I remember the first time I saw this. Such a physically and technically demanding song, and she was just having a blast the whole time, I couldn't believe my eyes.
Watching your daughter soak up new information and experiences was great. She is puzzled, stunned, and awestruck at various times, and then she got into sync, which was a joy to watch.

yes... she is VERY good. members of the band Dragonforce said themselves that this is the best cover they've ever seen of their song. she's not a 1 hit wonder either. she has several other songs she's posted vids of. But "Through the Fire and Flames" is one of the hardest songs to play on ANY instrument. look up Tina S for her guitar cover when she was just 15 years old. and I LOVE how Junna is so into the fun of playing that she has a perpetual smile while being so animated.

Actually, I hate to correct you, but you're referring to Gee Anzalone who was not the drummer when this song was written and recorded. That would be Dave Mackintosh. Gee is the current drummer and is the one who reacted to her video. If you watch the official video for Through the Fire and Flames you can see Dave in action.

Your little one does seem to have a really sweet sense of timing, I must say. Some people have an ingrained feel for timing, others have to work to develop it. I was constructing makeshift drum kits out of pots and pans and different sized reference books when I wasn't much older than her; it drove my parents crazy (the noise as well as the battered cookware lol), but they eventually accepted that it wasn't simply a phase and purchased me my first actual drum set. It was cheap and terrible, a used off brand 4 piece, but to me it was as good as gold. When my 16th birthday was nearing my mother asked me if I preferred a used car or a nicer kit, and I chose the kit without hesitation lol I received a 9 piece set of Pearls much to my dad's chagrin...my mom was a fan of my playing, my dad not so much haha Moral of the story is keep rockin' and stay heavy! Wishing everyone peace, love, and good happiness stuff from the mountains of northeastern Alabama 🥁🤘

Drums are a very expensive instrument to play as one progresses. Heads, sticks, and cymbals are a consistent expense (just one of my cymbals cost around $350, and I had 10 😬). Recording and/or performing at live shows requires mics, mixing, triggers (if preferred), etc. and quality rarely comes cheap. But that's the price you pay (quite literally) to get the sound you desire.
Junna is 100% rocket sauce for sure. Watch Senri Kawaguchi. It is insulting to just categorize her by gender. She is simply world class.
What is cool is Junna is flawless. Tina S does a guitar cover of this song, which is amazing as well. Then someone made a video from their videos and is spectacular. Check out Tina S before you watch the combined videos. If you would like to tone it down for you and your daughter, check out another world class drummer Sina-Drums. 👍🌹

Try looking up the Japanese drummer - Yoyoka Soma - you won’t be disappointed! She is 11!
If you haven’t heard of her already you’ve got to check out Senri Kawaguchi, the most distinguished female drummer of Japan. She is also one of the youngest (at 13) to be added into the Drummerworld’s list of the Top 500 drummers in the world. She has also been featured as the cover artist on an issue of Drumhead magazine.

She’s an inspiration esp. as a female drummer from a non-English speaking country, to have managed to carve out a name for herself in this male dominated field of the international music scene, relying solely on her skill and dedication to the craft.
Her youtube channel has all her videos from when she started more than a decade ago by doing covers of anime soundtracks, to now having released multiple albums of her own and getting to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry.

I have zero musical background but just watching her play so effortlessly makes me want to pick up drumming too. She honestly made me develop a new appreciation for drum focussed instrumentals and fusion, which is a completely new genre for me.

Karen would be something for You, *and* Critter, to enjoy. You'd get a famous female drummer, who is also the vocalist. With one of, if not *'the,'* purist voice in music...ever

Another drummer to check out is a young japanese girl called Yoyoka.
