, you can use the menu to buffer a technique to come out on the first possible frame consistently from the menu (otherwise you have to time a button press which is inconsistent). If you are not mid-animation, then pressing the button saves a frame on top of taking less button presses.
Is Zonde pronounced like that? I assumed it was “Zon-Day” Considering practically every tech has two syllables or more aside from grantz. It sounds better too. Nah, been pronouncing it like Zonday since I was in the 3rd grade, so I’ll never pronounce it the way you are 😂
Haven't played in a long-ass time, but for non-speedrun content, it was the secret sauce in ultimate episode 2. Episode 2 enemies had a much, much lower resistance to dark than in episode 1.
Lost my attention entirely when this was from a speed running perspective. Was hoping more people would just be interested in playing the game casually. Sad.
I seriously don't understand why you think the video is useless. You're still getting what you're looking for; he talks about how effective the Techs are to justify where to rank them, taking into consideration their damage, casting speed, range, casting cost, how early you can get it/how much it costs, elemental (dis)advantages, etc. In what way exactly are you not getting the information you wanted? The only thing I can think of that might not matter outside of speedruns is the usefulness of the spell Ryuker. It's absolutely useless when you can just hold Telepipes, but if you're farming for money, you might just sell any you find in the wild and/or get rid of them and save that inventory space for something more valuable. Same argument can be made for Reverser, I suppose, but that's only assuming you're doing co-op because it's useless in quests.

Almost a quarter century since I first played this game and people are still making videos. Hell yeah
This entire tier list is extremely niche but damned if I'm not here for it.

Plenty of feed guides out there that will hand hold you back and forth from the item merchant to the gib itemz screen.
Just dug out my GameCube and found your channel. Sick to see you're making content
I still occsionally play, so new guides like this, despite being not being fully relevent for casual play, are still very appreciated.
Wow; this was amazing!
Thank you Dylie
Interesting to see it all spelled out to clearly
Very nice run down. Could've sworn Grants was going in S, but your reasoning is sound.
do you know if there is a tier list for dreamcast?

What would a weapon tier list look like?
Tell me why a game from 23+ years ago has better Force Techniques then New Genesis sega really dropped the ball

why are you casting foie through the menu and the normal controler commands? why not just use controler commands? You seem to be switching mid combat

is the reverse also true? when youre already casting it from the menu and you press the controller command button?@@akdylie

NOL would have done it quicker! ;)
Why Megid has to be so useless is beyond me. It has so much potential.
For something that potentially one-shots everything, it kinda has to be useless, otherwise it'd be broken. There is no in between.

Sucks the only dark is elemental magic in this game is the most useless one.
Funny enough, Megid becomes one of the stronger spells at lv30, against the right targets.

Its one of the reasons this game still have content being created. Please don't scoff at people that like this
No scoffing. Just I came looking for one thing and found another. Not his fault for making something others enjoy, just not for me
