This is like right things used to build wrong solutions. People who have time to customise each application won't be spending much time on polishing their skills I can tell you that from my 25+ years of experience. I've interviewed so many polished resume candidates just because they came through the system. Anyway I'm not blaming Jobscan or the team. Thank you for your service. We need to just look at the next level now.
I have come to a point where l accept that what's more important now is to wake up alive. Whatever happens l will find peace in it. Sometimes you question your existence.
I found you today and I am so grateful! Those of us not working cannot afford to buy services that will help us with our resumes, and here you have provided excellent resources for us to use. God bless you! I immediately subscribed!
Same as @60oh, I even had wording advice from CEO's, professional writers and more. Yet, they never once mentioned ATS or how easily I could've changed these things on my own. Downloaded the tools and templates to get started! I am so glad I found this video. Thank you!!
Hey there, Thank you for the video. I followed what you said and scanned my CV along with the job description, the software is great but clarification is required: its not free. Some sections are blocked out and are useless unless you sign up which is so expensive, considering that only reason we doing this I so that we can get a job, so when money is tight, we cant afford this software.
I really enjoyed the video, it was very informative. A feature that would be incredibly helpful is the ability to upload a resume and job posting for a more detailed analysis. Thanks for the great content
This is awesome hey....Am greatful to you and jobscan. I have had a rough time trying to upgrade my CV and I think I understand why I never got feedback from my applications....Thank you
I did a paid Indeed review of my resume. They gave me a totally different resume format that is ATS friendly. So there is a big confusion about ATS format. There are other experts that claim other formats as being ATS friendly.
Just put my resume through your free tool and it shredded it, absolutely nothing was correct formatting was nonexistent. This is a current resume based on proper formatting firm professionals. Now I understand why so many people never get an interview.
Looks informative, Can we add certificates that are not directly relevant to the job description? For instance, if I am a software engineer applying for an IT Business Analyst role, can I include my tech certifications in my resume?
I have been stuck in the same position for a very long time. My current employer treats me like I am so good at my job that I should feel obligated to keep piling more on to what I currently do, but not good enough to be able to do any other job. I keep getting more training to do more of the same pushed on me, but I have no advancement opportunity so my resume makes it look like that is all I can do. How should I emphasize my transferable skills to get a better position somewhere else?
@@bebea11995 I found a website that formats the information I type in. I added in references to something outside my assigned duties that I am calling a "side project" that management would not appreciate.
@@bebea11995 After I watched this video, I used the Jobscan site to format the information I typed in so it drastically reworked my resume & hope to make use of it soon. I also included references to a "side project" that I have been working on.
I used jobscan to update my resume but it always skips the keyword section from my resume, it gives keywords which I wonder sometimes should be part of resume or not. It does not feel helpful for me, I would rather make manual updates in my resume. Jobscan really need to improve in lot of areas.
Thank you for this video. I'm hoping someone at this channel, or someone watching the video and reading the comments, can answer my question. First, I recently retired (got out early!) so I am not asking this while looking for work. I have had this question for several years now, and no one has ever responded when I asked about it. It was probably 4 to 5 years ago the first time I heard of resumes being read by computers (ATS) before a human sees them. The year before I retired, I sent my resume to two different companies that stated they will scan your resume with the same ATS used by corporations and let you know the result. So, here is my question; What do you do if the results from ATS come back with a career that has nothing to do with what you have actually done? This is a serious question, and here's why: I worked for 30+ years in aviation, as a technician, as an instructor, and as a supervisor for three aerospace companies here in the US. I had my titles and responsibilities throughout my resume detailing my duties with the three companies to where a human reading it would have no trouble reading what I accomplished. Well, the ATS results came back telling me that 75% of my career was in manufacturing. I have never worked a single minute in manufacturing in my 30+ years, so how does this system come up with those results? There is absolutely nothing on my resume mentioning manufacturing. Technician, Instructor, Supervisor, all in aircraft maintenance.
@@bebea11995 Hello, and thanks for replying. I would have thought that about the one algorithm, but I sent it to two separate companies who ran it through the computer. Both returned the same result, 75% manufacturing. I enjoyed working in aviation most of the time. There are times, especially working for an airline, where you wonder why you didn't make a different career choice, ha ha!
Great video. My Q: How do you write Resume headlines if you worked in different business areas? E.g., I worked as a manager in the spa, but I want to change departments and get a job there (sales or HR or guest service). Could you provide an example for this challenge, please?
Hi! We would suggest catering your headline to the job you're applying for. So if you are looking to get a job in a new department, we'd suggest implementing any skills or keywords that you've acquired from being manager, and reframe those for the new department you're interested in. Hope this helps!
Yes, thank you. I kindly request an example of the headlines of my resume to enhance my comprehension and proficiency in drafting the relevant section of my resume. E.g: I am a director of spa more than 10 years now but previous I was a teacher for 12 years and I want to change department and apply HR manager job. Can I apply for the HR manager job? I would appreciate a direct example of a resume headline for this position. Furthermore, if I were to apply for the position of Revenue Manager or Guest Service Manager, what would be the appropriate headline of my resume? Regrettably, I find writing a transaction resume to be a challenging task, especially the headline of the resume. I would highly appreciate it if you could provide me with direct examples. Thank you.
@@ma14rianna Hi ! Ive used your comment in chat GPT and this is what came up: " For the HR Manager position: "Dedicated Spa Director with a Decade of Experience Transitioning to HR Management, Bringing a Unique Blend of Leadership and Education Background" For the Revenue Manager position: "Experienced Spa Director with a Strong Track Record in Revenue Optimization and Guest Satisfaction, Poised to Excel as a Revenue Manager" For the Guest Service Manager position: "Seasoned Spa Director with a Proven History of Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences, Ready to Lead as a Guest Service Manager" -- don't hesitate to use chatGPT for headline examples if you're at a loss, I hope this helps!
Hi! Great question. It depends on the title of the role you're interested in! We would recommend putting in your headline "College student with an interest in pursuing a [job tile] role in [job industry]" 😌 Hope this helps!

We’re so glad you found these tips helpful! Thank you for watching!
As a creative with over 20 years experience, ATS systems are a travesty. This is not how you find the best person for a job. Everyone loses.
I agree. If you've worked in the creative arts industry at all...ever....I'd ignore some of this advice.
Amen, no matter how I format, this system has shredded my resume.
Just saw this as an ad. I will be bookmarking this video for future reference! Thanks in advance, Priscila!
Great tips. Simplifying formatting is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make your resume readable by the ATS system.
Thank you! We’re glad you found this video helpful 😌💙
Well. This was super helpful and eye-opening. I had no idea what ATS was until I just came across this recently. Thank you very much!

Where do you add the reference section
No need for reference section, they will ask you to provide your references later if your resume was selected

Completely free = 2 free scans/month? 😞
This ats is not the solution , after a while everyone writes an ats compatible cv ,then what ? U invent another system of rejecting people ?
Welcome to ATS, convert to resume rejection 😊
