I just watched Training Day for the first time last month. I think that movie looked beautiful. Looks like it could have been made yesterday. One of my favorite movie score is Back to the Future 1
That 4K really brought out the true beauty of that film. Until the 4K I never thought of Training day as beautifully shot but it really is! Great choice with Back to the future as well!!
I was trying to convince my wife to go see that with me actually lol. I might end up just going alone. It looks great. Those are all great scores also!
Question One: The best looking film I have ever seen would be Cast Away. Loved everything about it. Question Two: Best Score of a film to me is probably Let Me In I think. Thank you for the opportunity my friend. Good luck to everyone and great video!!
Thanks so much buddy! And great answers. Cast away really did do some great things with the Visuals. Robert Zemeckis has always been able to push the tech to the limits.
This is one i plan on getting on a future 50% off sale as i just picked up Pinnochio 4k, roaring 20s 4k, transporting 4k from Criterion 50% sale recently.
Blade Runner 2049 and it seems I reference this movie a lot but Star Wars has to be near the top. Tough to find a more iconic and recognizable score than the horns of the Imperial March.
Denis Vileneuve and Roger Deakins made a masterpiece! I agree about Star wars. John Williams made some of the most iconic pieces of music in film history.
The most effective score to me was, There will be Blood. I have never had music make a scene so unnerving at times, then beautiful the next. I would also say that film is one of the most impressive for cinematography. Its just a perfect film in my opinion. I have no idea how that is not on 4k or Criterion
There was a rumor last year that it was coming to 4K and haven’t heard anything since. The score and cinematography are amazing in it and definitely deserve the upgrade. Just an incredible film.
It's one of my favorite films. My parents died relatively young and the film reminds me of what they would probably have been like had they lived to be around the same ages as Ethel and Norman. It was originally a stage play and Jane Fonda bought the rights to it so she could make it into a movie for her and her father to star in. The mailman Charlie his last name is Martin although his last name is never mentioned in the film. It's only in the script. But I liked that tidbit of information because it corresponds with my last name!
@JedEckert I’m sorry for the loss of your parents at a young age Jason. That’s a really nice story about how the film still lets you connect to them. I actually watched this movie with my own mother when I was younger but haven’t revisited it. This will make me appreciate it more. I’m not sure if you have heard of the movie “All of Is Strangers” but it’s on Hulu now. The movie is about a two men who move into a new building. One of the men goes to his old childhood home and finds his parents there. The thing is they dyed in a car accident when he was young. The movie is really about them reconnecting and how things would have been different. I think you might appreciate that film.
We don't have access to Hulu in Canada, but I'll try to find All of Us is Strangers somewhere else if I can! Thanks for the heads up! And enjoy On Golden Pond!
My favorite score is SOMEWHERE IN TIME (1980) by John Barry. So since I have the blu-ray of DAYS OF HEAVEN it's worth upgrading to 4k you saw that much of a difference?
There is a noticeable difference for sure. You’ll notice it right away too in the mill in the opening scene and that it just maintains high quality through the whole thing.
Bergman is one that i’m hoping we get more of because im always so tempted to buy that huge collection from Ctiterion. Altman we only have a couple too. Some of his really need updates. We got the dead zone last years from Scream factory and that was a beautiful transfer.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMediaThe Dead Zone is probably out of stock already or selled at ebay with a painful pricetag. I want Shivers, Rabid, The Brood, Scanners, The Fly and Dead Ringers in the best possible transfer.
Blade Runner the Final Cut is the most visually stunning film my eyes have ever seen. I've never seen a movie that made me want to experience that world more than Blade Runner. In fact I've secretly hoped for decades that the world would have reached a similar point by now just so I could finally get to experience it. And back in the early 80s it seemed entirely plausible that things could be that bad in just a few decades. We even had acid rain 🌧️ back then.
I agree! I think Blade Runner is the most visually stunning film ever. The world that they created for that film still hasn’t been matched. We’re actually not so far off from having some of this stuff in our world but it will never be as cool as it is in Blade runner lol.
I almost got this on the sale but I already had eight or nine in my cart already haha. He's ever going to get a Terrence malick interview. He refuses to be interviewed or ever on camera.
I noticed on rewatches Talladega Nights had really impressive production value and a lot of the shots were lined up nicely and the lights and colors were very vibrant. I think that was one of the first comedies that started classing up the way comedies were shot. Some cinematographers who usually did "big"stuff came over. And guys like Brandon Trost and Barry Petterson really got to do their thing. The Wet Hot soundtrack has a couple of chimes that when I hear bring me back. I really like Craig Werdren because he does all the music for whatever The State does. It's funny to see Ludwig Goransson getting acclaim and an oscar now because he did the same with some of those Community backgrounds. I hope he's not too big to come back for the movie. But I always find myself randomly humming something John Williams has done. Maybe I missed it but did you see Peter Farrelly's Ricky Stanicky? If so what did you think?
I haven’t seen that yet loll. I’ve been meaning to watch it. I’ve really been enjoying John Cenas work especially in comedy. Talladega Nights is very well made. I think that’s Adam Mckay paying more attention to the production. I’ve when he shifted into more drama territory and even Winning time on HBO he shows that he definitely has a good eye.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I usually don't like it when non actors transition into acting but he is doing good and he seems funny, in outtakes he's adlibing with everyone else. I don't want to color your experience with that movie so I won't say anything and just hope you enjoy. As much as I want him to reconnect with Ferrell he is doing well in this territory and seems happy with it so it's cool.
I think they had a falling out because of the Show Winning time. Apparently Will wanted to play the role that John C Reilly played. Hopefully that worked it out. Yeah John Cena seems like he gets it and always stays in his lane. I honestly respect him a lot more since he started acting and I liked him wrestling lol. I’m looking forward to checking that movie out!

Alan Sivertri score in avengers, roger rabbit and abyss
Truly one of the best to do it. His Avengers theme has crossed over like the Star wars theme.
BTTF too?
all 3 scores he did for that trilogy and their all great
this is def a visual treat film - prob not something I would rewatch over and over again tho
That I understand. I probably won’t go back to it for a few years. It was incredible in the moment though.

The score on Spiderverse is a fun and emotional ride
I have loved both movies so much!
The Lego movie every scene with lego bricks and characters were fun and its great to look at
They pulled that animation off way better then I ever could have imagined them doing.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia it really is
The Jungle Book 2016 and Across the Spider-Verse has my favorite score
Both are amazing choices. Jungle Book definitely changed the game. But it met to The Lion King remake which I can’t forgive it for lolll
The score for Godzilla King or Monsters as the score is excellent especially the ending song and use of Godzilla by Blur Oster Club
Quick recommendation, Love Lies Bleeding was pretty damn good.
Favorite score probably is between Jaws, Braveheart, and Gladiator.

The score for Dr Strangelove especially werell meet again
Good Call! That is a great Pice of music.
My favorite film score is Star Wars
That’s truly one of the best.
Evil dead earlier fms always were low budget but excellent
They made the best use of their low budget. Especially the first one which looks great in my opinion.
Spiderverse amazing comic book film as a whole
I also loved it!
I would say the best actor I've heard has to be A beautiful day in the neighborhood as a whole really soft and Tom Hank's singing was excellent
Tom Hanks is always so good. He’s still my all time favorite actor.

@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I'm always living in nostalgia unfortunately lol oh and Wild At Heart seriously needs a 4k!!
