The progression between both versions is like your own villain arc. Starting off well trimmed and in a smart suit as the calm, collected, slightly psychotic villain to now with the longer hair and beard, the less formal (for lack of a better word) suit as the villain who has surpassed psychotic and arrived at full on deranged. I love it.

The original cover of this is still one of my favourites (5 years? FIVE?! Bloody hell) but this..this..this is INTENSE.
The original was evil in a 'sipping fine wine while watching things burn' kind of way.

under the old cover someone imagined this as "a demon trying to sway an angelic counterpart resorting to intimidation, belittling and violence when it fails"
now THIS feels like a revisit, the demon completely becoming unhinged after failing the first time.
That cover five years ago was what introduced me to you, so seeing it remastered is the second most exciting thing I’ve been here to experience (only second to Starship Velociraptor!!!)

I was obsessed with the original cover of this when it first came out, I never expected to see a remastered version 5 years later! Not only have you improved a lot, but you definitely look a lot more metal now than you did then. Sick cover!

this scratches *every* itch for metal in my brain. the original cover had so much swagger to it and had the kind of vibes of a suave and so cool it's scary villain, but this is like, ten times as menacing and super creepy. hell yea!

I love it! You've really improved with the "villian" thing you've got going on. If you're gonna do another redo, I think This is Halloween would be an excellent candidate. Your original cover was banging but you could absolutely annihilate it with how you are now!

Oh my gosh... Both covers were amazing but they bring completely different vibes. The first cover was more of a sophisticated, controlled kind of frightening like a lot of the regular Disney villains. THIS cover leaned more into the heavy metal, much more chaotic. Scary in its own way. Leans a lot more into what Tamatoa might have been like if Disney didn't have to keep a PG rating. Goes just as hard :D

The original is one of my favorite covers you've done. It always felt like a riff on the villain barely keeping his mask of cheerful amicability in place. This one? Tamatoa simply doesn't care anymore. Incredible. It's mesmerizing.

This really hits home how much he's grown. I remember back when I stumbled on a cover of gauston and was like yeah, this kids fun, I'll watch his videos. Now, here we are, years later, and that kid tromping around in big boots and a plastic sixpack, is a fully grown metal god, and still the first video I click when a new one pops up. Heck of a ride and I can't wait to see how far we'll all go together. Love this community, love these videos, and love this guy.
