13 years old here, 16 now. She won Norway's Got Talent after entering at 7 years old and winning with jazz and blues. They may be the most difficult genres to sing and she's been doing it since about 3. You should check out those 4 performances. They're incredible. Then jump to age 9 and her black and white version of "I Put A Spell On You", Fasten your seat belt for that one. Then at 10 she did a reverse cover (she recorded it before the original) of Baby Fuzz's "I'm Still Holding Out For You". Many think that was her best one to that age. And while she sang that impossibly as a child, usually the best one is the last one we hear. It's really hard to pick out her best 75. Angelina's performance was so good that Queen congratulated her, and gave her the rights to this arrangement of their song. Angelina Jordan Astar is a child prodigy in music. She began singing at 16 months old, and taught herself to sing between 2 and 3 years of age. She learned to sing listening to the jazz masters of old. The earliest studio recording we have video of her was made at the age of 6. After winning Norway's Got Talent, her parents decided to let her enjoy her childhood, turning down 90% of the requests for her to perform. That remaining 10% included her showing up around the world, and at 8, she sung "Fly Me to the Moon" on the TV show The View. She has met several heads of state, including President Obama, and performed at a Nobel Peace Prize reception. She turned 16 on 10 JAN 2022. I wasn't sure if you noticed it, but Angelina was barefooted on stage.

Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz", amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at age 6, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them.
Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true you, have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.”
From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.

Angelina has performed over 180 covers and has 5 originals. She has turned down recording contracts which began after her victory on NGT. It's alluded to that to win on AGT The Champions, there would be some form of contract being required. Angelina turned them down. She also turned down Disney. Angelina (14yo) did decide to sign with Republic Records, as they shared her vision for her music. She has complete artistic control, and when she graduates in 2023, it's presumed that her record will drop (her first album was when she was still around 10-11).
Now that you've got a snippet of Angelina's history, there's one song, a diamond in a chest of priceless rubies and sapphires, that you need to see next. This song is "I Put a Spell on You" (Screamin Jay Hawkins, 1956). Angelina arranged the music and lyrics and then went on to perform it at the age of 9 years and 2 months, roughly a year after winning NGT. This song will blow your mind, or just possibly cause your brains to start leaking out of your ears (and possibly cause a scene for anyone seeing this). It's located on her Official Cover Channel. This black and white studio performance has been called by many, a "masterpiece cover" of the song, performed as Hawkins had intended it to be done.
Once you've knocked out "I Put a Spell on You" you've got a treasure trove of performances to choose from. If you want to start at NGT, I've included for you the 4 performances she made. There are several videos out there for this, but these are the best ones I've found to date. NGT 1 and NGT 4 include pre and post- performance content, as it's great to hear this single-digit-midget talk about herself. Since she's Norwegian, these two performances have English subtitles or closed captioning in English.
The final performance, NGT 4 "Summertime", is similar to an AGT feature on a performer. This little kid sits with her legs going straight off the bench she's seated on. At least they didn't show her trying to get up on the bench (she really is quite small). After the intro the video flows straight into her performance of "Summertime". Immediately following, the judges have the opportunity to speak about the impact Angelina has made on them. This is priceless content, and in many ways they've been proven over the last 8 years, leading up to today. Following the judges portion of NGT 4, the video flows into the naming of the victor. This is about 5 minutes in length, and some keep it in while others watch it on their own.

Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye.
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. A great first reaction to the next superstar in music! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. She entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 16 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. Oh, she's singing alright. Jump aboard and join all of us around the world on her journey. She has originals and a boat load of covers. She is going to introduce you a lot of 'old' music and I think the taste of music you will hear is something very different than today's music. Don't feel like you came up short trying to describe what you just heard. Becoming speechless is one of the first things her voice does to you. Another is goosebumps (I believe you called it shivers). And, she will touch your heart with the love in her heart. In regards to the third reaction (her love in your heart) you may have been to shocked, aka confused, it will happen. It may have already and you'll get clues from your heart she's in there.
Don't worry about the coffee stain. It's par for the course. A woman working as a server in a restaurant can work 6-7 hours and when she's done she will look like she did when she came to work. Men? We can barely get out of house without screwing something up. Stains on tee shirt, sweat shirts, bomber jackets, that's who we are. I once bought a new leather bomber type jacket and it looked sensational. If it was going to rain I wouldn't put it on! A lady friend of mine once told me she liked the jacket but it will look better in a little while when I break it in. A little wrinkle here or there, a stain here or there, ah, she said, that would make the jacket a piece of art. C'est la vie!

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram.

Congratulations! You just discovered the best Vocal Artist on the Planet! IMO This opinion is quickly being reinforced as her career is finally starting to I believe explode. I'm surprised there are still many who know nothing about her but again I think that is going to change. If you want to hear music listen to anyone. If you want to feel it listen to Angelina. You have just heard the best voice in our time. And at age 16 in 2022 she's just getting better and more introduced to the industry. Her outfit--she made it with fabric featuring her grandmother's art. She got Heidi Klum's golden buzzer sending her straight to the finals where she blew us again with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," by Elton John. Check it out. Of course, she's still singing. She dropped many covers this year. Her birthday is in January. She's been singing since 1.5 years old and seriously since age 3, making her public debut in Europe with Norway's Got Talent at age 7 auditioning with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday," If you want to check out that one, I recommend getting one with English subtitles so you can hear what the judges say to her and to each other afterward. made her outfit from silkscreen patterns of her grandma's art work when she was 13 back in Norway.
They makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. She also paints great, plays 5 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd. Angie turned 16 on 1-10-22.
Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Hearts” & she was/is
the youngest to be published in Norway. (The performance was so astounding that Queen
themselves posted a video of the teen singing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on their twitter page with the caption:
”Wow!! What a rendition @angelinajordanA” And in an even more extraordinary turn of events, Queen
then reportedly gave Angelina her blessing to record and release her own version of the song by giving
her the copyright to do so.)
Angie has arranged over 200 covers from 70 different artist so far & written 5 songs & has had 2 written for her also so far, & she’s mastered over 10 genre’s already at 13. One of her nicknames is “The barefoot Angel/Princess with a 1000 voices & a Mona Lisa smile” & the “Queen of jazz”. Angie never sings a song
the same way twice, so you could say they’ll all be 1st time reactions. Angie sings like an instrumentalist, combined with narrative music. Another reason she’s so especially rare & great.

Please don't use the "heart" to communicate with your viewers. If you have something to say to them, write it. But using the "heart" to tell commenters that you've read their comment isn't that important compared to how annoying it is to be overloaded by notifications which have been triggered by the reactor giving a "heart" It's even triggered when one's comment is directed to their fellow commenter! The "heart" is a lousy RUclips tool and its yuck is far worse than its yum.
