It was so great finding those sweet and inexpensive dollar store items this year. Ive learned you have to get in early in the season to get the cute minis before they are all gone!

I made mini carrot cakes a few years ago. I gave one to my brother-in-love in memory of my sister (his wife). My niece had to tell him not to eat it, he actually thought it was real. Best compliment I received on my attempt at polymer clay food.

No,you must stop comparing yourself to others,merely let them inspire you,for sure,but you got ‘the eye’. Polymer clay is an invitation to create the thing that is not,it is a lovely mimic medium. You do it well,and if you strive to do better,then you will! 🥰

Thank you! I totally had a great time with this afternoon project! I hope you had a great Easter weekend as well. I had an adult Easter egg hunt for my family as we don't have any little ones here in CA, and it was pretty hilarious!
Well done!! My favorite part is the "braiding" or twisting of the snakes of clay to make the decorative edges. So super cute! I always use a toothbrush or dental tool to make the cakes look real. The pin works, too ~ maybe explore the toothbrush for a different look? At any rate, I love how the decor came out ~ everything looks amazing!! Oh - and the addition of the carrot pieces inside the cake was excellent :)
When you said "toothbrush" the light bulb went off cause that is exactly what I normally use, this time completely forgot, LMAO, I think I'm loosing it!!! Toothbrush is way better. Thank you for the comment, I always look for you!
