    I used an old steel bolt that I found to make this ball peen hammer, and also some scrap wood for the handle... Without a lathe. I tried using the hex nut as a nail puller tool, I'd call that a partial success :)

      Yonatan24 7.5 ounces.

      I mean 7.

    • @Yonatan24
      @Yonatan24  6 лет назад

      Oh, 7.16061 / 203 grams.
      But if I sand it a bit more I could make it exactly 7 ounces, not that it matters :)

    Does DIY-itis come with any side effects?

    • @Yonatan24
      @Yonatan24  6 лет назад +1

      Hmmm...
      Empty bank account, running out of space, being unable to sleep because your mind is on fire with project ideas, cutting your fingers off or getting blind or deaf from tools, so I would say no :)

      Just reminded me of another side effect of DIY-itis is constantly coming up with horrible puns with the stuff I use while making stuff. ~You're so lucky I don't talk in my videos!~ I actually let a few loose in this Instructable www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Desolder-Electronic-Components-From-Circuit/
      I used to share my horrible puns in the Creators Collective podcast but I ran out.

    Need a ball peen for a project, searched for an alt tool and came across this vid. Clever.
    Btw, you could make an ASMR channel w/ project content like this. The tapping at the end--so satisfying.

      Thanks, it is quite satisfying. If you're a fan of DIY ASMR I recommend you check out Andy Rawls and I think also Uri Tuchman.
      What do you need a ball-peen hammer for? I never found a use for mine.

      Adding some boot hook eyelets to the tops of some combat boots. A ball peen flares the metal to finish setting the rivets.
