I read "The Puppet Masters" a few years ago, but I have to confess I don't remember much about it. In the SF Masterworks series there is another well-known alien invasion novel from the 1950s called "The Body Snatchers" by Jack Finney. It's set in a town where people have been replaced by duplicates grown from alien pods. The book was made into a movie four times. I think the best version was the one made in 1978 with Donald Sutherland, even though it's a loose adaptation. When I first saw it as a kid, I didn't register that it was based on a book. As a matter of fact, Donald Sutherland was also in the movie adaptation of "The Puppet Masters". (Which I haven't seen.)
I've seen the Donald Sutherland version of The Body Snatchers. I didn't like it much but I remember some of the visuals quite vividly. I didn't know there was a movie adaptation of The Puppet Masters, so I'll check that out! Thanks for watching and commenting
Puppet Masters sounds like an X-Files episode! Now that I read Tanith Lee my interest peaked when you mentioned Sturgeon’s prose. I will check that one out. Looking forward to your ranking! That is why booktube is so great, you can weed out the good and the not so good for us.😀
Ah I was thinking of giving The Puppet Master a read as I have a Pan version but it doesn't sound too exciting a book might put that further down the TBR pile. It's shame I don't have a copy of More Than Human that sounds much more interesting!
It's a pretty quick read, I just don't think it does anything particularly interesting personally. Like I said, there are a couple of twists and reveals that elevate things a little. Keep in mind I'm just not getting on with Heinlein so far personally so if you've had a better experience with his stuff in the past you might have a better time than I did. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great video! More Than Human is on my TBR and I', looking forward to it!
Thank you sir! It's one of the better ones from this challenge so far
More than human was a surprise. Not what I expected of SF at all but it was a very touching tale.
I know what you mean in terms of the feel, it's much closer to literary fiction in some sense.

I'd say that's a pretty fair comparison actually. I really want to read some Tanith Lee, I hear great things! Thanks again Heidi.
